Morgan stares down the barrel of his service revolver and fires a second shot at the assailant. The pieces through the mans belly and strikes the wall behind. The savage groans at the pain and slumps to the floor, motionless.
OOC:
I've seen conflicting reports on critical hits/fumbles in CoC. I believe 6e has double damage at an Extreme hit, which this certainly was, so we'll stick with that, unless someone knows 7e better than I :).
OOC:
New order:
1. Jimmy
2. Morgan
3. Natasha
4. Lucas
5. Akila
6. Caleb
7. Ken
8. Assailant 1

Natasha, you're up.

OOC:
If I understand 7e rules correctly, I believe you should get a bonus die and take the better of the two rolls, since this would constitute multiple attacks on the same enemy. So, roll a second time and see if you hit.
Jul 23, 2019 3:12 pm
OOC:
Lucas, see above note. I believe you should have had the opportunity to roll a bonus die (basically roll a second time and take the better of the two. Go ahead and do so now.
Jul 23, 2019 3:13 pm
OOC:
Didn't my previous target die? Anyway, here's new roll!

You shot the first one that was killed by Morgan, then you shot the second for 2 dmg.

OOC:
Akila, you're up; assuming you're attacking, you will similarly get a bonus die (i.e. take the better of two rolls).

Ha, fair enough. Just pointing out that the second shot doesn't get a bonus die.

OOC:
It was one shot one round and one shot the next. So when does the bonus die apply? Multiple shots in one round? Only the first round of combat?

OOC:
Multiple attackers on the same enemy in one round. You were the first to attack the second, so only successive attacks on that same enemy in the same round get bonus dice.

OOC:
Just to move this along
Akila produces his .38 revolver, trains it on the 2nd assailant, and squeezes the trigger.

The bullet strikes the thug right in the chest, the force of which propels his body back against the wall with a tremendous *thud*. He crumples to the floor, and a great ruddy circle begins to spread from the point of the bullets entry, staining his white linen shirt a deep crimson. On the other side of the door, you catch a 3rd assailant climbing out the window by the bathroom in the back.

Rolls

Handgun (20%) - (1d100)

(76) = 76

Handgun (20%) [bonus die] - (1d100)

(17) = 17

damage roll (if applicable) - (1d10)

(9) = 9

OOC:
We catch or we observe and may attempt to do something about?
Aug 5, 2019 2:30 pm
OOC:
You can certainly do something about it if you'd like. You won't likely be able to stop the assailant from exiting the window, but you could give chase.
