The 5 hobgoblins nearby move to attack, but the hippogriffs snap and drive them back forming a defensive line against them while you get your legs under you and prepare. You can see the hobgoblins call for help and a second squad runs toward you. They're preparing to attack in a concerted effort and decimate the hippogriffs.

Zoboanth had flitting around her mother, talking excitedly in rapid draconic.

The three of you that rolled better than a 10 can act.

Garth takes a look at the spike holding the chained dragon. If he think he has any chance to remove it he will give up his attack to do that. Also, as someone who has been around a forge, would it make it easier to release the spike if I made it red hot first? Not the chain, as I am not sure on the dragons immunity. Just the spike.

If there is no way to move the spike...I guess I lose initiative while checking and will fight the incoming enemies.

The chains are bolted to the stakes. You could try to pry the stake from the ground, but they look fairly solid and the dragon hasn't done that, or you could undo the bolt. That would likely take strength and time, less if you had the proper tool.

"Here we go!" Hasan says as he pulls out his handcrossbow. Loading it up he takes a shot at the incoming Hobgobos.

Garth attempts to open the bolt. He realizes it may make him open to an attack but feels the dragon would be their best ally. He yells to the baby dragon flitting about.

Hehsh and his hippogriff leap into the air, and as they pass overhead, Hehsh lines up three and spits lightning. The middle one ducks partially out of the way, but the other two get struck fully.

H1 -8 (Hasan shot)
H2 -9 (Ruby hit)
H3 -10 (lightning)
H4 -5 (lightning)
H5 -10 (lightning)

The first two gang up on Ruby, but are clearly confused by her mad technique.
The three fling daggers at Hehsh (disadvantage, because of the hippogriff's body). One strikes him for 3, but they other two strike the hippogriff (for 8).

Hehsh needs to make a Dexterity(Ride) with disadvantage, DC 13, or fall (from 10' up).

Here we go. Also, perception check because weren't their bigger nastier things hanging out there like giants and trolls? If he sees them and if he stays on, Hehsh is going to throw some Chromatic orbs at those things, if not Chromatic orbs for the hobgoblin
