Do we actually have players who will work as a team? I've seen some pretty off the wall characters so far. I've seen too many games here fail quickly because some players were not able to do that.

I would recommend forming separate forum threads for each combat site, that way things don't get confusing. It works for me. I usually make a thread for each scene when the group splits and reforms with different members constantly.

I'm still interested in playing! I'll be here when you're ready to start the game again.

I agree with this.

It also might help if we all assume we’re an already functioning team and have a shared history, or that we all at least know each other. That would maybe make it more conducive to us working together. Rather than several super-strangers meeting up by chance and randomly cooperating. Just my opinion. I don’t know about everyone else, but aside from Riptide, I was assuming my character doesn’t know any of the other PCs.

I would definitely like to continue playing the Pugnisher; I’ve enjoyed Jackjack’s game so far.

I don't have a problem starting as strangers since I know the ultimate goal is to form a team. I can guide my character's actions to help tell that story.

I would separate each area with threads, but number them all the same time frame... 01 - Surfside, 01 - JCU, etc., so we know we should only be in one place each "scene" or "page" or whatever you wish to call it. I wouldn't bother trying to restrict permissions on the separate threads, though. That is a lot of work.

Having several threads open can be like running more than one game, though, so watch what you're doing.

You could task the Pugnacious B and I to do a membership drive if you want, with our base and his smarts, we probably have enough resources to put it together.

I can understand Jack's problem having 8 players to run. When I was first starting to run RPG's I had a group of 30 people. Even when we split the group in two and were running two separate games I found it too stressful and that was face to face. Running 8 people in a pbp environment seems just as difficult as a live environment with twice that many. Having two to three players in each of three different threads seems to most manageable way of handling this situation.

With my character at JCU I'm still not sure who is a member or potential of the Super Hero team. The difficulty I find with not knowing my teammates from the top is I never know whether we separately are working at cross purposes. If we knew each other, then one member might not do something that would spoil something another one of us is attempting to do.

My biggest case in point is that at the JCU rally Jeremy doesn't know if Blitzfire is a member of the team or a rogue actor trying to stir up trouble.

I am enjoying it so far, and I'm happy to wait, reboot, or whatever depending on what works for you.

I am leaning towards possibly revising my story just enough that you all will already be a team when we start again. I don't foresee this taking long, I am just making some minor adjustments.

Could the suggestion I had about Mother Pugger and I doing a quick membership drive work instead of starting over as a team? I'll write the post so you can review it, and you can see if it will work for you! Let me know.

I would be open to it yeah.

That's an interesting idea.

Sounds good to me.

I've sent my take on the post for the 'membership drive' to King_Moloch for review so I've portrayed The Pugnisher correctly. Once I'm done that I'll send it to JackJack and he can post it in a new thread, maybe? And we can pull this super team together!

I didnt realize there were 8 players XD If theres to many I don't mind stepping down.

My dude is fine as an individual or starting as a team. He's a pretty easy going guy so long as noone interfeers with his work.
But i do agree that there is alot going on in 1 thread.
Perhaps narrowing down the choices for the characters so that we are all in one spot?

okay, having given it some thought and work, I would like to have an already formed team (I know some exceptions already stand for this, and we can handle that as we go), if this was the case would you all want to be more loosely based, coming together whenever necessary, possibly with just a group chat (or more high tech means) to communicate, or do you wanna try a home base with all of you in it together that has its own kind of features? (examples include Avengers tower, Batfamily Batcave, X-Men Mansion, or Titans' Tower).

A somewhat remote manor house sounds good to me. Don't need it so big as a mansion but big enough to house 8 of us if we need to cool down for a couple days. Since I'm pretty old school I would prefer face to face meetings but setting up those meetings via smart phone or other high tech means is fine with me.

Just wondering where the points for a base would come from. Could we have a meeting/resource base without necessity for living quarters, and a tech gadget to sound alarms? That feels better for my character.

Sorry, guys. Been trying to get my head back into place for other games. Just now feeling well enough to pay attention to this one as well. If we're doing a small start over, I've already asked our GM if he would like some help. I'm willing to offer running the game for a bit from a consolidated starting point. The way the other characters are arranged in the thread that is going on right now is stressful even for me, and I'm a player! So I can't imagine what it feels like for Jackjack to be looking at that, and thinking, "Omg, what now, and who do I respond to"

We could assume that on that fateful night, when all fuckery was breaking loose in the city, that everyone sort of loosely met one another and that some sort of arrangement was formed to meet up at this meeting building. If someone has the resources to own this building (Aldrusian's character seems like a good candidate for having the resources to own an empty warehouse), that could be great. It'd give kind of a nice campy feel if it wasn't even particularly decorated at this point. It'd feel more like a rag-tag team that's just beginning without bells and whistles, just maybe a hacked radio device of some sort to get intel from police channels, or 911 calls.

Otherwise, in most comic book settings, what seems to happen is two or three people are out and something just conveniently happens nearby them for them to take action against. So if they don't have the hacked radio device, then at the least they all have each other's number with a specific team-oriented ring tone. :)

sounds good

Yeah, I'm good to be a group already. I like the idea of a loose confederation of heroes. We do our own thing, but when the team signal is turned on, we rush to whatever rally point we have to go fight crime and do good! I can easily work with a base of operations, too. Whatever is easiest.
