Do we know what type of Dragon it is? Also could you tell me a little more about the town so I can try and fit my character into whats there?

The Dragon is somewhat mysterious and not often spotted. (The tribute is left in a cave, rather than given to it on a public ceremony.) Rumor varies, but it may be a lighter metallic (brass, copper, gold).

The town is smallish, about fifty families. Situated between hot, dry mountains and the edge of a salty sea (semi-tropical), the main industries are fishing, gathering salt for export, and handycraftsmanship. The reason for the latter is that the dragons tribute demands include hand crafted items, so over fifty years, the town has developed marketable skill. Naturally, the townsfolk often grumble that the value of the tribute would make all the difference in their well being.

A further industry is shallow water barge shipping along the coast.
Dec 27, 2018 2:13 am
I should add that because the town isn't very large, some of the PCs may be from other places. Perhaps you're here temporarily (seeking opportunities and adventure) or maybe you have family here.

The town is called Allaya's Cove, by the way.
Dec 27, 2018 2:33 am
Right that should do nicely, thanks. Also do you mind if I roll for stats?

My concepts keep evolving. At this point I am thinking of a Kobold rouge that develops a relationship with a dragon patron. The Kobold in question has kleptomania, particularly for anything its patron it might like. I like the idea of a bronze kobold being hatched and then being exiled from his original group. After his exile he then tries to locate a patron. Once he finds one, I imagine they agree he only steals from bad people. He would be attracted to the town hoping to find his patron. Its late here and I am not being super clear but I think you get what I am going for.

Sure, you can roll for stats. Do that in this forum. If you're unsure, click the Advanced button below and Add a Basic die roll, then put a Reason in (can't be blank) and the dice to Roll.

Dice can have positive or negative modifiers (such as 1d20+4 or 1d6-1), but you can't add two kinds of dice together (such as 1d8+1d4+2). Multiple dice rolls can be added to a post, and multiple rolls in the same line of separated by commas.

Rolls

Sample stats roll - (4d6, 4d6, 4d6, 4d6, 4d6, 4d6)

4d6 : (1162) = 10

4d6 : (4143) = 12

4d6 : (1625) = 14

4d6 : (5253) = 15

4d6 : (4123) = 10

4d6 : (6621) = 15

Sample attack roll - (1d20+5, 1d8+3)

1d20+5 : (19) + 5 = 24

1d8+3 : (4) + 3 = 7

Dec 27, 2018 11:54 am
I have updated my concept in my last post. Lets try the rolls to see what is going on there.

TEST

Rolls

Test - (4d6, 4d6, 4d6, 4d6)

4d6 : (1224) = 9

4d6 : (1224) = 9

4d6 : (3422) = 11

4d6 : (1143) = 9

Dec 27, 2018 11:56 am
Well that seemed to work fine. Lets roll for stats.

Rolls

Stats - (4d6, 4d6, 4d6, 4d6, 4d6, 4d6)

4d6 : (6636) = 21

4d6 : (2666) = 20

4d6 : (2225) = 11

4d6 : (4443) = 15

4d6 : (1232) = 8

4d6 : (2423) = 11

Dec 27, 2018 11:58 am
So we have the following if I am not wrong.

18 (+4)
18 (+4)
9 (-1)
12 (+1)
7 (-2)
9 (-1)

Does that sound about right?

Dec 27, 2018 7:53 pm
ill see if i cant find the "guidelines" that one of the players posted to me when i was first learning also. standby
Dec 27, 2018 8:00 pm
so how do you want dem stats boss?
4d6 Drop lowest?
3d6 reroll 1's
4d6 reroll 1's
plain 3d6
point buy
or stat array?
Dec 27, 2018 8:21 pm
4d6 drop the lowest. If that sucks, you can take the standard array (15,14,13,12,10,8. IIRC).
Dec 27, 2018 9:08 pm
Appreciate the invite Qralloq. For character creation I'm not too committed to one class at the moment (right now monk or whispers Bard looks fun), I'll go ahead and roll stats first.

