"Not from me. I never was any good at keeping a low profile." She waits her turn to leave. And tries to stay aware of anyone who's watching the party, while trying not to make it obvious that she's watching anyone who's watching the party.

She manages to pull it off, even if it's hard to be casual when you're a cyborg with a sword.

seeing if anyone is looking at us (FOC) - (1d20+1)

(10) + 1 = 11

Serana can't see any signs of the party being monitored. Yet.

Pudge gets an odd, pulsating sensation at the back of his mind. A powerful telepath is somewhere in the building and now they're reaching out, searching for another psion's presence.
Oct 13, 2015 9:58 pm
Wilhelm watches the bar as the others leave in succession.

(OOC: also, if you think it's appropriate, Wilhelm wants to feel for any psionic threats as he's still looking for a witch on the loose)

Wilhelm immediately stands up with fire in his eyes and signals to any remaining party members to hit the door ASAP and quickly makes for the door.
Oct 16, 2015 5:45 am
Darghibous smiles and holds up a finger in the woman's direction, as if to say "Wait one moment..." and then leaves out the door.
Oct 17, 2015 8:14 am
Once outside, Serana turns to Wilhelm. She's resisting the impulse to draw her sword. "What is it? You looked like a ghost had just stepped on your foot."
Oct 17, 2015 2:54 pm
"Council psion. Big one, and we're sitting right in the crosshairs. Get down the block and get out of range."
Oct 17, 2015 4:57 pm
Serana just nods mutely and obeys. She knew better than to underestimate High Council psions, or to underestimate a hunter's experience.
Oct 18, 2015 12:38 pm
Pudge follows Wilhelm's lead silently, trying to resist the impulse to connect with this psion who seems to be reaching out to him. He hasn't had much experience using his psionic abilities, and the temptation to connect with someone else who has similar skills is strong. But, given Wilhelm's expression and tone, Pudge refocuses and moves with Serana, severing the connection with the hacked droid in the bar.
Oct 18, 2015 4:10 pm
Darghibous follows, looking back wistfully at the bar. He understands the danger of a psion, but he regrets leaving without any concrete information.
Oct 18, 2015 7:41 pm
Wilhelm does his best to brace for impact as he makes his way down the street.

Psionic Defense - (1d20+7, 1d6+7)

Wilhelm briefly staggers from the force, but his mind holds. Without preparation the huge flux of psi could've easily plunged him into unconsciousness... or worse. The unseen psion isn't playing around. Mercifully they picked Wilhelm as the focal point of their powers, but even then the shockwave was palpable to the rest of the party.

Having failed to immobilise the team from a comfortable distance, the Council-trained psion's next move seems obvious: they will either give chase themselves or order someone else to make the pursuit. They will not be happy that their abilities were resisted and they will be very eager to see exactly who they're dealing with.

Darghibous reels for a moment. "The - Seven - Hells!..." He regains his balance and then sprints to the car, if it's still present. Otherwise, it's a rush down the street to another available car...and by "available," he means anything that they might be able to bluff/commandeer. "Come ON!"

Staggering forward, Wilhelm steadies himself on the shaft of his scythe and looks to the party with a satisfied grin, having wiithstood the attack. "And now we run." Pulling the brim of his hat down, Wilhelm takes off down the street. "Pudge Get us a car please. We're about to have some friends in pursuit."
Oct 19, 2015 7:39 pm
As Darghibous suspected, the drone cab is in the process of disembarking, already rising from the ground. Someone at the embassy must have recalled it.

Pudge can cancel the recall with a DC11 Tech+KNO check: but be warned! Doing so will make it easier for the pursuers to maintain a trace. But if someone wants to physically stop/stall the drone cab, e.g. through brute force or jumping aboard it, that'd be a DC16 check.
Oct 19, 2015 8:02 pm
Serana throws herself at the car and tries to pin it down. She slides off it, completely failing to prevent its motion.

"Damn."

Pudge furiously searches for another nearby vehicle to remotely start. He locates an abandoned sedan, in an alley just up the street.

Hacking a ride - (1d20+6)

Wilhelm's scythe carves off an entire antigrav node and the drone cab falls to earth abruptly. Its AI mutters something about voiding the warranty but it's hard to make out over the lingering, reverberating clang from its impact.

Pudge will have no difficulty getting the cab to fly again, but all of its power output will have to be redirected to the remaining nodes: which isn't tenable. The engine will eventually burn itself out.
Oct 20, 2015 4:06 pm
Serana tries to pick herself up as dignifiedly as possible. "I have an idea. Pudge, can you set the other car to go off in the other direction? If we're lucky our pursuers will follow the wrong car while we escape in the cab."
