You can see Hehsh breath freely underwater, despite whatever personal horror and trauma that may trigger.

Ruby?

Ruby dunks her head with near reckless abandon at Hehsh's confirmation.

Ruby had to fight the urge to not breathe in the water but peering to her suffocation, it is suddenly easy. And she can breathe! Underwater!

Ruby would holler in celebration, only to realize she probably still can't talk underwater. Still, this gave her an idea; taking a particularly large lungful of air her head emerges from the water, wiping it from her face. "Right, I'm not touching anymore magical objects." She sounds mildly irked, feeling like an unwitting test subject. Speaking of science... She tries to breathe the air.

While looking underwater, both Hehsh and Ruby will notice a small underwater cave that goes under the edge of the rapids, about ten feet below the surface.

"To be fair we wern't sure if it was magical."

Hasan looks in a semi amazement and mild fright.

"Well give in an earful, there's a cave system and lets just say if I'm wrong about it I'll cook dinner for the whole resistance." Despite her near-death experience Ruby sounds eager to dive ahead as it were.

"Don't you think we could. You know have them send an emissary or something."

Hasan begins to look a bit worried with the talk/idea of having to be submerged

"Hasan, we're the emissaries. That's our job. Don't worry, the water is fine." Ruby can't quite wrap her head around why anyone would be afraid, they won't even suffocate!

"Right but that bird thing. Like we didn't have to go far before we found it/it found us."

Hehsh dips his head out of water. "Hasan, you're going to go swimming. There's no way around it." He dips his head back under water for a breath and then comes back up. "Don't act like you don't need a bath. You filthy ape."

"We still have to go underwater. That's the key here Hasan." Ruby also takes a dip to grab another breath. Deciding to take matters into her own hands she grabs the shell and shoves it up against Hasan's ear, having to jump just to reach his head.

"Bathing and swimming are 3 totally different things." Hasan responds sharply. Hasan struggles against the attempt to put the shell to him.