11, 14, 13, 10, 16, 13. I'll take it.

Dec 27, 2018 11:09 pm
Qralloq says:

Well I have an idea for a Copper Kobold that was expelled from his warren and from there drifted from city to city, finding hidey holes and only coming out at night to steal anything that he could put his hands on given its kleptomania. It did focus on equipment and resources but it does have a very nice coin and button collection going and given its copper it can never say no to gold or silver but it has an lust for gemstones. After being forced to leave its most recent city in a hurry, to the point where it had to leave everything behind, it decided it was time to find a patron. So now it has been drifting around following rumors of dragons, hoping to come across a copper dragon. That what has brought it to the city. I see him becoming an Arcane Trickster with his benefactor's guidance once he finds them.

Thats assuming that concept is okay with you Qralloq otherwise I will come up with something else :) I am pretty dead set on trying to play a rouge.

Qralloq, what's the divinity situation like in this campaign? If I were to play a cleric are the gods homebrew or are they published ones?

Heya Pious_Knight, good rolls. Both of those races are fine with me.
Dec 28, 2018 3:01 am
How are we doing hp and starting gold?0
Dec 28, 2018 4:47 am
So unless I am mistaken, we are rolling for wealth based on your class, you can find it on pg 143 of the player's handbook. The starting hit points can be found under the the class feature section in the player's handbook as well. So for example, since I am a rouge I am 8 + Con Mod (which for me is -1), so my starting HP is 7. For my gold, I am rolling 4d4 x 10GP.

Rolls

Gold - (4d4)

(1234) = 10

Dec 28, 2018 4:55 am
Warlock character submitted for approval.
Dec 28, 2018 5:05 am
As is the Rogue but I will need a hand with the Expertise part of the Rogue class, I am unsure the way proficiency works with the thieves tools.

I've 'approved' Whistler and Jovian83's PCs, but I haven't reviewed them yet. Today is a travel day for me, but I'll go over any submitted characters this weekend.

As to Expertise and Thieves Tools, Expertise doubles the Proficiency bonus. At level 1 your Proficiency Bonus is +2. The description for Thieves Tools on page 154 says "Proficiency with these tools lets you add your proficiency bonus to any ability checks you make to disarm traps or open locks." On page 177, it clarifies that picking locks and disarming traits are Dexterity ability checks. All told, if you select Thieves Tools as one of your two Expertise, your character's bonus to picking locks or disarming traps would be +4 +(Dexterity bonus).

Starting gold

Rolls

Wealth - (4d4)

(4431) = 12

Awesome thats what I thought I will take expertise in my thieves tools and stealth then. Is there a way I can alter my proficiency bonus for those two skills on my sheet or should I just make a note of it?

Also there are a couple of things I would like to discuss with the group. First whats everyone playing? I know we have a warlock but what else? Second, I just wanted to reassure everyone that as the rogue anything I find while roguing will be delivered back to the party so it can be shared evenly and you wont have to worry about Atrix's kleptomania. In game he'll come to see you as his warren but the real reason is out of character, I take the golden rule seriously.

you would want to just edit the skill's name to reflect the change i.e. {x} Stealth +6 {expertise} and don't mind the other number the site spits out or just put it on the bottom of your sheet, truthfully its up to you to remember your stats when you make the rolls
I use G'sheets for all my GP characters, I've got a good template going and i keep tweeaking it every time making it almost automated.
Like this: Hasan "Slice"'s Sheet and this will be getting updated too as the time goes by with better features :D it works well cause i have all my GP characters on 1 workbook so i can edit the games in a "fluid" motion.

I'm cool with that the easiest way is group share so yea im cool with that.

As for what i'm playing is a human (v.) fighter who uses the crossbow way more then he should. As part of the City watch I feel it is Hasan's job to investigate whats going on and keep the party on the rght side of the law? (i'm totally not lawful) but deffinatly listens to his supers very well!.

