With no nowhere to run, the giants fight desperately. Alalla and Ug each feel the maddening pain of their gaze (Al takes 32 psychic damage, Ug takes 30 psychic damage), and one of them manages to land a solid hit on the raging barbarian (after resistance, Ug takes 10 bludgeoning damage). It is not nearly enough to deter this adventuring party, however.

The fomorians quail at the sight of T-Ras, particularly as the druid dinosaur takes a chunk out of the shoulder of one, then shakes it to the ground, where Ug's maul caves in its ugly skull.

Alalla's sword, Vincent's arrows, and Reòthadh's axe go to work on the remaining fomorian, and then a swipe from Ras' muscled tail shatters its chest. It falls with a crash, and the fight is over.

With the entity hall's monsters defeated, the party finds the massive stone gate set I ron the back wall that leads to Dorn's Deep. The way is shut, but surely there must be a way to open it from this side.
OOC:
Reo would know how to open it, so he can tell us how! Is it a word or phrase that when spoken will magically open the door, or is there an intricate locking mechanism that can be manipulated by pulling a nearby lever or switch? Or something else?

Though the physical battle is over, Ugs war within himself is not. Surviving the blows is doable for the massive barbarian. The visions of his mother, abandoned by her son for centuries is not. Ug crumbles, his mind and heart wrenching his soul and for a moment all goes still. But if one thing is true about the barbarian, he would go to death and back to save his mother. With a gasp of rattled breath he rolls onto his back, clutching to life.

ug took 142 damage in the last two rounds, after resistance. He’s a little moped. But relentless rage keeps him up! Yay barbarian!!

Scouring the walls for mechanisms, the dwarf frowns.

"The gate levers have been destroyed, not much to do about that.... Maybe the ancient system still works, long before us dwerfs learned how t’ forge."

Tracing his finger up and down the wall, the sorcerer begins to sing an old dwarven chanty.

"Yeh nevar seen no dwerf so bold, nor quite so hairy as Dorny.
His arms are thick and legs so quick, his trusty hammer thorny.
But if yeh seek a cozy hearth, theres nar better friend but him.
So if yeh hear me hearty song, Ol’ Dorny let me’n!"

The stone doors grind open in response to Reòthadh's song, revealing a long, dark hallway, the end of which is lit by dim, red light.

A shadow passes over the red light at the end of the corridor, and then another. A moment later, the companions can hear snuffling and heavy breathing as creatures approach in the darkness.

There are at least two, and those with eyes accustomed to shadow can see that they are covered in shaggy fur, though are not nearly so large as yetis.

As the creatures approach, their snuffles turn to fierce growls.

With the light of Reòthadh's spell, the party can see that there are indeed two creatures approaching. They lope forward at times on their feet, and sometimes place knuckles to the ground to move faster, much like a large ape. They are covered in shaggy white fur that is lined with long bleeding welts, as though they have been whipped repeatedly. Their faces look mostly bestial, but there is a surprising amount of intelligence in their pink eyes.

They look strong in spite of their wounds, and have long, sharp claws.
