Baric swiftly plunges his dagger into and pulls it out of the wight as it nearly tackles him to the stone floor. Taking advantage of the wights momentum, Baric spins the wight around him and chops at the back of the creature.

Baric is able to redirect his attacker's momentum and move her past him. His axe drives into her back with a heavy, meaty sound. Her body singed, pierced with arrow and quarrel and slashed, she somehow manages to continue moving.

Erran tucks his face behind his arm as the splinters rain down on his torso, regaining his posture he meets the gaze of whatever lies behind the door. "Well, hello there, beauty!"

Erran quickly takes aim on the undead woman engaged with Baric, firing slightly right to avoid catching his compatriot with a bolt of flames. Not waiting to see if his shot lands, Erran braces his sword horizontally across the gap in crumbling wood in front of him, hoping to take the main force of the next strike and buy him and his guildmates more time.

"We might want to think about a tactical retreat here soon, boys!

OOC:
I love it! Give me a Strength (Athletics) check too, Erran, to brace the door.
As the wight turns around to strike at Baric again, Erran catches it in the back, directly across the wound Baric had just inflicted, with a blast of fire. The flames send her collapsing into the ground at Baric's feet, her attack being thrown off from the force of it to cause her arms to bash the stones by Baric's head instead.

Devanis stands his ground as the others have yet to make their escape through the door. He is aware he is about to be completely surrounded. And what of the sword-wielding thing coming through the splintered door? He is filled with the dread he expressed to Father Morgan of dying and becoming an abomination.

The most recent wight, a lithe man with a gaunt, stretched look to his face, goes to grab at Devanis, who knocks his arms aside and slashes and cuts the larger of the two. As Devanis pulls his axe back from the gut of the larger man, skin and muscle tear away with relative ease. It doesn't seem to halt his advance as he calmly grabs Devanis on the shoulder, wrenching his arm painfully before the ranger can pull free (7 Bludgeoning Damage).

The body that lies at Baric's feet struggles to move. It appears to still be conscious---as alive would not be appropriate---as it writhes and twitches, trying to grab at the dwarf's legs but unable to work its arms to the task. Eventually it goes still, until a ghostly wisp rises from its back. Muffled, as though sounded from a distance, you can hear the sounds of a woman screaming in terror as the dark wisp reaches toward Baric with one of its tendrils, leaving his skin frosted and pale blue where it touches (1 Cold Damage).

There is a pause as Erran goes to brace the door with his greatsword held across the frame. For a moment you may wonder if the beast ceased its assault, but all too quickly is that illusion shattered. The door comes crashing inward, snapping off of its hinges as a great blade cleaves into a large chunk of it. Sparks fly as the blade connects with Erran's sword, and the elf's knees bend as he struggles under the force of it. The door is bent into the room, held up purely by Erran's own strength, though whatever lies just beyond it is fighting him just as strongly...

Ameera slide along the door to escape, still facing the hall. She freezes in fear when large sword smashes through the door in front of Erran. The whites of her eyes gain a purple glow. Whith no visible movement, she stares at the horror coming through the door and whispers Gudruz dar morakh. The fear does not leave Ameera, but her bodies reflexive desire to flee wins and she squeezes through the door.

The unhinging of the door that Erran is holding up caused a crack to form in the stone at the top of the frame. The crack shoots upwards, extending onto the ceiling. As Devanis gets to the doorway and begins to move through, the crack reaches a loose stone above the iron-reinforced door. The stone drops above Devanis, who has to pull out of Pyrrah's grasp and back away with haste. In the end he barely avoids it, and dust and debris falls from the hole in the ceiling, collecting to form a low-hanging cloud by the doorway.

Pyrrah jumps back and coughs as she breaths in the dust, but she throws her hand back out anyway, her heart thumping violently within her chest. "Come on! We've got to go! Run! "

IF everyone gets through, I'll use my movement speed afterwards to back away from the opening. If not, I'm not moving an inch.

Ameera steps back into the space behind the door and does a very quick scan of the area, but returns to facing the small opening so that she can see what is coming behind her companions as they squeeze through.

"That all you got, lovely?!" Erran taunts the terror behind the shattering door, sweat starting to drip from his brow.

Erran continues fortifying the entrance until he sees Baric beginning to make way for the door, following suit after him and Devanis.
OOC:
Should an attack from the creature behind the door make it's way through and hit Erran, he will use his reaction to cast "Shield."

You couldn't just stay down, you glowing wisp of smoke? You blue buzz of air.

Baric looks for a way to pass the now removed spectre and finds little to allow him passage.

You're dead, you know, with no where to go.

He winces at that one even as his voice reverberates with the power of the spell as he glances back to look for his thrown dagger.

He. He whispers, ashamed. He's gone for good you know. Taken by a beast of some kind. His tone is almost consoling with just enough bite to be a taunt

You're all alone now.

Baric sprints for the dagger.
OOC:
Vicious Mockery, a perception check and its perhaps something else if he fails the perception check. I'll add any other checks as needed.

Baric's spell does not seem to have an effect on the wisp, which lashes out with its tendrils as he moves to recover his dagger, striking and freezing him across the arm (3 Cold Damage). He sprints to get to his dagger, stopping at the point where it now lies and snatching it up off of the ground. The wisp follows, but floats slowly by comparison and cannot reach him in time.

As Devanis struggles at the doorway, the wights he left behind pour into the room and swarm around Erran. The door creaks and snaps in places as the weight of it and the sword forcing it bears down upon the Elf. Erran is pushed down to one knee as he struggles to hold it back. Despite his full focus being taken by fighting off the unknown threat, the wights that gather around him do not seem capable of breaking his guard. They grab at the chainmail on his shoulder and back, wrenching loose chains but otherwise not harming him. Against all odds, Erran even manages to get his foot beneath him once more pressing the door back against the frame.
