So, I got a .pdf through totally legal means and I'm curious about something. Is it possible that the .pdf itself is kinda laggy?

By the way, what everyone is planning on making?

Oh my character is a semi famous Cosplayer thats good with animals.

No clue about the Changeling side of things.

Can I suggest that you take a look at the changeling book before coming up with a character? Changeling isn't just about bolting on a bunch of stats and powers to a human character and then calling it finished. Your character was abducted and dragged kicking and screaming into a realm of wild magic, immortal Fae and wonders and horror beyond imagination. They then decided, probably at great cost, to make the journey back through the mortal realm which may have been nothing more than a faded memory for them but were spurred on by some unshakable connection to the real world. They then exist in a community that is bound together by their shared traumas and how they cope with the fact that any day, their former masters could emerge from the Hedge to drag them back home.

All of that is before you add on things like the fact that time between Arcadia and the real world move at different paces, so you might have been there for decades and come back to find no one ever knew you were gone or you could be gone for minutes, only to find decades have passed. You might also emerge to find something has taken your place, a fetch left by your former master when you were taken that has taken your life, is wearing your face and doing everything you used to do and to make matters worse, it is utterly convinced that it is you and you are the intruder on it's life. None of that is to say that your concept of a cosplayer with a social media following couldn't work, it seems like great fodder for a Spring courtier and the mechanics you have submitted are sound, it's just about remembering changeling is more bound up in every aspect of your character more than any of the other NWoD splats.

I have never really had any issues with the pdf and as far as I am aware, because I am not distributing the book in a manner that means it can be copied and because I can take away the rights to view it as I need to, I am not in violation of any civil laws or anything like that and I see it as the modern version of sharing a book with your game group at a table. Of course, if any official rep asked me to stop, I naturally would but until that day comes, the offer is there.

Ok reading my book possibly for the first time other then when I first got it and it certainly lends to the feeling of being mentally traumatic. If I ever want to play a Malkavian Ill have to read this.

Im so confused

Dealing with trauma and how you go about it is certainly a main theme. Is there anything is particular that is confusing you?

i have to find my notes. i had made a Weisse Frau i never got to play.

If there's a Fairest already, I will probably play as a Darkling. Though which kith is yet to be decided. And its Court, and everything else. x)

I am thinking of playing a beast even if fairest might fit.

I can add customer sheets for you guys if that is easier. Also what the heck is a Weisse Frau? I haven't come across that one before.

By the way! Soo, should we choose a Court at the beginning, considering that we'll start the game with our characters just escaping?

Let's go with the note shoving then. Please pick your court now, since you will tumble out of the Hedge already a member of your chosen court. I know that is super weird but that is going to be one of the more interesting aspects of the campaign.

I've been skimming the book and I feel there's a good bunch of stuff missing. Is it possible that the book is supposed to be used in conjunction with the Chronicles of the Darkness book?

Another question: How much background should we come up with? Up until we are abducted? Should we detail our times in Arcadia?

For the 1e version you need the World of Darkness core book as well but thats about it. And yes, deal with everything right up to you coming back through the Hedge on your return from Arcadia.

Okay, people! Just as a heads-up, my character is going to be called Claire Kominski Redmound, although her Keeper liked to call her Jane the Ripper, because of her descendency - Aaron Kominski, main suspect of being Jack the Ripper, is somewhere in her family tree.

She's going to be a Darkling Razorhand, and her main skills are going to be Weaponry(Knives, especially), Computer, Larceny, Stealth, and Subterfuge. Her Persuasion and Streetwise should also be good enough.

I'm still thinking about the character itself. I feel like her whole deal will be about refusing what she's good at: Assassination. She may or may not feel aversion to knives because of it, and or may have not developed homicidal tendencies, tendencies she will either not accept that exist at all or that she will desperately want to get rid off. I was initially going to go with an angle like "I'll use what I learned against the Fey, raaawgh" and pick the Summer Court, but I feel that the sorrow she feels for the person she has become and much greater than any potential wish for vengeance she may have, so I'll be picking the Winter Court. Anyway, the concept may change but that's the core idea.
