Definitely. You probably already have one or two of those on board anyway

Could we, uh, appropriate the one in the pirate ship? Or would we have anywhere to put it?
Mar 13, 2019 5:33 am
Sure, you have enough room to hold it

If Cass were to do a facial recognition search on an image of Kendall (because she hasn't forgotten that she seems sort of familiar), would Darcy be notified about it? Cass would like to know more about her new ally, but she'd prefer to keep the research to herself until she knows more.

I see no reason why she would be informed, so I'd say no

Just as a heads up I might be a little less active for a few days. I'll try to be on once or twice a day still though. A coworker lost his wife, so I'm covering for him.

Could Cass conceivably have a phaser in the ready room? Or would she have to request it, which would then require justifying it?
Mar 13, 2019 6:39 pm
No, I would say all phasers are stored in a safe location. You would have to request and justify getting one. The request would go through Darcy as acting head of security.
Mar 13, 2019 6:40 pm
That's what I thought. I guess Cass will confront Kendall without benefit of a weapon.

This is probably a good time to get straight the relationship of the ready room to the bridge. On TNG, the ready room is accessed through a door on the bridge, which is how I've been picturing and playing it. But some of the other posts suggest that people are picturing it as accessed from a corridor or someplace just off the bridge. I think it makes more sense for the captain (or acting captain) to step out of the ready room and onto the bridge, as a matter of practicality and security, but I think that's probably a matter for a GM ruling.

I also always imagined it to be like in TNG with the door connecting to the bridge.

Me too.

Playing this has inspired me to go watch Deep Space Nine. Has anyone seen it? The acting is horrible, even the captain/commander. I'm on s1e10 though.

Stick with it. It gets a LOT better after the first season. Signed, someone who has watched TNG and DS9 an embarrassing number of times.

I love DS9. It's a bit different after you're used to TNG but it's really good. It took me a while to warm up to Sisko but he gets really good later and the plot gets interesting. I was in Season 4 when I stopped, I think. I'm actually currently rewatching it from the beginning with my girlfriend.
