Attica (Arina)

Attica is a hacker alias. He is a master of the dark web, and a very skilled hacker.

One day he accidently gains access to the Nosferatu information network ShreckNET.

He doesn't believe or understand what he has read. But one night he feels someone watching him while he walks home one night. But he never matches to catch a glimpse of his stalker.

This sounds interesting. Are you looking to start Attica as a mortal and RP out the change? Looking to make them a Vampire, or something else? Tell me a little more about Attica, how did they become a hacker? Do they just hack or are they into MMO or online games? DO they have friends IRL and hang at a coffee shop? Is all his money ill gotten or does he have like a regular job?

I don't mind if he starts out as a human and gets embraced or whether he starts as a fledgling vampire. Strangely, I never imagined him as a Nosferatu. Instead, I figured an elder from another clan, who knows almost nothing about the information age, embraced him to learn about the interent and to protect his/her clans' secrets and spy on other clans. Basically, as a way to increase their power.

He sees himself as a kind of modern day Robin Hood breaking into companies, exposing their secrets or illegal activities on wikileaks.

That's what led him to ShreckNET. He was investigating a dodgy contact of a series of local politicians and found a Nosferatu vampire's ID.

He gained access to ShreckNET and downloaded a massive cache file.

He is a student, so he doesn't have a regular job. I'd imagine he has a crowd he regularly hangs out with onlime but he only knows them by their ids. Let's call the hacker group 'Agoge' after the Spartan training camp. They took the name to show they want to be the best of the best and that they have no interest in material gain.

He is a student, enrolled where, and what level, undergrad, grad?

What can you tell me about his family? Any friends who he does have IRL, any lovers?

Where does he live, apartment or at home with parents? Alone or with room mates? What does he live like, ramen and soup, or does he cook and live well? Does he own a car?

Forgive me for my geographical knowledge of the USA isn't brilliant, I figure that Attica is really bright, so I figure he would be either Ivy League or something slightly below that like Columbus University. Maybe Berkeley? Anyway, if the location of the university is a problem, his sire could have taken him to Washington, to try and hide him, so he could be missing.

Regarding family, he has an older sister, who tries to look out for him in a maternal way, making sure he's happy and socialising etc.

He also has a younger brother who is quitw sporty but a tad naive. Attica tries to look out for his brother when he can.

Attica spends most of his time online. When he isn't required to be in class he is usually online, chatting with his Agoge friends, talking about their next targets or boasting about their skills, helping each other out etc.

He doesn't have a partner despite being pretty good looking. He can be quite charasmatic but he has no interest in people who aren't interested in trying to take down corrupt organizations. But that's not exactly something he can discuss with just anyone. So his past relationships have all ended early as all of his partners figure he has trust issues. And they were right!

I guess he was staying at the university dorm although I am open to suggestions. He could even have been staying with his family in Washington, when he gets embraced. I'm really easy either way. If his home town is Billingham, that might give you a little more to work with. In that case he probably doesn't own his own car but he can borrow one from his parents.

Bellingham is in North Washington near the Canada border. His family could be from there. How old do you see Attica? What level of college, grad or undergrad?

He could always be on holiday or hiding out after doing some illegal activity.

Yes, only about an hour and a half from Vancouver BC, and a few from Seattle. So may have events there, but it will focus on Bellingham, smaller town and smaller collection of supernaturals, as well as wild country around it.

I like the idea of his parents having given him a really inappropriate name which he hates, like 'Chad' in the hopes that he would turn out to be captain of the football team or something.

I'm also not too sure about clan. If we start Attica as human then I guess I could leave the clan up to you.

He is handsome enough, and his skill at hacking could be considered an art, so perhaps he would tempt a Toreador,
On the other hand, he has a huge issue with authority, so he would certainly appeal to a Brujah.
A Nosferatu may have tracked him if they discovered he had hacked their ShreckNET.

I figure he might have read some of the database, laughed to himself and then became curious and went to check something out.

Then, shall we say, curiosity killed the cat.

Tell me about the first time Attica broke the law, really broke the law, felony wise, and was not caught.

Oooh I hadn't thought of that.

I remember when my parents bought me my first laptop. I wasn't like the other kids, I didn't see my laptop as an entertainment device, simply a way to access youtube or computer games. I saw it as a tool, a weapon, a way to get power. It might have been the timing It was 10 years ago, and the hacker groups InSec and Anonymous were all over the news. I remember thinking even then, that we have to do something. We have to stop the baby boomers from destroying our planet and corrupting our governments.

But I had no intention of playing by the rules. My first crime was a basic DoS attack. I heard a speech from a politician, taking money from Exxon, about climate change. He called it a hoax. He was just bought and paid for, so I went to Anonymous' website and downloaded a piece of software which repeatedly dials phone numbers, plugged in the office phone line of this jerk, and flooded his office with calls calling him a greedy, corrupt son of a bitch. Eventually, he was forced to change his number.

Then I made an anonyomous blog about it and began calling myself Attica, the place where Athens was founded. To show everyone I was gonna fight for the people. To save us all.

This bought me to the attention of other hackers and one of them took me under his/her wing. I'm really not sure of their gender, I just know them by their handle 'Jstar'. They showed me the ropes. Showed me how to hide, protect myself and then how to attack so called security systems.

After a while, I got good at it, recruited a few more hackers and together with Jstar we founded Agoge.

Do you have a character sheet for them?

Yes. I have a sheet. Good to go. I have made him as a human so no clan yet. I assume 1 point in each stat and 2 points in intelligence. I'll link the sheet as soon as I figure out how to do it on my phone.

Just realised there was a wod character here. Written up and submitted.

So is everything ok? As for getting Attica into the story. He is mortal right now and has downloaded a massice cache from ShreckNET. That could have included the Nosferatu's knowledge on Pandora. Attica could have read that, with utter disbelief, but decided to check it out for fun.