Well I will say that excel sheet is awesome and thanks for the help. I have updated my character sheet with a few more odds and ends. I have a weapons now that will do slashing, piercing and bludgeoning damage just in case. I have caltrops and ball bearings to throw down in case I need to beat a hasty exit when roguing. I have a backpack to easily carry around my various kits as well as a few empty vials and a heap of empty sacks so that I can carry whatever goodies I might come across while rouging.

Can I also just confirm, since my character is primarily ranged (he can get up close but with 7HP, I'd prefer not to), what rules are we using regarding shooting a bow into melee? I don't want to be that guy that accidentally hits a party member when aiming for the goblin :P
Last edited December 28, 2018 9:47 pm
Dec 28, 2018 9:54 pm
RAW (rules as written) Ranged attackes in melee suffer disadvantage (lesser of 2 rolls)

Sneak attack works with Light & ranged iirc, so you'll still get your sneak on. shooting into melee, is not a RAW deturant (unless DM says otherwise) That being said RAW has no "crit fails" (once again up to the DM)

Also thanks for the kind words on the Spreadsheet i've sunk probably the better part of a working week into it and its still not prim and proper yet.
Dec 28, 2018 10:00 pm
I always have a great appreciation for a good excel spreadsheet. Also so long as the party has someone that doesnt mind getting up close, my character should be able to combo pack tactics, flanking and stealthing to ensure I end up with advantage on a bow shot even into melee, to ensure I get the additional sneak damage. Thats assuming I'm reading the rules correctly.
Dec 28, 2018 10:03 pm
My character is mechanically complete, I just need to finish the backstory.

I think the roster is currently:

Rogue (Jovian)
Warlock (Whistler)
Fighter (Cave)
Monk (Me)
Barbarian (Pious)
and not sure on Campeador.

So plenty of front-lining for sneak attack.

oh yea as a rogue its way more simple to get sneak now,
To get sneak you need: Adv on attk roll. (i.e. Hidden/stealth) OR be enemy to be engaged with a friendly regardless if they know youre there.

As for Flanking that is one of thoes fun rules thats up to the DM but them focused fire should do well, I understand we have at least 1 martial class (monk

Even better when you get to 2nd lvl, and you can hide as a bonus! gives you an additional attempt to get that sneak off.

I think you may have gotten me and Jovian back the front since I am the Rogue but thanks for the update, that's really helpful. The fact we have a Fighter, Monk and a Barbarian means that the part should have plenty of upfront distracting muscle, so I can come up from behind and do what I do well. Also thanks for the info CJ, I am really keen on making sure I understand how the rogue functions and how I can make sure that I do my best to benefit the party. With the way Altrix is shaping up, I'm not too worried about stealth particularly after second level, since he is shaping up to be a dead set ghost.

We'll here's hoping! Does anyone know if 5e has the equivalent of smoke sticks from 3.5? I was hoping to have something I could throw into a building, grounds or room, yell fire and cause some panic in case I ever need a distraction to get in somewhere but I can't seem to find anything.
Dec 28, 2018 10:50 pm
not 100% sure on that one,

I'm starting to plan out my arcane trickster spells. I know I am mostly going to be taking utility spells to help with cover and stealth but I am sorely tempted to take booming blade 2d8+2d6 damage at third level is not too shabby. Message also seems like a really solid utility spell.

@Qralloq: Will a familiar count as an ally for the purpose of sneak attack and pack tactics? If so, I will definitely be taking find familiar. Hell, even if it doesn't I might still take it just so I have some aerial recon available before I sneak in.

No, familiars can't attack so they can't be counted as an ally that way.

That's fine, I thought as much but I wanted to check anyway, thanks! I still might take it though for that sweet, sweet aerial recon but I have some time to work it out.

Hi all! No idea yet what I am playing, but am excited to be here.

