Jack lashes out quickly at the creature moving away before performing a delicate kickflip into the air. Landing on his feet, his temper mounting, he swings out three times at another nearby sharky, gritting his teeth against the pain as his blood drips from his wounds.

Stabbing with the rapier twice for Attack, Handaxe as a Bonus Action.

Nela causes another wave to swell up, carrying Kitty with it, and depositing her on the deck. The sudden flood nearly washes Ian overboard but he manages to brace against the starboard gunwale. Khiiral is not so lucky; Kitty slams into the elven archer, who loses his footing and is swept overboard!

Leaving Domare circling above, Nela then sends Shine swooping down onto the poop deck to club the Blackfin with her hooves in defense of Jack. (5 bludgeoning damage)

As he swims up next to Kitty alongside the Kestrel, Zale sees the captain fall into the water.
As fond as he is of the saber-tooth, the captain is far more important! Zale turns away from the big cat just as the wave magically buoys her up towards the deck. With powerful strokes, Zale knifes through the water and tries to extricate Valrakas.

Round 7: Zale & Valrakas

It takes some doing, but Zale is able to free Valrakas from the net. To the genasi's dismay, the enraged minotaur captain charges the merrow captain rather than swimming to safety!

Valrakas rams and gores the merrow twice, sending the creature tumbling head-over-heels in the water. The minotaur tries to zap the enemy with his horns while he makes a grab for the golden cutlass, but the fish-man is able to avoid the lightning, and keep his weapon.

OOC:
Khiiral and Kitty have yet to act this round. Anyone can control Kitty, who is now on the main deck. Saber-tooth stats here.

Khiiral, you are currently Prone in the water. You can spend half your movement to right yourself.
Quote:
• A prone creature's only movement option is to crawl, unless it stands up and thereby ends the condition.
• The creature has disadvantage on attack rolls.
• An attack roll against the creature has advantage if the attacker is within 5 feet of the creature. Otherwise, the attack roll has disadvantage.

Source: PHB, page 292
Your bow stayed on the deck. You have your dragon pistol and your rapier in hand. The pistol is not going to work wet.

You are on the starboard side. Ropes for climbing are on the port side. It's either an 80ft surface swim (no checks necessary) or a 30ft swim under the keel (gonna need a DC 16 Athletics, or no progress).

Or you can try something else. What d you do?

Round 7: Enemies
Battle Music

The merrow captain rights itself but when it lashes out at Valrakas, its golden cutlass swishes through nothing but water. The two lieautenants rush to their leader's aid. One thrusts its glowing, aquamarine trident at Valrakas and Zale. (Trident misses Valrakas, but hits Zale takes: 5 piercing damage. Bite misses.) The other merrow hurls its harpoon at the raging minotaur. The weapon hits, but Valrakas is too strong for the merrow to reel in. (Valrakas takes 5 piercing damage)

With its handlers occupied, the dragon turtle slows and turns its head curiously towards the melee in its wake.

Suddenly finding itself alone on the main deck against Ian and Kitty, Bait slashes at the saber-tooth with its cutlass and chomps at the First Mate before turning to dive over the port rail. (Kitty takes 8 slashing damage. Ian takes 24 piercing. Do you use Uncanny Dodge to halve that, or take an OA against Bait? CON save vs. Lycanthropy: SUCCESS! Kitty's OA misses.)

Angered by the unexpected beating by the pegasus, Blackfin thwacks the winged steed with its tail, but Shine easily dances out of the way. The wereshark then stabs its rider with its wickedly barbed harpoon. (No advantage on tail sweep. Miss. Harpoon hits. Nela takes 8 piercing damage, but stays mounted and maintains concentration.)

Eyepatch and Mako gang up on Grog. Eyepatch's net sails over the dwarf, but he gets tail-whipped behind the knees and bitten twice. The wolf-raised barbarian feels an inexplicable quickening in his blood accompanied by a briny taste in his mouth, and the roaring of ocean waves in his ears. (Grog takes 4 bludgeoning damage, and 5+7 piercing damage. CON save vs. Lycanthropy FAILS! Inspiration reroll?)

Jack, Grog, Phillip, and Nela: It could be your imagination, but you think you just saw the dead Hammerhead's gigantic cutlass briefly melt into a puddle of quicksilver, reform into a rapier, then a greataxe, then a war-club, and back into a cutlass, all in the space of a couple of eye blinks.

Grog howls in frenzy as he feels the teeth of the fish-breathed cretins dig into his flesh. In that moment before he shrugged off the fell disease, some might've heard something like, "Oh, the sweet blood, it sings to me..." through the inane sounds. He eyes the shape-shifting weapon, but before trying to make a move to its shininess, he takes his greataxe and starts to spin around, getting enough momentum to lash out against his nearby attackers.
