Ok Vorn, next I'd like you to choose a magic item and then we can work on your backstory.

Dawn's Tears

This tin flute enchants almost all who hear its haunting melodies. It’s intricately carved handle is covered with mythical fey dancing and playing.

Frostsong

A beautiful longbow that appears to be made from blue ice that glows with a faint blue hue. The bowstring seems to be made from some kind of frozen sinew.

Soul Drinker

The wicked looking blade of this dagger is formed from volcanic glass. Demonic sigils are engraved onto the blade and glow with a strange orange light. The pommel of the hilt looks like a human woman screaming in unescapable torment.

The Staff of the Hunter

This long wooden staff was cleary made for ceremonial purposes. It is made from solid oak and various teeth, tufts of fur and other hunting trophies have been tied to the top of the staff. To the experienced natural guardian the wood feels slightly different, almost as if it were alive.

A Firestone

You have found a warm red glowing stone about the size of an ostrich egg. The stone is sprinkled with orange and yellow fragments.

Oooh! All sound really good! Am I able to know roughly what each does? Or do I pick based on gut feeling? XD for the flute, by enchant do you mean mind control? Or just listening to sinple orders and stuff? Finished nirvernia too.

OOC:
Nope. Just pick one based on feeling. However, I assure you they are all very good and should completely change the way you play your character in some way.

ooooh... dang the flute and bracers sound cool... hrmmmmmmm... ok I think i’ll take the flute. I vision nir as more of a manipulator, who likes a good brawl and fight, but would prefer to scam people etc if ya get what i mean XD

Cool. Now I'm fine with your character owning her own ship. The party even has a plan to travel to a newly discovered continent in the future but for now I need to know 2 things.

1. What caused your character to leave her ship and travel north?
2. How did you find your item of power?
Jan 3, 2019 7:04 am
Hmmm... aite well ah think that ah would ne’er leave mah ship ever, but if ah really do, it’ll have to be because ah was forced off it to protect mah crew or somethin. Yeah, like dat. Maybe ah was forced to search for somethin for someone who somehow managed to take over mah ship and now ah need ta get it back ya know?

Hmmmm... well for that, maybe ah stumbled upon it one day in a market or somethin, liked it and bought it. Ya know what ah mean?

Ooh Marooned? That sounds cool.

Yeap! That sounds about raight.

That's good enough for now. Now as to why you decided to travel north. You have travelled north past the northernmost city of Northwatch into a frontier like area of mostly untamed wilderness. Are you running from something or looking for something?
OOC:
Dawn's Tears is a magic flute that has 3 charges. It is obviously fey in origin and it sounds very dreamlike when you play it. As an action, you may use a charge to cast the minor image cantrip or you may use all three charges to cast the sleep spell. It regains a single charge every dawn.

Ooooh! That sounds interestin!

Most likely lookijg for something. Nirvernia loves her ship and her crew(she has a special someone there too in the form of her first mate, who is female if thats ok). So she will be searching desperately for whatever she needs to look for to get her ship and crew back.
Jan 7, 2019 7:43 am
Hmm. Looking for someone perhaps? Maybe trying to get some information on the person who took over your ship? Find out their history, weakness or something to exploit / blackmail them with?
Jan 7, 2019 7:46 am
Oh and please feel free to come up with any details you like given your backstory. The more you create the more I will integrate it into the story. For a little campaign background, you in the Immerald Kingdom, and the Empress does offer mercy to convicts who are useful but commit non-violent crimes. They are often used as soldiers, scouts or colonists. There is a new colony being established north of the city of Northwatch.

Okie! I have an idea actually.

So basically, Nia here was one day on a mission to steal from the royal family of a country. During the process, she seduced and got the princess to fall in love with her, and despite her best attempts, fell in love with the proncess too. So after stealing the treasure, the two went to their pirate life. However recently, the princess was captured by that same royal family and nia’s ship and crew were caught and taken by the family. So now, nia needs to find a way to get her ship, crew and lover back and exact revenge on that royal family, who are well... snobs and uk.

And she's on the run? I like it. Maybe the treasure she stole was the flute?

Duke is here now. He is non-temple Priest of Tempus. Spent most of his life in Carpenter's Guild. He has went from apprentice to master carpenter. He tends to end discussions with force rather than talk. Most often seen in chain mail and longsword. He is a semi strong and good looking, but not to bright.

Yeap! Sounds good Arina! And nice to meetcha Duke!
Jan 9, 2019 2:52 pm
Ok Duke. Can you see the list of magic items above? Please select one and then I'll tell you what it does. Nivernia and Duke will be travelling north together. So how did a priest and a pirate end up travelling together lol?
Jan 10, 2019 6:28 am
"A Firestone" sounds possibly interesting. Well if we are traveling by land that wouldn't be to hard to imagine. Duke isn't tied down and traveling together is always safest. Duke is looking for something new in his life.

Firestone is an excellent choice for a cleric. How did you find it? It is an incredibly powerful magic item, and you felt it calling you. How do you feel about a religious experience? A calling to travel north?
@Nivernia: you felt your flute calling you too. You simply had to take it.

Duke recovered the Firestone after a fight. Appears his attitude wasn't take well. After all three of those attackers went down he picked it up as a trophy for the battle.
