That night, dreams come. You don't remember them, only that you awake, freezing. Your rooms are ice cold, despite the coals glowing in the fireplaces. Your breath fogs and you feel it, a dark presence, there behind you! No. Outside? You look, your eyes drawn to the east.
Somewhere a woman screams, heartbreaking sorrow. And the echo of laughter in the night sky. A flicker of light on some hillside. Impossibly far away, it is just a tiny blur, but you know. How could you not? Albionii, the unicorn. It beckons.
Ideas?
Light to the east = morning.
Heartbreaking sorrow = mourning.
Albionii is giving me problems. I can’t see an anagram.
Albion is the old name for Britain, the suffix looks Latin.
Fortunately I went to the sort of school that taught Latin! Unfortunately I was rubbish at it. I’ve forgotten so much that even the Internet doesn’t help. The best I’ve got is "I was Britain (or possibly white)" - but I’m probably very wrong about that. Anyway - I suspect I’m overthinking that clue. Perhaps the DM just liked the name.
Laughter and dark presence? Generic evil?
Dunno.
I know our characters might not pick up on the clues (hence ooc), but if the DM is going to write clues then it’s kinda polite to try and use them.