Stats: 13, 15, 12, 10, 13, 12. Not great, but not terrible either. I can live with that.

EDIT: I am getting a strong urge to play a dragonborn paladin, although I am tempted to take a variant human instead.

I've approved all five submitted characters. I'll review them for compliance to the rules, probably tonight.

At this point you could try avatar checks, I.e., posting in here but as your character. Maybe consider a quick "on camera" paragraph of why you are in this town, either permanently, temporarily, or passing through.

Altrix entered the raucous tavern, pulling his hood as far over his face as it would go, keeping his head down and darting between the legs of the other patrons. He let out a sigh as he saw the single table in the back of the room with heavy shadows cast across it, thanks to the roaring fire. He made his way towards the table and he seemed almost clumsy, bumping into a number of patrons and a one point tripping and falling onto a table. Altrix apologised hastily to the owners of the table and continued on his way. Reaching his table, he reached into his cloak and pulled out a number of coin purses freshly cut from the belts of their owners. As he placed his order, he idly flipped a foreign coin between his fingers, with a grin on his scaly face. In short order, his meal arrived and the meat was so rare that it was still bloody. As he ate, he surveyed the other patrons and he was disappointed when very little caught his eye.

As he ate, his thoughts turned to why he had come to this town. Perhaps this would finally be the town? His mind drifted back to when Garu had cast him out of the warren, bloodied and beaten. The King had decried him as an abomination because of the colour of his scales, though if Altrix was honest with himself his constant pranks against his warren mates had probably not helped his cause. As he thought about the King, his claws clenched and he let a faint growl. There would come a day when Altrix would slip a blade between his ribs and it was a day he was looking forward to. After he had been cast out, he moved from city to city following the same pattern wherever he went. He would set up a bolt hole and emerge at night to steal whatever he needed and whatever took his fancy.

The tavern door being flung open boldly pulled Altrix from his thoughts. An aquamarine tiefling that was richly dressed made their way into the bar and began to speak with the bartender in hushed tones. Altrix realised that this was some sort of travelling musician. He had already been run out of one town and lost almost everything, he didn't need it to happen here, especially when this was the most solid lead he had in months but the urge was almost overpowering. As his internal debate raged, he kept his eyes affixed on the tiefling. He was up out of his chair and making his way towards the figure before he had even registered the golden ring with a small ruby on his finger. Once again, he tripped as he approached the Tiefling and grabbed his hand on the way down, slipping the ring from his finger and hurriedly making his way from the tavern.

When he arrived back in his bolt hole, that was strewn with detritus, much of it worthless he began viewing the ring. After a few moments, he growled and threw it in the corner. The ring was a fake, no doubt worn for appearance sake. As he settled down to sleep, Altrix was glad that at the very least, he had slipped the stolen coin purses into the musician's possession on the way out the door and had a quiet word to the bouncer. That should make his night plenty interesting. Altrix grinned widely as he drifted off to sleep.

Trev Flameborn walks into town. This is his first time in a town in the past six months. Trev is a 6’ 6" Red scales behemoth of a humanoid. Trev is an outlander he wanders from place to place searching for a place to live that is peaceful.
Trev heard tell there was a dragon terrorizing this village and wants to help out. When He arrives he learns that the dragon has not been around. Being Dragonborn he is scorned by some people because of his ancestry so when he hears about a dragon he pursues it until he finds it and conquers it.

Review of Altrix

-There's a spot for your Initiative bonus near Armor Class: record as +5
-Weapon damage: you should on the sheet note that your rapier, bow, club, and handaxe do +5 damage (Dex bonus as they have the Light property)
-Note: wearing scale mail gives you Disadvantage on stealth. Also scale mail limits your AC to 16 not 19 (AC 14 + max +2 Dex bonus)

Other than that, he looks good to go

-You indicated a Lightfoot Hafling and indicated the Lightfoot racial ability Naturally Stealthy, but used the racial Con bump for a Stout instead of a CHA bump for a Lightfoot
-You choose Survival as a skill, but that wasn't an option for you. Did you mean to click Stealth?

