Alalla sprints toward the building. "Idiot. Idiot."

When she arrives she leaves her glaive on the ground and begins climbing the structure. Her armour is heavy and her body exhausted, but she's trained for feats like these.

Al makes it up to a second floor window, then pauses to look through. She doesn't want to jump directly into flame.

Zenithral gets up and begins hovering, shooting blindly at where he last saw the assassin, then flies forward towards the assassin, trying to get out of the darkness. He spins around mid-flight and shoots at where the other sound came from. (Assuming the attacks hit, the assassin takes 18 damage and the other creature takes 12 damage)

Vincent stands up slowly. "Stay here Erevain. Keep an eye on them in case someone slips past me."

Vincent walks over to the door, opens it, steps out, and closes the door behind him.

Now alone, Vincent goes to the stairwell and prepares to cast fear as soon as he believes he has seen everyone in the group.

Erevain nods and draws his sword, but rests the tip on the floor.

In the hallway outside, Vincent can hear things being smashed down below, as well as guttural conversation.

From her view outside the window Alalla sees that the room within is smoky, but clear of fire.

As he fights within the darkness, Zenithral feels two sharp pains as metal slices into him. Strong hands grab at his legs and wings, trying to wrestle him into the flames. Abruptly the darkness disappears, and Zenithral can see the orc at the far end of the hall pinned to the far door with an arrow through his chest. It's hard to get a good look at the one grabbing at him, but from the green skin and heavy grunts it must also be an orc.

Zen takes 47 damage and must make an opposed check to the grapple (DC 18, basically).

Alalla smashes the window and climbs inside. "Lord Ulbrec?! Lady Ellythara!? Zenithral?! She searches the room quickly before moving on.

Zenithral struggles, but to no avail. He turns his head and his eyes explode with white light, long white hair spreading in all directions. "FLEE!" (Zenithral regains 20 hp. Orc must make a DC 16 Wisdom saving throw or spend its turn moving away by the fastest available means, which is probably out the window. If the Orc succeeds, he uses his Action Surge to cast it again.)

Alalla finds herself in a spare bedroom. The single door leading from the room is open, but seeing into the hallway beyond is difficult from all the smoke.

Al moves through the room to the hallway. She moves her feet in a sliding motion so that if she misses anyone on the floor she will only kick them slightly, and not crush them underfoot. "Is anyone there? Its Alalla!"

Vincent makes his way down the stairs and sees several men in militia uniforms overturning half-finished cabinets and tables. A smirking man in fine robes stands atop the shattered door, overseeing the work.

The man looks up and sees Vincent, then quickly whips a wand from his belt. "Not who I expected to find here, but can't have you talking either. Kill him!"

One of the guards responds especially quickly, and leaps up the stairs to attack, but Vincent easily avoids the swings.


Vince is up next, and then the rest of the baddies go.

The orc immediately lets go of Zenithral takes off down the stairway, its movements rigid and shaking. In just a moment it is through the doorway at the bottom and out of sight.

A moment later, the building shudders again.

Zenithral isn't sure whether he made the right choice or not, but he has no time to think. "HELLO?!" He calls out to anyone in the building. He skips into the air and soars past the dead assassin, still searching for survivors or the next floor. (Dash action, or Search if necessary)

With a hoarse wisper which shouldn't carry, but is still easily heard. "Kill me? No, that's not how this ends. Run, or your souls will be mine. I'll use them to kill your friends, then I will send them to eternal damnation to make me stronger. You have this one chance...RUN!"
Black smoke boils off Vincent's armor and a vapor shoots out and engulfs the intruders. Senses heightened, Vincent bounces on the balls of his feet, ready for anything.

Intruders need to make a DC 15 WIS save, or drop whatever they're holding and dash away. 1Ki point spent to take the dodge action as a bonus action.

One of the guards flees in terror, but it's hardly the effect Vincent hoped for. Still, he easily avoids the flurry of weaponry and fire rays that are sent his way. He receives on minor burn on his shoulder, but that hardly slows him down.

Pomab's shouts echo shrilly in between spurts of flame that stream from his wand. "You idiots! Can't you hit anything?!"
