Shore Leave: Cottage 114

"Is this about when you were called into the security office earlier? What was that all about?", he asks with his voice lowered so nobody else overhears. "And even more important: With whom should I fix you up? Is Moira's friend coming? The tan one"

Nic smiles, which Cass clearly understands as him not giving up on the idea of fixing her up with someone. "I'm sure if she shows up, we can handle her - between my charms and the phaser you're carrying." He winks, then turns and walks to Alira and sits down next to her. "How've you been doing? Sorry for disappearing so suddenly earlier"

Lisa greets Nic and even though he responds, he barely pays any attention to her.
He puts down his glass on the table and grabs Alira's and Lisa's glasses. He quickly disappears to fill them back up with the same you had before and puts them down in front of you.
"Sorry for that but I had to get out. And you know there was no real danger." He sits down on the empty seat next to Alira. "You're annoyed at me. Any way I can make up for the trouble I caused?"

Lisa follows Alira but will wait to be introduced by her to the others. She is shy around all these high ranking spacefleet officers when she is the only cadet here.
Nic lets Lisa and Alira walk over to Cass and Alex and after a moment, gets up himself. He walks around the garden and after a while, ends up talking to Cassandra, far enough away that you can't easily overhear them

"I, uh, hope so, Commander", she says. "I'm supposed to graduate after this semester but Professor Vitan says I might not make it."

Lisa is about to reply, when two more people arrive at the cottage. Julia is accompanied by the same tall, slender man wearing a thin metal support structure and walking with a cane that Cass saw at the security office earlier. With his free hand, he is leaning on Julia.
Attached to his belt, the man is carrying a small pouch, which Cass assumes is holding his phaser.
When Cassandra spots them, she interrupts her conversation with Nic and joins the rest of you to welcome the new arrivals.
After Cassandra's introduction, Julia replies: "I'm Julia Lloyd, Alex' daughter, and this is my fiance, Theliak Maen Hellok'van."
"You can call me Theliak", he adds. "Thank you for the invitation."
His voice sounds exhausted and his breathing is heavy. Looking at him from up close, he is much older than Julia, seemingly somewhere in his forties. His skin also looks strange, with many clearly visible veins running through it. Those of you who have encountered Farredan before, however, know that this is normal for them, just like his height of over two meters is just average for his people.