Rest looks good

Review of Iathos

-the Sage background gives you two more languages
-Keep track of your spell slots somewhere, in the Notes, or as an ability: something like "Spell Slots, lvl 1: 2/2"
-I'm not sure which Otherworldly Patron you chose. Please indicate.
-You have three cantrips instead of two. Was the third a boon from your patron?

Other than those, good to go

-Please indicate which ancestry you took? Brass, Gold, or Red. That also affects the shape of your breath weapon.
-You have two too many Skill Proficiency. You get Athletics, Survival from Outlander, and two from Barbarian
- I'm not sure where the Alert ability comes from. Could you point that out?
-I'm not sure how you start with Speed 40. Could you also point that out to me?

I have made the required changes and have swapped the Scale Mail for Studded Leather. Is my AC now 17 (12 + Dex Mod)? From what I understand it doesn't give me disadvantage on stealth either?

Alright, this character is recycled (Cave and I think Camp will recognize them) so some stuff got left in or glossed over, will fix it all up. For the Con bump I put +1 to my WIS and the +2 to DEX, while leaving my natural 14 for CON.

Inside the kitchen stands a Halfling over a large pot brewing with a stew. With long brown hair, tan skin tones, and clothes which look more suited for a tundra then a kitchen in Allaya's Cove. Pouring in the chunks of fresh goat meat with just a pinch of salt Ruby reflects on her position. It's true she wasn't expecting to remain in the settlement for so long, but the chance to have a proper roof over her head in such far lands coupled with the job of practicing her craft was too much to pass. Has it truly been two months since she was separated from her teacher, two months since she was told it was time for her to discover the world?

"Soup's done! Somebody bring me a pint would ya?" Regardless she was happy with her circumstances, Allaya's Cove provided intrigue, and these rumblings of a dragon has caught her ear.

I see that a Barbarian gains Fast Movement at fifth level, but not at first. I don't see how a Dragonborn gets a feat at first level, either. Could you provide a page reference for these?
Dec 30, 2018 2:40 pm
@somebox: Ruby is good!

@whistler: right, studded leather does not provoke Disadvantage on Stealth, so that's a better choice for you. For your weapons, the intent of the Attack Bonus box is what you add to a d20. For you, that is +7 (i.e., to hit) which comes from +2 (Proficiency Bonus since you are proficient with the weapons) +5 more for your Dexterity since the weapons are either Ranged or Light. The Damage box on the sheet is what you roll for damage. So instead of 1d8 for a rapier, put 1d8+5 (again, you add the Dexterity bonus to damage for Ranged or Light weapons). You can keep the (P) for piercing, add that is also useful information.

Ahh, that makes sense. In D&D 3/3.5, every character got a feat at first level and I think that Barbarians did get Fast Movement right away. Not the case in 5e. They made feats much more powerful, and harder to get in this edition.

Dec 31, 2018 7:24 pm
Hey all! I'm in transit from Chicago to the UK today. Will post a first in character post tomorrow after getting back home.

Qralloq my patron is the Hexblade. The third cantrip is a racial ability for the Levistus tiefling sub-race:

Legacy of Stygia: You know the Ray of Frost cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the Armor of Agathys spell as a 2nd-level spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the Darkness spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

"Carefully... carefully."

Sweat beads on Iathos' lavender brow as he gingerly decants a few drops of a crimson liquid into a thin beaker of clear fluid. A mixture of intense concentration, excitement, and fear play out across his face as the doplets splash in.

KA-BAM!

The admixture explodes into a cloud of foul-smelling green smoke, from the center of which Iathos can be heard swearing fervently in a mixture of languages.

"Drats! That was the last of my griffon blood. Damnable tome has led me astray again! I swear by the Heavens that Al-Jabar is a moron. His formulae are flawed!"

