Mönkhbat: You grab the wrist of a young human, dressed in a brown jacket with a large hood. She turns her face up towards you, showing you the mask of Faesarin, the Dark. A woman's voice comes from behind the mask. You'll have to give me a drink first! She tries to break free with a short jerk, but Mönkhbat's grasp is strong enough to hold her.
Aug 7, 2019 6:26 pm
"You're the one trying to grope me!" says Mönkhbat, refusing to let go. "Though I can't blame ya. C'mon, missy, let's find some space and see about that drink!" He pulls the hooded woman to a less-crowded spot.

Ushered by Alata, Nàdair slowly moves to the stage, still undecided. Going after mister Jekkers is a difficult task after all! However, she is recognised by the man on the stage and quickly introduced as the next act!
[ +- ] OOC
As Nàdair enters the stage, she briefly disappears. As the audience expectantly await to see what happens next, the elf graciously appears in the middle of the stage, halfway through a dance. As she moving slowly, an ethereal voice narrates "After Ilyra brought order to the primal chaos, she danced...". Nàdair's slowly changes strangely resembling a more godly creature. She stops, frozen in a position. The air quickly chills around the audience.

With an enthralling performance Nàdair starts a mysterious elven song showing Ilyra enclosing all the elements within a pocket of air, creating the skies, compressing the earth, creating the land and mountains, dropping water on the mountains, creating the rivers that run to form the oceans, and containing the fire in the sun bringing light to it.

Once the world is created, images of all creatures appear on stage, each one producing a different musical sound as Nàdair ends the performance with a calming melody with her lute.
OOC:
I'm assuming most people don't understand elven and it just sounds magical to them. Whoever understands elven, Nàdair is singing about how Ilyra created the world, which is what she is showing with the illusions as well :D

Roddric claps enthusiastically - when Nàdair is within earshot, he says "Well done, Nàdair, my elvish is a little rusty but I caught most of it. That's a popular tale among wizards as you might guess, with the the elements and the weave involved. Their versions are longer and more boring though, with lots of diagrams and a few words of Primordial and Draconic thrown in. . . . and a lot less dancing. Yours is much more entertaining."

Mönkhbat: Momentarily flabbergasted by Mönkhbat's response the woman let's him lead her away. After a few steps she whistles a certain short melody, but keeps walking with Mönkhbat. I don't know what you think of me sir, but I definitely didn't intend to inappropriately touch you. It is all just a misunderstanding, really.
Please roll another perception check.

Alata, Maighan, Nàdair, Roddric: After Nàdair's magnificent performance a big applause sounds, cheers here and there, only a pair of elderly man look sourly from a ledge on the side of the crowd, like they've done with every performance so far. Jekkers encourages the crowd to cheer louder, pretending he can't hear them, winking at Nàdair. After a moment Nàdair is ushered off the stage by a man holding 9 unlit torches, getting ready for his juggling performance. The crowd becomes silent as the first torch lights up, but suddenly a short melody is whistled on tge right side of the crowd, immediately echoed on the left side.
if you want you can each roll a perception check as well.

if I understand this correctly, my Wisdom is 11, my perception is listed as based on WIS with a +0 modifier, so roll 11 or higher? to succeed assuming no additional modifiers for conditions?

OOC:
You're correct that your roll has no modifiers:-). Depending on the rolls and each situation individually I (and Drama) will decide what each number will let you have as outcome. For instance, here somr things might be harder to spot than others and your 7 might let you see some things.
I'll post the results later;-)

It means you roll 1d20+0. The DM will set the difficulty check you need to equal or surpass.
Mönkhbat says, "Sure, sure. I ain't gonna complain, though. In fact, I feel kinda honored that you'd pick out this ugly mug outta all the folk wandering about. Says you either marked me 'cause I look like the drunken fool... which you're spot on, by the way... or you caught a glimpse-a coin I keep between my taught hindquarters.

"This here's good enough,"
he continues, releasing the woman's wrist as he turns to face her. "I'm in a good mood, and I feel like sharing. I got me some good ale in these gourds you so oddly ignored, so how's about you... and your friends, I'm guessing... join me for a couple-a swigs?"

Nàdair, winks back at Jekkers and quickly joins with Alata, Maighan and Rodhic to watch the next act. Suddenly, a catchy whistled melody interrupts the show "Who'd be so rude as to interrupt someone's performance with a catch tune!" Nàdair exclaims half indignant, half intrigued...
OOC:
Take that final boss! I spend all my spell slots but charmed you to a wink ;)

The DC (target number to beat) is defined by the GM. WIS 11 only informs the modifier you add to the roll result in D&D :)

