Alastriona follows Butler, acting as backup through mere presence. Her eyes look in other directions, sweeping the tunnels as they go.

"Honest Waterdhavians are always welcome at our table. Welcome. I am Jazaka, and this is Kroga and Saraza, all of the Snapjaw tribe," the Lizardfolk declares proudly in a hissing voice. Jazaka has an eye patch and is heavily scarred.

"The game is Dragon Dice." They pull out a bag of bone dice that must weight more than a pound. "Buy rolls for a gold apiece, up to ten. Everyone rolls and adds up their dice, highest score wins with pot. But roll any ones and you automatically lose. Knife toss to decide ties. Nobody wins, pot carries over to the next game"

Then, Jazaka leans closer and rumbles:

"If you cheat, you forfeit your life."

Anyone else want in?

As an additional rule, sleight of hand check vs. their passive perception to reroll 1 die. You can do this a number of times equal to your Int modifier.

Alastriona observes a rowboat and still waters down the tunnel.

Prince doesn't go down into the Swamp (ew!) nor any of the special rooms. He stays at the bar, chatting up the bartender. "How long's this place been dead - I mean, open? I'm looking to go into the liquor business myself."

IN THE SWAMP
Butler grins at the Lizardfolk "Sounds straightforward enough, lets play" he says whilst putting his purse in front of him.

The goliath responds like a wisened elder telling a sacred tale. "I have been the keeper of this bar for twelve years. Bronze, the keeper before me, carved this place from the stone by his own hand and kept it for many years past. I know not how many. Here's your first tip on running a liquor business: don't give the drinks away for free. By the way, you and your friends owe 2 gold for the Gorgondy and another gold for the Samman pitcher."

Below, the Lizardfolk place their bets in a secret inside heavy, upturned jade cups. They extend a cup to Butler to place his secret wager and will reveal theirs when he is ready. Everyone will then collect their dice and roll.
OOC:
1 gp per die, max 10. Winner takes all.

Butler digs a few coins out of his pouch, hiding them under his cup. As it comes time to reveal he lifts it up showing 5 gold dragons.
OOC:
What dice are we rolling for this?
Jun 20, 2019 2:55 pm
Prince coughs up the gold and orders another Samman. "Start a tab, my friend. I'll be here a while yet. Cheers!"