As the smoke clears, a tall, slender Tiefling is revealed. His normally pale lavender-violet skin is stained a sickening yellow-green, which under other circumstances might complement his eyes nicely. His clothing is tattered and scorched from the blast, and his onyx rams' horns are spattered with a stinking ooze.

Rubbing his horns in frustration, he grumbles to himself, "Well, nothing for it now. I'll get precious little done with the rest of this accursed day." After a quick bath and change of clothing, he dejectedly heads to the town tavern to drown his sorrows.

and Action Surge

Feb 22, 2019 8:00 pm
I will take average hp.

Level 2 gets me chi, flurry of blows, step of the wind, and the other one I can't remember.

Also unarmored movement, where Ruby lears to take bigger steps.

Sheet will be updated later today.
Feb 22, 2019 9:17 pm
I have gained Spellcasting, Divine Smite, and the Great Weapon Fighting Style. Took the average hp. Will pick spells later.

Do we gain these now or after a long rest?
Feb 22, 2019 10:33 pm
Okay so Level Two Rouge lets me use Cunning Action. That lets me Dash, Disengage, or Hide as a bonus action at the end of my round. That should be quite helpful given that it means that he can shoot at a target, hide and shoot again making sneak attack damage much easier to get. The sneak attack damage remains at 1d6 for the moment. I am going to just take the average of five since Atrix's constitution sucks. Can you tell he was the first DnD character I built?
Feb 22, 2019 11:16 pm
one of the better mechanicals of that is to hide first, then shoot to get the bonus that turn. what path rogue you thinking of going?
Feb 23, 2019 12:21 am
Honestly? I would prefer to go with a Swashbuckler but it was a class that I came across after I built Atrix, he is more of an Arcane Trickster build.
Feb 23, 2019 12:28 am
yea arcane tricksters is pretty nice, have you see the mastermind one?

Yeah, I have it doesn't appeal to me very much, Arcane Trickster is my second choice because hey, everyone likes a little magic! Thanks for the suggestion though, I appreciate it.
Feb 23, 2019 12:40 am
I was thinkign mastermind cause of the help from a distance while still getting the benefits of the other rogue abilities.
Feb 23, 2019 11:32 pm
Ahoy Qralloq!

I'll take average hp (5) + 2 for con.

For eldritch invocations, there's been a few iterations by WoTC. I'd like to take:

1. Fiendish Vigor
2. Improved Pact weapon

The latter is from UA: https://media.wizards.com/2017/dnd/downloads/June5UA_RevisedClassOptv1.pdf

If that's ok?

For my new spell I'll take Shield, from the Hexblade patron spell list.

Apr 21, 2019 6:48 pm
I usually avoid doing this, but I'm going to dive into a stereo type. I'm going to make the dragoniest dragon who ever dragoned. Dragbon born sorceror with a draconic bloodline. I figure his back story (very rough at this point) is that he spent his first few years feral before being given a very rudimentary education by druids/monks/hermits (whatever the plot needs/prefers). When his sorcerous powers start to manifest, he's going to go looking for dragons who may be able to offer some guidance, which is why he's headed towards this village. Sound good?

Edit: HP is actually plus 4 because of draconic bloodline. Okay, Character is submitted. I have a few more things to iron out, like gear and spells so he's not combat ready, but he is RP ready

Review of Hehsh, Dragonborn Sorcerer, Hermit
- I think your Wisdom should be 13 instead of 12
- not sure how you qualified for the Warcaster feat
- way too many skills: should have 4 (2 from Sorcerer, 2 from hermit)
- check boxes by Con and Cha for proficiency in those savings throws
- speed should by 30
- at second level you know 3 first level spells, so choose another
- keep track some where of your spell slots, like an Ability that says "Spell slots, lvl 1: 3/3"

Aug 9, 2019 4:16 am
Hello ReisqueBoots, welcome to the game. In case you need to know what the current party composition is we have:

