OOC Nonsense

My first campaign ran for about four years which might make you think we got a lot done, but we didn't. It was supposed to be a biweekly schedule but in reality we met more like once every one or two months for like six hours out of which we were IC for maybe one or two. I made more progress with my current weekly group in ten sessions than I made with that group over years, I think...

LOL! Yes, it is. We've become pretty close as a group, and everybody is pretty into it. The returning player spent some time as interim DM of the original group before taking his "paternity leave," and this game is now his only hobby time, since he's got an infant and a 3-year-old. So he takes it seriously and puts a lot of thought into strategy. His character and mind spend a lot of time debating and formulating plans now, so that we won't accidentally massacre anybody else! Of course, we're currently in the middle of what I believe is an ill-advised attack on a keep full of giants, so some or all of us might be rolling new characters soon. LOL

Update on the number of posts in this game: We have over 1,100 IC thread posts, and over 1,800 posts overall! Wow!

Sorry about my OOC posts in the IC thre ad s by the way. I tend to ramble in them and don't feel like reworking them all the time. Hope you don't mind

Can Cass open the tube from the inside? I just assumed not, but I guess I should find out for sure.

I play in a regular Curse of the Crimson Throne game online once/week, and I DM a Shattered Star game in person once/month. Then I have another group that gets together for occasional Star Wars FFG or Genesys games.

That last group is a little more sporadic, but it's a friend I've known since I was in elementary school (the first person I every played D&D with) so we still try and make it work when we can. Last time we rented a place and a group of us went for a 3 day weekend long game of G.I. Joe based Genesys. It was stupid fun, we played the entire time, and that GM is one of my favorite I've had. He has even ran games in person for money, so he's pretty good at what he does. I think we're gonna make it an annual event.

Tough love is my plan too! Moonbeam, I'm gonna try to Chekhov's gun your holodeck scene! :D

(And that means something amusingly different in a space context...)

There has to be an emergency opening mechanism on the inside that you can use

It does! Do you guys ever do Extra Life? It's a 24-hour gaming marathon to raise money for children's hospitals.

An RPG retreat weekend sounds like a blast!

I have never done Extra Life, but heard about it from the woman who runs the game room at our local Comic Con. She's pretty involved with it here in town I think. Maybe I'll have to look into it!

Nice! I'd love to do it someday, but it's in November, which is kinda hard to schedule around working at a school. How's the local Comic Con?

It's great if you're into that. When I was a kid I wanted to be a comic book artist. The GM I mentioned above and I would make our own characters and do all the penciling and inking even. He went on to double major in art and journalism and got a accepted for an internship at Marvel in NYC. It never went anywhere though, so he lives back home now. Needless to say he and I were pretty into comics for a while, but now if I go to Comic Con it's to GM games all weekend, so I only spend a couple hours walking around. William Shatner is going to be here though!
