"I shall go next, somebody get ready to catch us if we fall." Ruby is not much of a climber, but she won't back down from the obstacle. Thanks to her small size if anyone looks over the edge she feels confident they won't spot her, at least not immediately.

Valinar climbs up adeptly, though not quietly. Trev follows again, with just as much natural skill.
Ruby, however, becomes stuck half way up, her shorter legs finding it difficult to find purchase in the same path.
Almost as if they have planned it, you hear the thrum of bows. Fortunately for Ruby, they appear inept, and two arrows clang of the rocks beside her.
That was the surprise round.
Initiative, please. If you beat 15, you can act.
There are two hobgoblin up above on either side of the cliffs, drawing arrows. Valinar and Trev will need to make one more Athletics check vs DC13 and spend a turn moving to reach them.
Ruby will need to beat a DC 13 Athletics check to either go back down, or up to the top of the chute.
From the bottom, they're 75' in distance from you.
Ruby, however, becomes stuck half way up, her shorter legs finding it difficult to find purchase in the same path.

Atrix heard the bows sing and looked up to see the arrows thankfully miss Ruby. Atrix looked up into the cliffside and even with his vision, he only saw shadows. He aimed his bow, waiting for an opportunity to strike but as he did, he took cover in the bushes around the base of the cliffside.

is your rage as a bonus or an action? if bonus, you should be able to attack when you get to range. you could even rage and use that for ath checks cause adv on str checks. but as with all things dms words rule.Last edited February 8, 2019 7:34 pm

My intention was that you needed to spend the entire round moving, i.e., using the Dash action to reach him. So you can either move partway and attack air, or move the whole way and attack next round. load next
