Gameplay - The Dragon Who Took Too Little

Barb tilts her head to one side as the contents of the note are conveyed to her, before giving a light hearted laugh and shrugging her broad shoulders on the subject of magic. "Nothin' I've really spent much time thinkin' about either. If I'd known that note wasn't even for me to read, since I already know I'm trustworthy an' all, I wouldn't have squinted at it so hard while I was waitin'!" Then, casting her gaze away from the group to any signs of rocks, she gestured towards the one she happened to be perched on prior to the groups arrival. "Do you reckon it might mean this here one?"

Hehsh begins examining the boulder, and finds little. However, continuing to search, he finds a stone the size of your knee that looks like it is a perfectly round sphere. Closer inspection reveals small seams along the stone. Opening it you find a small conch shell.

What do you do?

"Lucky! Nice find." Taking inspiration Ruby picks up the shell, inspecting it for magical...ness. "These things can't be that hard to figure out. She thinks out loud.

Ruby is unable to determine the properties of the conch shell, other than she may be able to "hear the sea" if she holds it to her ear.

Hehsh gives it a try. He's never heard the sea before, but he seems to like it. "Maybe it will become clear once we reach the water."

Ruby and Hehsh can indeed hear what sounds to be the ocean. After about twenty seconds, however, they both begun to feel faint, and realize that they seem to be suffocating!

Indeed. Hers a description of the spot:

You travel through temperate forest for a few hours and as the sun hangs low in the afternoon sky, you come across a wide river. You hear it first, the rushing roar of rapids. When you see it, you see below the rapids, a wide expanse of calm water, working near the edges from the chutes off the upper flow.

You're now standing in the rocky bank of the river above a calm pool.