Mönkhbat: When the woman whistles a man at a nearby stall drops the figurine he was observing and rushes away towards the town's edge. You hear the whistle repeated several times through the crowd, growing softer as it moves further away from you.
While walking away from the crowd Mönkhbat spots two figures, one hooded and one dressed in inconspicuous clothes, follow you at a small distance. Once you stop they didn't each other, being joined by three others, froming a huddled group of five (two hooded with masks, 2 male and 1 female dressed nondescript) standing just out of normal earshot.
The woman cocks her head slightly, crossing her arms, after glimpsing at the group. You're not from around here, are you? You have no idea who we are?Look, I didn't pick you because you looked easy, au contraire, you looked like a challenge. It was a sort of test and I failed and I will get my punishment for that. But these friends you speak of aren't here to have a drink, and more will arrive soon. I like you, I would enjoy picking your brain over a drink or two, but we won't have that chance right now. I can signal them all is well, but I have a feeling they've had instructions from upper hand to ignore that in a situation like this. I think it's best if we part ways now, but... She leans in a bit closer, voice not more than a whisper If you're up for it I'll be glad to take a drink from one of your gourds at sundown, just outside the town's gate. She stands back up, glancing over at the group that has now turned into 7 figures.

Alata, Maighan, Nàdair, Roddric: The juggler seems to get distracted by the whistles, fumbling with the lit torch and accidentally setting his hair on fire! He drops the torch, which is quickly extinguished by a member of the stage crew, and runs off stage. The people right in front of the stage jump back, some screaming, moving the entire crowd into a jumble. The two grumpy men on the ledge start laughing loudly, one falling backwards.

Unfortunately Roddric doesn't have any spells that can help, but if the juggler is close enough and can be reached, Roddric will try to help put out the fire by grabbing a cloak or blanket nearby and putting it over his head, if his hair is still burning.
Aug 9, 2019 7:24 pm
Mönkhbat shrugs. "No guarantee I'll have anything left by sundown," he grins as he sloshes one of the gourds. "Anyway, you're right, I ain't know who you are. But, it's pretty easy to figure out you ain't solo here, which means you got friends, and those friends know friends and you're all one big happy family, right? So I figure I'd find out who it is that's keeping the peace, so to speak."

The half-orc settles the gourds into place, securing the string so that there's less movement. "Now, there's gonna be an easy way to talk about this, or a hard way. If it's the easy way, you can stay. If it's gonna be the hard way, I figure you can make your exit so's you can get your punishment on (sorry about that, by the way), and that way you don't get what finer folk call the double-whammy.

"I'll see if your buddies are up for another challenge,"
Mönkhbat finishes, grinning with his tusks.
Aug 9, 2019 7:26 pm
"Wait a minute..."

Maighan narrows her eyes, looking at the juggler. "I don't think that's real fire," she says, confusion and suspicion warring in her tone. As the crowd starts to jumble about, she spots something else suspicious. "It's a distraction!"

She grabs Alata's arm and points in the direction of a group of seven individuals -- four in hoods -- walking toward the back alleys that lead toward the mayor's mansion. "Tell me that's not suspicious at all, huh? I'm going to follow them. Might be nice to have some backup."

With that, she slips through the crowd as quietly as she can, attempting to follow the group of seven without being seen.

Roddric, unfortunately you are too far away from the stage to do anything to help and the man has run off even further away from you fast.
Aug 9, 2019 7:58 pm
Since Maighan alerted Roddric to what she noticed, Roddric will try to follow as stealthily as he can, about 10 yards behind her, if he starts falling behind he will abandon stealth to keep up.

Rolls

Stealth (follow suspicious people without being noticed) - (1d20+2)

OOC:
Helping ae_dd out while she galavants about having fun and vacationing without us!
Mönkhbat: The girl sighs, heavily, with enough sass that you can just about hear her eyes roll behind the mask. Dimitrov, come here please. The man has questions. she says, voice just slightly louder than normal tones. From out of the crowd, you see a frail looking human walk forward, leaning heavily on a gnarled walking stick. With his appearance, she pulls away from you, backing away slowly. You note that while the crowd has thinned as you moved into the alley, there do seem to be more small groups of people starting to gather here, but most carry themselves more like fighters and less like jubilant, half drunk, festival goers.

Roddric/Maighan: As you take off, you don't really pay close attention to your feet nor your shoulders. It's been a bit and you bump into tables here and there, people grunting with frustration as you bump into them, spilling the occasional drink. Soon, though, the thick press of bodies fades as you get an alley or two away from the main festival. You spy Mönkhbat with a collection of people forming around him about thirty feet off in the distance.

Alata/Nàdair: Nàdair, you do notice that Harrie Jekkers is running the opposite direction of all the other people. While the others are following the random groups of people, what are you up to?
Aug 13, 2019 7:52 am
OOC:
"running the opposite direction of all the other people", as in, suspiciously going the other way?
Nàdair quickly points out to Alata "Where is Harrie going?" and starts running after him. Given that Maighan already found seven suspicious individuals, Jekkers's escape seemed a bit out of place for the elf.
OOC:
Not sure what roll would work, but I'm trying to check for anything weird about Jekkers behaviour to determine if I should follow him or get back to the group
