Character Information & Descriptions

Use this thread to give your fellow players an idea of whom your character is. Please only include information that other characters can either see at a glance, and maybe something incredibly basic that might be listed in The Academy's database (weight, height, eye color, etc). Since this takes place in the 90's, Myspace and Youtube haven't been out yet, so there's very little way of looking up public information on the students. Keeping profiles as minimalist as possible in this way will hopefully promote good social RP as people try to figure each other out! But it's still useful in knowing the general of idea of other characters so we don't accidentally step on each others toes by creating copies of certain archetypes.

The young man code-named "Nexus" by the Academy is a scrawny, freckled, green-eyed, shaggy brown-haired pale boy in his early teens, maybe 14 or 15, but he could be younger. Relatively new to the Academy, he's shy and skittish, especially around people he doesn't know, and hasn't displayed any powers to his classmates to date.

No one in the Academy has ever heard him utter a single word.

The teenager that's been dubbed "Paladin" by the staff appears to be a 15 year old male with brown hair and blueish green eyes. Being a new enrollee to the academy he's been observed, by staff, keeping to himself and being somewhat of a loner. Yet the few times he's been seen interacting with the other students, (playing video games or a board game..etc) his personality is the exact opposite.

The girl called Fee doesn't seem to have a code name, and no one has seen her face. She wears long pants, high boots, long sleeved shirts, gloves, a scarf around her neck and ears, a wide-brimmed hat pulled down tight over her head, huge sunglasses, and a bandanna tied around her face as if she's about to rob a stagecoach in the old west. She has kept to herself since arriving, rarely leaving her room except to eat and transport piles of books from the library to her room and back again.

"Sprite" is a cheerful, pretty girl. Her hair, eyes and the dragonfly wings that protrude from her back all have a silvery iridescence. With the new-found freedom to use her powers within the Academy, she delights in flying along the corridors and teleporting around the grounds, leaving sparkling motes of light in her wake.

Arthur James is a kid around 14 with a knack for getting into trouble. Tall, semi-muscular, and likes vaulting off things: bannisters, ledges in the garden, fencerows.. you get the idea. His hobbies include lockpicking and going into town to pickpocket. Those around the school have noticed he has a tattoo on his right wrist and hand of what appears to be a Catholic rosary. Why he has it? He hasn't said.

Spencer is the boy at school every other boy envies, and most girls swoon over. Team Captain... every team. Popular with both guys and girls, easy to get along with, and can't seem to fail. He's deliberately good, and he's not faking it, except when it comes to his Mom. Her expectations of him have pummeled him into submission, and the meek kindness you see in him disappears as his mother (the headmistress) announces her expectations. It's subtle, but the tension in his eyes is obvious.

Eugenie Clairemont has always had generational wealth in her corner, and since the 1980's has used it to further the public discussion of minority rights and, as a sideline, genetics research. The reasons for her involvement became more personal when it was discovered her son had the gene. This would be the impetus for her brainchild and money sink for the next 10 years: The Academy: a revolutionary research into the homo superior mutation, and alternative learning center for troubled teens.

She's known I've been a mutant for 10 years! That's messed up! Who tests a normal preschooler for genetic mutation?

Genie (Creepy) Clairemont! That's who! And what's with the plunge necklines... Mom... (facpalm).

Yeah that is a seriously unorthodox outfit for a school principal... or a research scientist... or a normal human being.

"So, uh... Mrs Clairemont isn't wearing a bra again today."

Mrs. Clairemont celebrates her own body in selfless sacrifice to represent the pride all mutants should have in their own bodies. She also kindly asks to only come at her when she calls for you.

So that's what this is, a clothing optional school? Very Liberal.

Paving the way for schools all across the U.S. of A. to do away with archaic dress codes that unfairly target women.

But she will lay down the law on anyone wearing flip flops on the 1st floor.

If Arthur wore flip flops, he'd do it. He has a slight problem with authority. lol

What about 'beach' day? Or 'hat' day? Or 'pajama' day?

I'm totally buying a pair of flip-flops on this outing. I'm not even sure Spencer would know what they are.
