I know I've been dragging my feet on this - had my very final class last night, been zonked the past couple weeks getting thru the final push. This weekend I'll catch up on my sleep and my game plotting and we'll be back to yr regularly scheduled programming... as soon as I... take a quick nap...

Yo, Kirby - I was looking at your character sheet and wondering, what SpecOp unit were you in before you became a security contractor?

I know the corps best so he would be from a U.S. Marine Corps MARSOC

Marine Raider Regiment (MRR), which consists of three Marine Raider Battalions:

Hi everyone,

I recently (September) changed roles at my job, which has resulted in significantly less time at my desk and therefore my computer. I should have expected the resulting effect on my ability to keep up with games, but for one reason or another, it has come as a surprise. The last couple of weeks have been especially crazy as I try and balance multiple responsibilities I had been able to set aside for the previous three years, and I've fallen behind on nearly all of my games -- both those I run and those I play in. In addition, I have a couple of games I've been developing that I very much want to run, and as a result, I need to make some hard choices as to my priorities on what I can continue to be involved with.

Unfortunately, this is a game that I'm going to have to drop. I'm not leaving GP entirely, and it has nothing to do with the game, the players, or the GM -- I have very much appreciated playing with all of you and I imagine I will see you in other games. Keep being the amazing, dedicated, creative forces you are. Hopefully some day I can go back to participating in double digits worth of games, but for the foreseeable future, I need to keep a tight rein on what I'm involved with. Best wishes to everyone!

See you around in the other games78rpmlife!

As for my part, I admit I have some difficulty keeping the investigation in my head, chiefly because of the PbP format for a conspiracy/horror/Cthulhu/DG type game. The incompleteness of knowledge at a real table game works because players are interacting with puzzlement, chipping in to solve clues and piece together the mystery. Here, I've found myself reviewing a couple of times the different threads and posts, and coupled with the necessary element of having private posts (which in principle should create suspense but often just adds to ignorance from me), and I confess the lag in gameplay, means I don't really know if and how I want to proceed.

I'd like to withdraw as well. Perhaps we can revisit this some other time. Thanks Santouche, I enjoyed all the fleshed out little details and love a good horror mystery. See everyone around in other GP games!

Yeah, I have to agree in a lot of ways - the way this particular campaign is structured (at least this first section) has run into problems I don't have with my other mystery/horror games, and I'm not quite sure how to reconcile them myself.

I think, with 2 players withdrawing, I'll shut the game down. You're all great players, I appreciate you giving it a shot, and I hope there's a chance to have you all in a game again in the future!

Thank you, Santouche, for introducing me to DG!

And do let me say thanks again. I do get what the scenario was trying to do, with its gradual build up to a potential reveal at the end. It just didn't translate as well to PbP. I think we figured early on it's an out of phase floor and inhabitants, but we just had to grind it out to its logical conclusion without enough of a horror payoff.
