OOC:
Once my perception check is done, I will investigate as well. However, I don't want to roll it until Pyrrah is convinced that the environment is safe. For the moment she's keeping back and wary.

Over her shoulder to Flare, Ameera says "This is where the barrier spell was, its wyrd was certainly beyond me. Do you know elvish, I think these ruins are at least related to elvish?.
Neph said there was some type of quake before the barrier dropped and I feel that there is still some vibration in the pillar. I wonder if there is something suppressing the barrier."
.
Ameera hesitates and addresses the sprite, first attempting to speak and think at the same time, then giving up as the thoughts become more complex.
Neph, what can we do?

"Sorry. Dwarven and the language of thieves, only."

Feeling relatively safe despite the fact that a bunch of beasts broke through this very spot earlier, Pyrrah joins Ameera down by the pillars. She briefly looks at the Elven script to which Ameera was referring, but instead looks around elsewhere, looking for any physical damage or upset that may have been caused in the surrounding area by the beasts. In order to see more clearly, she pulls out a torch and lights it with a mumble of short dwarven.
OOC:
I really hope that I'm getting all these low rolls now so that I have a whole string of Naty Twenties in the next combat scenario.

"Whatever came through and attached the village certainly won't be the last of them. A couple of these tracks head back the way they came, and they're small.
Maybe the hounds had handlers that walked them this far and then set them loose?"

She carefully avoids stepping on any of the tracks and looks around the area for fallen stones or loose rubble.

"I'm not terribly comfortable moving further in without the boys acting as backup. We need to let the villagers know what's going on. If we can find anything to at least make the passage more difficult though... "
OOC:
Is it even a legitimate option to drag anything over,
or is the exit too wide, or too few stones?

With a leap and a flourish, Baric finishes the performances. Panting and subtly glancing around, he notices the work that needs to be done and begins working his way, throng in tow, towards the needed repairs. He dips his head, tugs his beard, and silently begins feeling out the stone and the structures that form their homes, seeking to discern needs and repairs.
OOC:
I'm doing an investigation check instead of a history check on the stone (both INT checks), looking for how to fix it. That said, would I still be able to use any part of my stone cunning for the check as it does have to know with an intense knowledge of stone? If so, It's +2 for proficiency added (as I'm not proficient in investigation) or +4 for the full bonus.

Neph, does everything look as it should. Is there anything here that shouldn't be, or is missing?

Ameera lays her left hand on the other column. "Neph thinks the Shadowkin, like that one we saw, are behind this. Do the tracks back fit that?" Focusing on the column and saying aloud to no one "I wish I knew if that vibration was normal."

Neph shakes her head at Ameera and points at the two pillars.

As best as you are able to tell, Baric, the homes have some newfound structural issues due to the hounds' claws grinding up the cliff face as they climbed. If new supports can be constructed and placed, then they should be good as new. The most damage was nothing that will take ingenuity to fix, just a lot of time and effort.

"If their barrier is gone, we need to move. I'm not particularly great with the wyrd, so I don't think that there is anything I can do quickly to manually seal the tunnel.
Ameera, can you make explosions or something that could collapse the tunnel? We don't have the time to drag all of the rocks over one by one, and even so the hounds would probably just break through again... We need to block them out if Nephs people want to rebuild. I'm sure with their magic, they could clear it out again if they wanted the way reopened. "
OOC:
Are those tracks small enough for that shadowkin that we shot?

Devanis wakes with a start, in unfamiliar surroundings. He realizes he's in the pixie village. The fight must be over. He vaguely remembers Baric helping him here. He sits for several minutes, catching his bearings, reorienting himself. Then he breaks out his healing kit and tends to his wounds, all the while wondering where the others are.
OOC:
* Cutting this down to a short rest.

"I don't think what I have will do much to rock, I can try. Based on what I saw Nephs people trying to do with those hounds, I don't think their wyrd is of the rock clearing strength either." We could leave Zubie here as an alarm while we talk to Nephs father. I think he may be their leader." Ameera scans the ceiling beyond the pillars, where the tunnel is narrowish.

Ameera:Yes. The tracks look like they could certainly be shadowkin.

"Neph says that the barrier extended up to where we fought the bat creature, so even if I could bring down some rocks, it won't fix the problem." Ameera sits cross legged on the ground between the pillars, absent mindedly scratching Zubie's folded wings. "Flare, I think we need to get back and let Neph talk to her village. We can get the rest of our group together and follow the shadowkin tracks. Maybe we can find who or what is keeping the shield down, that is if our party are in any shape to go. We should rest first."
Ameera relays these same thoughts to Neph, seeking the sprites opinion.
May 24, 2017 1:58 am
Neph listens carefully, and in the end she appears to be in agreement as she gives Ameera a firm nod.
May 24, 2017 2:18 am
"Okay. Devanis was in rough shape anyway. We should make sure he's okay when we get back. I also want to see if I can't find a few things for that spell I want to try...
It might come in useful in the caverns ahead. "

Pyrrah rises from her crouched position near the tracks, eager to leave if yet reluctant to face the rock-climbing for a second time. She grips the torch and starts heading back.
OOC:
It literally just occurred to me that I could have been using my torch all this trip. During the climb I could have literally just mage-handed it over to you, Ameera... My hindsight is 20/20.
