OOC:
Sorry to be difficult, but I could use a refresher/summary of the action. As I understand it, we were at the performance. The performer appeared to have faked being burned, and I spotted some suspicious folks headed toward where the mayor's house would be. Roddric and I tried to follow them, but we were unsuccessful. Those people... are gone? Now around Monkhbat? I'm not entirely sure what's going on... thanks in advance!

OOC:
No problem! I think part of the problem was that between me telling Drama what was in my head and him putting it in posts some details got lost. Let me give you all a overview:
You were looking at the stage when a juggler came on that (pretended to) set his hair on fire after a certain whistled melody sang around the square. The juggler and some other people hurried away, in the direction of the mayor's mansion, but stopped where Mönkhbat was talking and drinking with a man. Several other people are also gathered there, in small groups, all keeping an eye on the situation. So far nothing really hostile seems to be happening, but these figures seem a bit shady; plenty of metal flashing between folds of clothing or already in their hands and overall just a vibe of thugs.

What exactly is going on and who these people are I can't tell you, but you are CLEARLY outnumbered by a lot. Seeing that every minute one or two more people arrive at the scene it's safe to assume there are plenty more on their way.
We will move forward in time if we can figure out where everyone is and wether or not anyone wants to interfere with the situation or if you're good with Mönkhbat handling it.

Last piece: Mönkhbat, the woman you were talking to has left with two masked men.

Roddric was assuming they were headed to the castle, so if they stop, he does also. He glances around, if there is anyone nearby that is watching Mönkhbat, but looks like they are not part of the group that is arriving, he will ask them, "what's going on, who are those people taking an interest in the big half-orc over there."
Sep 2, 2019 8:30 am
Nàdair quickly runs to catch up with Roddric "Hey! What is going on here? Is that... Mönkhbat?"
Sep 4, 2019 10:04 pm
Maighan turns to answer Nadair. "I wish I knew what was going on here... we followed some shady characters here, and now more and more seem to be showing up. I've seen a few with weapons under their cloaks, and if there's a few, no doubt there are more I haven't seen."

She peers through the crowd toward the big half-orc, who stands out above the others. "I don't have a good feeling about this... I'm wondering if we should make a distraction and get Monkhbat out of there."
Sep 4, 2019 10:18 pm
Roddric: You see a man that stands alone huddled against a wall, looking like he wants to blend in with his surroundings. As soon as you start speaking to him he starts apologising and backing away from the situation, running as soon as he's out of your reach.

Mönkhbat: Dimitrov shrugs, declining the gourd with a small wave of his hand. We take care of our people. He looks around, a half smile appearing on his face. It seems our conversation has come to an end Mönkhbat. Thank you for the drink and may the festival bring you joy the rest of the day. He turns around and starts to walk away down a street that leads towards the backs of the stalls along the main street. Quickly the numbers of people around are dwindling, figures disappearing down streets and into shadows, accompanied by some more whistles, a different melody.

When about half the people are left suddenly loud screams of panic sound from the direction of the town's gate. You understand that if you can hear it there, it means many people should be involved, or you wouldn't be able to hear it from this distance.

Time Elapsed Since Festival Start - 4 hours

Current Party Locations
Group 1: Alata, Maighan, Mönkhbat, Nàdair and Roddric - between the houses a bit away from the festival activities, about 20 minutes of waking away from the gate.

Mönkhbat puts away his gourd as Dimitrov leaves, watching him go with a cautious eye and his half-smile never fading.

However, when the screams start, he quickly realizes that they're not because of him. He gives a mock salute to any of Dimitrov's friends that remain and breaks into a sprint towards the town gate.

Roddric, keeping in mind the instructions from the mayor, tries to follow and keep up with Mönkhbat.

As some of the others turn and head toward the gate, Maighan takes just a moment to look around the area. She was just talking about making a distraction... and here's potentially one not of her making. She peers about, taking note of anything particularly suspicious or out of place.

You all hear an intense music bursting suddenly after the screams "🎶Strange people ruining the spectacle 🎶 screaming from the gates 🎶 Nàdair is pissed 🎶 because someone is messing with the spring fest 🎶 she sings as she runs to check the gates
Sep 9, 2019 11:08 am
Maighan pauses to look around, seeing the marks in the dust on the street showing where the figures, who have taken the advantage of the distraction of the screams to skedaddle, stood and moved; some footprints and streaks where cloaks brushed the ground. Suddenly she spots a small glint, which upon inspection turns out to be a copper piece.

Alata also looks around, trying to find the man he followed but unfortunately he was one of the first to sneak out unseen.

Mönkhbat, Roddric and Nàdair start making their way towards the gates, hurrying down the empty backstreets. When you're about halfway you start hearing something that doesn't really fit in with the sounds of people fleeing a scene. As you get closer you start recognising it as several eerie voices, performing a nonharmonic humming version of "you are my sunshine". (It takes a bit to get to the gate, in order to keep the timeline straight this is it for now. Next post you'll arrive at/near the gate)

Not the sort of eye-opening clue she was hoping for, but in a pinch, anything works. Maighan reaches down to scoop up the copper piece, puts it in a pocket and hurries off after the others. If there's to be excitement, she wants to be a part of it.
Sep 9, 2019 4:28 pm
Mönkhbat will continue running until he reaches the gate or something bars his path. Inadvertently, he begins to hum along.
Sep 9, 2019 5:44 pm
Nàdair stops to listen carefully to music, before continuing.
OOC:
anything that she could tell from the music? Like the source of the voices or who could play such a version?
Insight and perception are +4, performance +5, depending on what fits better

Alata discouraged will trudge over towards the screaming to see what the commotion is all about.

Maighan hurries after Mönkhbat, Nàdair and Roddric, Alata slowly making his way in the same direction. Maighan notices the same things the others did, Alata, with his snail pace, notices people hurrying into their houses, locking doors and closing windows.

Mönkhbat, Nàdair and Roddric move down the last street before they have a view of the gates when they hear a man's voice singing loudly over the hum. ... never know dear, how much I love you! Please don't take my sunshine away! EVERYBODY, SING WITH US!
You round the corner and see two dozen undead slowly shuffling forward, dresses in what could best be described as mix and match of worn down Sunday best; shirts missing buttons, half the shoes missing, suspenders loose on one side. They're clearly the source of the humming sound, their undead voices not forming words although their mouths make the movements.
All regular people have ran off, hiding indoors. One of the undead is dragging along a leg dressed in guard uniform, the other guard shaking uncontrollably next to the gate.
The singing man is a fairly tall human, dressed in even more worn down clothes than the undead; brown rags with big stains and streaks. On his head balances a weird crooked hat made of brown fur, or some kind of fungus. When he notices you he swings his arms wide open, a big smile appearing on his face. His robe falls open to reveal a bat family hanging on the lining, fast asleep.Welcome, friends! Glad you could join us! Sing this happy song with us as we make our way back to my wife!

Mönkhbat charges in, slipping his greataxe free. "You're ruining the party!" he roars, obviously preparing to battle both strange man and the walking dead.
OOC:
I would like to Rage. I'll add an Initiative roll if it's needed, otherwise ignore!

Roddric quickly sizes up the position of the horde and where Mönkhbat is heading, with the goal of immobilizing a group of undead with Web, away from the party members.
OOC:
As I said I haven't played D&D in many years, not up on the combat or anything so let me know if what I am doing doesn't work or make sense

Maighan races up to the gathering; seeing the undead and their bandleader, she quickly looks around for a likely way to get around or behind them to sneak up and surprise them.
