Is this where Tanner hops in wearing a bathing suit and loudly proclaims "The party's here!" and then makes a dad joke at Endra about her insecurity?

.......Am I gonna have to draw that now?
Jun 22, 2019 5:47 pm
Cass looks at Endra. Her expression is calm and earnest. "The problem is, you are her captor. By definition, this is non-consensual. I'm not saying I think you'd force yourself on her, just that there is de facto coercion built into the situation."
Jun 22, 2019 6:23 pm
Alex holds up her hands to forestall any further discussion. "Endra, I’m flattered, I really am. And it’s nothing personal, but I don’t know you, I have no reason to trust you, and I’m not leaving here alone with you, with or without a phaser. I’m as likely to shoot myself as I am an attacker. Not that I expect to be attacked, only that having the supposed protection of a phaser is useless to me."

She offers an apologetic smile and finishes, "I’m going to have to pass. Another time, better circumstances perhaps."
Jun 22, 2019 6:29 pm
Endra doesn't reply immediately but after a second, she shrugs and says: "I understand" Her voice sounds calm and casual. She removes the phaser and holster from her belt and drops it on her bed, then shows the wine bottle to everyone at the table. "Should we all share this then?"
Jun 22, 2019 7:03 pm
Nodding crisply, Cass says, "All right, Commander. We've agreed to help you pending a talk with the admiral. You've put us off long enough. It's clear that we're not part of the team, or you'd have offered Alex a phaser, too. We've played a meaningless poker game and now you're offering us a wine tasting. This feels like you're just stalling us, killing time until something happens. Either we're part of this mission or we're not. But since you've seen fit to point out that Spacefleet honors its agreements, I'd like you to honor yours. I want to talk to Adm. Tanner. Now."
Jun 22, 2019 7:24 pm
"Calm down, commander. We are on the same side, but don't think I'm stupid enough to not notice that you don't really trust us yet. Until the admiral can confirm our story and you start believing us, we unfortunately can't treat you the same way as the rest of our team. There just is a risk that you will try to backstab us." He turns to Endra. "I don't think we'll have any wine at this point, but thank you."
After this, the group sitting at the table disperses. Sandra goes back into her bed, Hector sits down next to her and the two of them talk quietly with each other. Hector does most of the talking while she nods or shakes her head in response. Endra lies down on her bed and reads on a datapad. The cadets stay close to Cass and Alex as they seem to trust you two more than their kidnappers. Chad keeps his mouth shut because every time he opens it, Rachel glares at him. She is very quiet, too, only attempting some smalltalk with Cass and Alex from time to time.

Eventually, about an hour after the end of the poker game, a small electronic device on one of the shelves starts vibrating for a few seconds. Hector immediately gets up. "It's the admiral. Everyone, meeting outside in two minutes." He looks at Cass. "You were eager to meet Tanner. This is your chance. He'll explain everything - and hopefully convince you that we're telling the truth"
Jun 22, 2019 10:05 pm
"Great," Cass says. "It's way past time for us to get somewhere with all of this."
Jun 22, 2019 10:25 pm
Less than two minutes later, you are all outside the building. Hector, Sandra, Endra and the man who stunned you and whose name you still haven't heard yet are standing in the first line with the two cadets, Alex and Cass behind them.
The kidnappers are all armed with handgun phasers but they're just carrying them in holsters, not in their hands. Cass and Alex are fairly certain that the phasers are there in case one of them or of the cadets try to flee.
After another minute, six people in spacefleet uniforms materialize a few meters in front of Hector and his people. All of them are armed, some with rifles, some with handguns. A man with a dark ponytail in red spacefleet uniform steps forward. "We've been sent here by Admiral Tanner", the man introduces himself. His eyes move from one person to the next, resting on all of you for a second before moving on. Eventually, he says: "There were only supposed to be four people plus two kidnapped cadets here." He looks at Cass and Alex. "Who are you?"
Jun 22, 2019 10:30 pm
"We're the Spacefleet officers they decided to kidnap from a birthday party," Cass says. "Commander Shawna Cassano and Lt. Commander Alex Lloyd. Who are you?"
Jun 23, 2019 7:51 pm
Alex gives a slight bow, really not much more than inclining her head. As is her habit, she lets Cass do the talking while she does the watching.
Jun 23, 2019 8:55 pm
The man, seemingly satisfied with Cass' answer, doesn't reply and focuses his attention back on your kidnappers. "You are Commander Hector Andoras, right?", he asks.
Hector confirms and is just starting to say something else when, in one swift movement, the man with the ponytail raises his rifle and fires. Before anyone can even react, Hector disintegrates completely.
Immediately, all of the new arrivals raise their weapons and begin firing. Endra jumps behind a tree and draws her weapon. Sandra and her remaining ally move towards the building while firing at the uniformed attackers. One of the attackers goes down almost immediately while the others keep firing.

