Hi there, and welcome. There are lots of Youtube channels devoted to role-playing. And podcasts if you listen to those.
Basically, role-playing is collaborative storytelling where the player's actions are bounded by game mechanics. So you can't just do Superman stuff (unless you're character can do those things).
Step 1: Join a game (if that is here on Gamers Plane, watch the Games Tavern forum for GMs looking for players for their games)
Step 2: Make a character (rules and methods very)
Step 3: Play!

Hello and welcome! As people have noted there are all kinds of "live play" on you tube. Also, just have fun!

Welcome, Thycydides! Many games run here welcome newbies. In addition, every so often one of the members will run a game SPECIFICALLY for newbies. As the others have mentioned there is a great community here so don't hesitate to ask questions.
