I wasn't truly expecting them to still be here. It's nice of them to keep this place so orderly. I think if we talk to this terrorist it would be wise to do it here and head out shortly there after. "
OOC:
Hasan is more concerned for the family vs. spending another day with them absent. also i think we could sack 2 hours so we can interrogate and rest. maybe interrogate in turns?

Valinar, after seeing Iathos secured in the farmhouse, searches the farm and finds no one else. The Plover family and their two farm hands are gone, along with an ox, a few goats, and chickens. It appears that the chickens were slaughtered and roasted, but the goats and people were marched off to the southeast (farther inland) which is the way they came, along with whatever food could be found - the orchard trees have begin thoroughly picked clean off any even partially ripe fruit - using the farm's ox and heavily laden wagon. He can't get precise numbers but he believes that there were somewhere around two dozen hobgoblins in the excursion.

While it is obvious that (at least) five hobgoblin stayed at the farm, abother group of perhaps the same size went north.

I would suggest doing the same as camp the only difference would be I would like to stay here with a watch. Just in case they come back we aren’t suprosed

OOC:
If we are staying the night I could use a short or long rest depending on if I'm needed to be on watch. Qralloq would there be any practical benefit to me rolling a cooking check (wis+prof I'm guessing?)

Good idea. If you beat say a TN 15 I'll give the eaters of said feast a +1 on their Recovery checks.

Since they aren't going anywhere, Ruby takes inventory of the Hobgoblin's food supplies and uses what she can to make a vegetable medley which she serves with the roasted chicken to her companions. "Hopefully the Plover's don't mind us using this, would be a shame for it to go to waste."

Good job. Ruby prepares a meal and lays it on the table. The warmth of the smells does as much to bolster your spirits as it will nourish you.

+1 on Recovery rolls for those who take a Short Rest. Note: there isn't any reason to wait for Iathos to wake before the others use a Short Rest. If anyone comes upon you, you might need the health. If you are taking a Short Rest, give a short description including possibly eating, and make your hit die roll.

"We have a good idea which direction the Plovers were taken, and how much opposition to expect, but interrogating our prisoner might gain us additional information. It's a nasty business all around."

Valinar chews his food thoughtfully.

"I was interrogated under torture once, you know. In the dungeons of Calishah, by the Grand Vizier himself. Myself, and my oath-brother, Orthordir. He died saving my life as we made our escape. That's how I came to possess this double-scimitar. It was his."

That is a noble thing to do picking up the weapon of a friend and doing honor to their name. Looks down and pats Ann I know how that works I too fight for a loved one. If we survive long enough I might just tell you of her.

Valinar flinches slightly at the phrase, 'noble thing to do'. An involuntary reaction, hardly perceptible, and Valinar quickly recovers. "I look forward to learning Ann's story."
OOC:
I wondered whether that should include some skill checks to spot, but decided you can choose whether your PC caught it or not. Or however our DM wants to handle it.

Honestly as of now with the party being so new my PC wouldn’t care.

"I don't have a family to fight for anymore, I suppose that means I fight for just myself." Ruby says solemnly. With resolve she continues. "But, there are others who need our help, so I can fight for them too." Turning to the noble Valinar she asks "How did you end up in a dungeon, if I may ask?"
OOC:
IC Ruby would see the hesitation coupled with Valinar's previous statement as something tragic. Although I am also just nosy.
