Alira taps the comm Badge

Lt. Mars. This is Lt. Commander Vitan.
I am with Commander Shawna Cassano captain of the Potential. She would like to speak with you sir.

After sending the message Alira hands the comm badge to her new captain. Hopefully.

Taking the comm badge, Cass says, "Lt. Mars, Cassano here. I understand you're pursuing an armed suspect. My entire bridge crew is here on shore leave. If you require any assistance from us, just say the word."

Moria sighs when Cass offers her crew. Ah knew it.

She takes a few steps out of the booth, nodding and gesturing lightly to get people away from the door. She glances back at Stone. It's clear she's not sure what their plan is, and raises her eyebrows. Normally, it would be asking for permission for her to go on whatever goose chase was about to start. But with an extra subtle head bob toward Nic, she's really asking "Should we take him along?"

Alira looks to Commander Cassano for her lead.

Cass looks around at the people in the bar and relaxes. "All right, Lt. Norton, we'll stay put. But if things change, please contact me. My offer still stands."

Cass shrugs. "Yes, we are. We're on vacation, and resort security is handling things. And I still have a glass of Fleetwine to finish. Lieutenant, you're welcome to join us." She starts picking her way back through the crowd toward their booth.

I guess one can't hurt.

Sounds good Nic, thanks. And thanks for the invitation.
I hope no one minds if I crash the group.

Cass notes Nic's offer to get the young lieutenant a Fleetwine and throws an arm around her shoulders as they walk to the booth. "A word of advice, Lieutenant. Small sips, slowly."

Thanks for the advice. I will be careful.

Alira takes a small sip and views to keep them that way.

It's certainly...ummm bracing.

Alira joins the others and gets them up to speed on what has been going on since Chad.

I guess most of this stuff is not for public consumption,
But if I can't trust you guys, we are in trouble.

Like the rest of those assembled, Cass listens to Alira's story about the security-related events of the last day or so. Then something occurs to her. "Alira - what's this interview Nic keeps mentioning?"

Alira looks surprised and confused.

I thought you knew. It was with Lt. Commander Darcy. I understood that the Potential needs a chief of security.
I was told by Spacefleet to come here for the interview.

Cass sits in stunned silence for a good fifteen seconds, staring at Alira. "What? Darcy is... The interview was with Darcy? Cassandra Darcy?"

She looks at Zephyr and Moira. "Did either of you know about this?"

Moira shrugs aggressively.

No idea, Commander. But if yeh think about it, Darcy was shuffled in tha last mission cuz' a Mike. If he's gettin' rebuilt, then it stands ta reason. Besides. Yer on shore leave. Ah can imagine she didn't want ta stress yeh. One fewer meetin'.

Zephyr makes eye contact with both of the and shakes his head with raises eyebrows.

I hadn't heard either, but we are in need.

Edit: Zephyr silently worries that this attempted thievery somehow involved Vega, but it feels too sophomoric even for her.

"I'm not questioning our need for a security chief," Cass says sharply. "I'm questioning the acting captain being kept out of the loop on a personnel decision. I--"

She cuts herself off, mindful of airing their dirty laundry in front of Alira and Nic. Turning to him, she says, "Sorry, I need to get out of the booth again. Time to visit the little commander's room."

Maybe Darcy got promoted an’ didn’t tell us? That’s still unprofessional, though. Ah’m not sure.

She pulls out her datapad.
