"Wait a moment...you mean the goblins are not moving? They waiting for us, and we waiting for them?"
Erevior grins, amused at the thought of all of them waiting in ambush for each other. He emerges out from the brush.
"Wait no more - I bring them back!"
With that, Erevior trots down the path in the direction Cyriel indicated. His intent is to chuck a javelin at the first goblin he sees (to make them mad), make a racket as of someone terrified of goblins (to draw them out), and flee back down the path toward Vex, Valrakas and Cyriel (so that they get to join in the fun) Erevior is really curious to see that harpoon in action again.

You all gather on the trail roughly 10 feet or so from where it splits. Vex is the first to notice and quietly points out the goblin that is trying to remain hidden in the brush just after the split. There is no sign of the other two baddies.

Everyone gets a free action before the hidden goblin reacts. Please roll initiative as part of your post as well.

Vex pulls out his crossbow, setting his sword quietly on the ground and takes aim at the goblin that he can see, waiting for everyone to get into position. He will fire when everyone is in position (end of everyone's actions) or if the goblin attempts to go anywhere.

OOC: Readied action to attack the goblin!

Erevior winks at Vex, then hurls his first javelin at the visible goblin.

Note that the damage should be 3, not just 1 (1d6, +2 for STR mod), as Naatkinson pointed out. Attack roll result is 23, too, though I don't think that makes a difference in this roll.

Javelin uses STR when wielded in melee. Ranged uses DEX.

Edit: Naatkinson is correct; I was wrong. Thank you for pointing that out!

Cyriel moves forward to espy the goblins. He already has a good idea where they are, but they seem to have moved. *Maybe they heard us coming?*

If he sees one he will launch a fire bolt. (Damn!!!! I'm gooood)

Valrakas winds up to throw his harpoon but seeing Erevior and Cyriel unload on the goblin he decides to wait if its mates will be flushed out. He keeps a sharp eye out as he moves towards the goblin they've just shot.
OOC:
Readied action - harpoon versus any other goblins that show up.

The goblin chuckles lightly to himself as he sees the four of you gathering. "We gonna get them go…" his thought is interrupted as Erevior’s javelin tears into his shoulder. With a yelp he pops up and draws back his spear, clearly wanting to return the favor. Vex’s bolt catches him in the throat and he falls back into the under growth.

As soon as the first goblin falls back dead Cyriel catches a blur to his left as a second goblin pops up from hiding and sends his spear slicing across his leg. Not missing his chance Cyriel turns and throws a bolt of fire in return. It hits its mark and the smoldering goblin joins his companion in goblin heaven.

Valrakas doesn't even see it coming as the third goblin launches his own attack at the minotaur, his spear cutting across Val's chest. Ignoring the pain Val hurls his harpoon and it catches the little creature in the hip and is stuck fast. Letting out a curse the injured goblin draws his scimitar.

Goblin #1 and Goblin #2 are dead.
Goblin #3 is caught by Valrakas' harpoon and within movement range. Any grapple attempts against him come at an advantage until the end of Val's next turn.

"I'm hit!" exclaims Cyriel. "You are meant to protect me!"

Seeing the harpooned goblin, Cyriel launches another fire bolt. "Goblins love fire, so here's a gift!"

Cyriel enters a trance and sends Cecil to scout ahead.

Erevior will inspect the bodies of the goblins, to see if there are any clues about their origin, motivations, location of the kidnapped child, or just useful items.

"Aye, that does look bad." Valrakas drips with sarcasm as he sneers at Cyriel's wound. The much deeper wound on the minotaur's chest bleeds profusely but stays ignored as Valrakas reels in his harpoon. "But none o' us are as bad off as this pox-ridden toad 'ere." He shakes the burnt goblin carcass skewered on his harpoon. "I meant t' question the little bugger, ye mermaid-haired parrot!" But his words go unheeded as Cyriel is deep in his trance.

After healing Val up nicely, Vex nods, happy with the work that he has done. He then joins Erevior in 'inspecting' the corpses.

Erevior & Vex: Your search for loot turns up very little of interest. The spears that were thrown (or not in the case of the first goblin) are shabbily made and probably not worth their weight copper. One of the goblins has a fairly decent scimitar that appears to have been very well taken care of. Between the three of them you round up 12SP and small iron key.

You all notice Cyriel coming out of his trance.
