You soft pink ones, always so worried for the dead. These men died in battle, as any good warrior should. They've already ascended, he says, pointing and gesturing to Kicsi with the arm still. He then drops it and it shatters on the floor.

Kicsi ignores Tosher and heads for the exit.

After not seeing much else of value here in the frozen corpses of men, Tosher follows Kicsi out of the tower.

Cuon remains pacing about the foot of the tower, on the look out for trouble.

The ice road leading deeper into the frozen lands starts flattening out and resembles a mud road, under the blue ice. Through the ice you see thousands of footprints frozen in time, this must be the same path the invading army took.

The surrounding area is spotted with houses, some burnt, some intact, but all covered with the ice. The keep is off in the distance, but looks like it can be reached late evening. The buildings become more numerous, a many of them destroyed. A shoulder high wall is in the distance. It looks as if the road went through a gate and by two small buildings. The once ornate cobblestone wall is destroyed for most of the side, apparently the army came through here.

Passing the wall reveals carnage the likes most have never seen. Bodies lay everywhere, torn in pieces and some have been reduced to pudding. Ice covers the battlefield, the ramparts, siege engines, everything. The keep is on the other side of this charnel pit.

Vikent steps gingerly around some torn limbs, and stops at the edge of a frozen lake of viscera. He sighs.

"O great warriors of the past, we honor your valor and mourn your deaths." He looks about expectantly, and then proceeds across the grim landscape.

Kicsi, prayer beads in hand, says a silent prayer for the fallen as she continues on.

Tosher clomps through with little respect for the dead. His hoof shatters skulls and limbs as he wades past the carnage. These were the losers. They fought, but they lost. Death was the honor a warrior should desire in such a defeat.

Great warriors?, he asks looking at Vikent. The greater Warriors were the ones who won the fight. You should be praying we don't run into them.

Tethys shakes his head, such needless carnage... He says a quick prayer for their souls before following the others to the keep.

Cuon is quiet and not particularly thoughtful about the dead arrayed around him. The land seems far more dead than the people, and this concerns him a bit more. "Did you find anything of note in the tower?"

More of this, Tosher says, gesturing to the dead all around.

One good factor about the ice, there is no smell. The devastation is wide and you have a long path to cross to get to the keep on the other side.

"Let's hurry along here, I don't like this place much at all," Tethys urges, worried that the spirits of the dead might still be lingering.

Vikent nods, and takes off at a careful jog. His white tiger fur cloak is pulled around him, his eyes are on the keep, but he casts eyes now and again to the side, wary of the frozen dead.

Kicsi falls in behind Vikent, matching his pace the best she can.

After the carnage of the battlefield, or slaughter grounds would be a better name, there is a twenty foot area with thick ice. It is so thick, you can't see what lies beneath it and the original entrance to the keep is only half as tall as it should be.

Peering into the courtyard of the keep, the ice narrows and you can see it's source, a doorway leading into the castle. Everything behind the doorway does have ice on it, but it is a very thin layer, mainly turning it a blueish color. The interior of the walls is made of a cobblestone and flagstone mixture. The doorway to the castle is open, but to one side stands a frost giant, but shrunk to the size of a goblin.

Vikent whispers to Kicsi, "Does that giant miniature space frost giant look frozen to you?"
