SEND IN THE CLONES

Brett came running after the team, lugging his newly assigned equipment with him. "Brett-R-WYD-1 reporting for duty, Sir! Was just testing out my equipment! It's fully functional and ready for use for The Computer's glory!" Brett says all this in a single breath.


"Yes sir!" Brett says following Dave's order as he quickly turns on the Com 2. "And we're live!"

"Hello everyone watching on their vidscreens! I am Brett-R-WYD-1, or you can call me Brett'R Weird, and you are watching a recording of a team of Troubleshooters about to get ready to receive their first mission briefing! Ooh, what could it be?!"

Brett then pans the camera over to each of his members. "This here is our courageous and smart Team Leader, Dave-R-EGP-1! And over here is Will-O-WSP-1! Our diligent and squeaky clean Hygiene Officer! Next up is Will-R-WTN-1, our loyal Loyalty Officer! And last but not least, Wyatt-R-VSC-1, our mutant Equipment Guy!"

Wyattt strolls up pushing a cart full of equipment. "Hello i am Wyatt-R-VSC-1 you can call me Wyatt." He hands out the designated equipment for the assignment. "You are thinking of the number 17, but that is only a guess since i cant read minds Team Leader Dave-R-EGP-1." he looks at the rest of the group "Now everyone keep your equipment in good repair or else i'll..... " he begins turning on and off his flashlight mesmerized by the light.

The lighting is dim, the team stands before an anonymous set of elevator doors. The song continues,
I'm getting mad! It makes me red!
This was my very first fight
Already I'm dead
Where is my clone?
I must have a clone
Send in my clone...


As Will-O-WSP-1 approaches the guardbot with the duster a very mechanical voice says stop it.

All four guardbots draw away from the group allowing a clear line of sight for the really large guardbot that approaches down the hall and pulls a bead on the entire group with a very large weapon.

I stop cleaning the bot "maybe the dust keeps them from rust!" and admire the very large weapon. Then I turn to Wyatt-R-VSC-1, our mutant (?) Equipment Guy "How many credits do we have for equipment? One of those comes always in handy "

"Oh! Looks like someone's coming! Um... it's a very big guardbot. And it has a very big weapon too... Is it aiming at us? Surely not! What do you have for us, Mr Giant Guardbot?" Brett rattles on with his Com in hand.

As Brett continues talking, he also takes a thorough look at his Com 2. He wants to make sure it is functioning properly.

A guardbot malfunctioning? What sort of commie trick is that?

As Brett-R-WYD examines his Com 2, it appears to be red and rectangular with rounded corners. It has a two-inch black antenna a rectangular button on the side and two dials on it's face. During the process of examining his Com 2 the high-pitched sound of feedback is emitted from his teammates' Com units. The smaller guardbots begin blinking red lights.

As Dave-R-EGP approaches the nearest camera mounted above the elevator doors, they slide apart with a retro-futuristic door sliding apart noise.

The four smaller guardbots create a perimeter around the Troubleshooter team and the largest guardbot advances towards the group.

With A VERY ROBOTIC voice* the guardbot says,
INTO THE ELEVATOR

Right away mister robot! I look into the elevator carefully checking it out and turn back to the team All clean guys, we can go in. I take the position that offers the best cover from the big, bad, mean and unclean robot

"Wait a minute, this isn't a camera! Silly me!" Brett says as he puts away his Com. "Ah, I believe this is the device I'm looking for!" He says as he picks up the Multicorder from the cart. He begins to study the Multicorder as he makes his way into the elevator.
