With Trev and Hasan leading, you are able to follow the tiny signs of the five hobgoblins that left the farm passing through the woods, sticking to game trails where they can, and sometimes doubling back when they came to an impassable stretch. They clearly are unfamiliar with the terrain.

Are you are continuing through a low ravine, several of you begin to feel the hairs on your neck stand up. The sound of nature have silenced, the way they did when a dangerous predator is about, and something seems unnatural about a spot in the ravine about 50 feet in. You warn your comrades, realizing that you are headed into an ambush farther into the ravine. The exact nature of the ambush eludes you, but you do know that the again group of hobgoblins came this way.

What do you do?

Trev holds up his hand and whispers to his comrades. Move no further I think our hobgoblin friends are lying in wait ahead we should back track and come in from the sides and scout them and then ambush them as they wait.
Jan 22, 2019 8:34 am
Iathos nods at Trev's plan. He carefully draws his longsword and readies his shield; trying to take a bit of cover behind any nearby tree.
Jan 22, 2019 9:17 am
Valinar nods. "This is a good plan. However, my armor makes it near-impossible to go sneaking about; I would only give us away. I will stay here while you flank whatever is down there. Fear not, I'll not go charging in: when you fall upon them I will attack from here and we will have them beset on two fronts."
OOC:
Activate Divine Senses.

We need a better look as Ruby cautioned stealth versus full frontal attack so if one of our stealthier friends want to go take a look that would be beneficial

Qralloq sent a note to campeador

"Beware. I sense a single undead creature down there. Whether it is all we face, or if it's somehow part of a hobgoblin raiding party, that is for our brave scouts to find out."

Ruby silently grabs her staff with a slow twirl. "I shall be apart of the scouting party, one undead should be easier then salting meat."
Jan 22, 2019 7:49 pm
OOC:
so it's just ruby? for the scout?
"If you want some assistance I could possible help as well.

OOC:
If you have good stealth go for it. I know Camp and I have crap stealth so we are no goes.
Jan 22, 2019 8:18 pm
OOC:
Iathos has disadvantage on stealth roles due to his armor. If Ruby could scout the position without engaging and report back, maybe we could ambush the ambushers?
Jan 22, 2019 9:52 pm
OOC:
Ideally Atrix since he has stealth expertise, Ruby has +6 and I'm not sure what Hasan has (your sheets aren't public :P) but I'm guessing it's sneak-worthy good.

OOC:
OH?? I thought i put it up. but its also fun to be so mysterious and not to meta.
"Come, Lets not let the light wait much longer."

I'm back guys, sorry had a leave of absence for my girlfriend's birthday.
Let me see what I can discover before we charge in again." Altrix said making his way forward, before pausing briefly,"If you hear screaming, that probably means that they have found me."

With that Altrix made his way into the ravine, moving between the shadows and foliage.
OOC:
*Sigh* Should I just start screaming now?

Altrix, Hasan, and Ruby attempt to sneak into the probably-a-trap ravine. While Ruby and Hasan do sterling sneaks, Altrix steps on a loud, cracking branch. For reasons we don't yet know, he then runs back toward the others leaving Ruby and Hasan to face the unknown without him.
OOC:
The running away was based on your comment on the OOC thread.
A lone zombie (a fresh human corpse) perks up and begins moving toward you.

Initiative and Perception rolls please (Hasan has rolled Perception, albeit poorly).
Jan 24, 2019 12:52 am
OOC:
Fair enough, once I had given myself away the idea was to take off running and yelling, having whatever the hell was there chase me and hopefully pass over the other two. If that doesn't happen, Altrix will realise he isn't being chased and come back to help in the fight, probably after trying to reroll stealth.
