I may actually make a character based on that: some
conspiracy theorist that claims to have tuned augmented reality to the right electromagnetic frequency or whatnot and he is convinced he has found evidence of strange π¦ stuff π¦ going on. Clearly either aliens or the government are involved (or a government of alien doppelgangers!) .

By the way... are the skills adapted to something less 20s and more digital?
The game will be set in the 2010's of today, so the tech that we have now is what's available. If you visor is more of a
google glass thing that could work, but a robotic arm would not be available.
So, yes, the skills are modern versions. The rulebook does cover modern versions. Electronics for dealing with circuit boards, Library Use covers internet searches, and Computer Use would be used for hacking and programming.

If we're going for a YouTube team, I was thinking of playing the sceptical camera person, who doesn't really believe in the supernatural but likes to tag along to hang out and is also interested in the YouTube game.
That could work, I can see someone going along with the show to enjoy the craft as well as friendships. The youtube show also gives a nice breakdown of roles to fill. You'd need a suave face person to put on screen; some researcher to dig up stories to study; a few techy folks for cameras, editing, and the online stuff; there's also a place for a money bags to fund it or accountant types to cover logistics and legalities.
Not that all those need filled, just tossing out options that could work.