A Human archer fighter (Cavejohnson)
A Dragonborn Draconic sorcerer (optimumsquare)
And a Halfling monk (me)
Aug 9, 2019 4:27 am
And they're all level 2. Got any ideas for a character you'd like to play?
Aug 9, 2019 4:47 am
Hola. Welcome.
Aug 9, 2019 4:57 am
Thanks for letting me know about the current party, should help round things out/make picking easier. I haven't thought too hard on it just yet but I'm thinking of going with a Barbarian class-wise. Also, I'm going to go ahead and roll my stats in this here post (I assume do the same as people did previously in this thread) and then start putting the mathy bits together in a sheet.

Rolls

Stat 1 - (4d6)

(2665) = 19

Stat 2 - (4d6)

(3135) = 12

Stat 3 - (4d6)

(1556) = 17

Stat 4 - (4d6)

(6622) = 16

Stat 5 - (4d6)

(6621) = 15

Stat 6 - (4d6)

(2511) = 9

Aug 9, 2019 4:58 am
So I believe that's a 17, 11, 16, 14, 14, 8?

EDIT: Character sheet (mostly, I believe!) done and submitted! I wasn't sure if I'm supposed to be building at Level 1 or Level 2 or not, so there's still stuff to take out (if level 1, noted on the sheet as "IF LVL 2") or HP to roll (if level 2).

Also I apologize for the name but I had to.

Hah, yeah 1 HP isn't too good - but thankfully I have the con to make up for it, so it's not as bad as it could be. Sitting at 19 hp right now, which considering other classes have like a d8 or d6 for their HP that's not too shabby for level 2.

Hello everybody!

I've submitted Tarquin, a NG half-orc sorcerer. Am I supposed to level him up, or start at level 1?

I like the early levels, but I don't want to be a drag on the party.

Maybe a bard, druid or rogue to round the party out.

Leave it with me. I’ll get something knocked up.

Not a problem, have fun. Anything from official WOTC sources is fine, with the obvious caveat that if it looks like an obvious exploit, I'll be less interested.

Ha. I have no interest in exploits, obvious or otherwise.
I’m looking at a mountain dwarf rogue (assassin), background guild artisan (leather worker).
It’ll be std point buy.

Potted history.
Mavis Redleather worked underground sourcing exotic hides for her guild. Traditional dwarven techniques for dispatching foes tend to leave huge battleaxe scars, these reduce the hide’s value. Mavis’s skill is in clean kills, and the use of poisons to minimise damage to the product. She’s working to earn as much gold as she can so she and her fiancé can set up their own business (and Mavis has big dreams), but she also has strong sense of order and will not ignore evils being perpetrated on the weak even if there’s no profit in it.

I’ll stick with dependable over fun for my first PbP. I have no idea how to role play the potted plant I’d inevitably turn into.

its simple... you just plant yourself right there and wait the 1-10 minutes XDDDD. But i get it.

Love the idea, go for it!

Withdrawn Tarquin, submitted Mavis.
I don't know what equipment y'all have at level 5. I upgraded her leather to studded leather, gave her two vials of basic poison and said she had 50gp. Let me know if that's okay.

I'll read this forum for the "previously on Tribute to Dragons".

How does introduction to the party work? I'll assume I don't know them and just introduce myself in the thread.

Great. I'll review it later today, but I've accepted Mavis into the game. I'll introduce you into the current scene as well.

Welcome to level 6! Please let me know what choices you make I this thread. You can either take the average hit points, or take you chances with a roll.

I'll take average hp.
Mavis gets expertise in two things.
I can't really justify expertise in thieves' tools (she never uses them).
I'll choose insight as she spends her time reflecting on the behaviour of the skylanders.
The other one is trickier. Persuasion, investigation or slight of hand? None really fit well. I'll choose persuasion as I've noticed that I tend to give the benefit of the doubt to people when I haven't the foggiest idea what they're saying.
Is that okay?