The cadets run towards the entrance of the warehouse, trying to get back inside. Endra leans out from her cover to fire two shots at the attackers but both just barely miss their mark. She turns to Cass and Alex: "Run!"

In less than two seconds, the situation has turned from a peaceful meeting between allies into a full-on warzone.

What's the layout of where we are? Trying to discern what's the best course of action.

OOC:
You're close to the warehouse, which is the best source of cover, probably. You could try to get inside or around it. Other than that, it's a forest so there's trees and bushes that can give you some cover as well
Jun 23, 2019 11:09 pm
"Come on!" Cass shouts at Alex, running toward the warehouse, following the cadets. If they can get inside, she'll look for phasers for their self-defense.
Jun 24, 2019 11:30 am
The cadets reach the door to the warehouse first. Rachel opens the door and immediately gets hit by phaser fire from the inside. She vaporizes just like Hector did. Some of these attackers must have transported inside the building as well. Chad stops running and instead of changing direction, stares in shock at the spot where a moment before, his friend was still standing. Sandra adjusts her course to circle around the warehouse instead of going inside. She fires at the attackers as she's running and hits one of them who sinks to the ground from the stun beam.
Endra runs towards Cass and Alex. She fires at the attackers as well but her focus is on you two so she doesn't hit anyone. She points in a direction that leads you away from the warehouse and past the attackers. It's a risky path to take when trying to evade phaser fire. "That way!", she yells. "Fast!"
The last member of your kidnapper's group moves towards Chad, trying to cover him and draw fire away from the cadet to himself. He's holding out for the moment but with the superior position and firepower of the attackers, it doesn't look like he will survive long like this, especially if Chad doesn't start moving soon.
Two members of the attacking group turn their attention to Cass and Alex. They aim their rifles at them for a moment and then fire.
OOC:
With your next post, both of you please give me a Feelings roll with help to dodge. You'll both make a full roll but I'll add them together into one for the resolution.

Alex lets loose with a string of invective, colorful and wide-ranging in its target, from Spacefleet to the attackers to the warehouse and even an unoffensive tree nearby. Parentage is questioned, sexual proclivities pondered on, and a whole diversity of manners in which to die are mentioned at least in passing. Grabbing Cass's arm as she runs, Alex growls, "Come on. This way."

She follows Endra, dodging when it feels appropriate, looking like a drunk on fast forward. "If you turn on us... if you disintegrate us, I swear, my atoms will gang up on you and haunt you til the day you die."

Plunged unceremoniously into commanding officer mode, Cass notes that Chad has frozen and is about to get both himself and Mr. No-Name vaporized. If nothing else, I want to find out who this guy is before he dies.

She barks with authority at Chad. "Cadet! Move! Follow me!"

It is at this moment that Alex grabs her arm and changes Cass' direction abruptly to follow Endra toward the woods. They are obliged to duck and weave to avoid a fatal phaser shot, and Cass, inanely, hears a line from a twentieth-century film in her head: "Serpentine, Sheldon! Serpentine!"

Phaser fire flies past you on all sides but miraculously, you both manage to avoid all of it, although some of it gets way too close for comfort.
Cass even manages to shake Chad out of his shock. He looks at her and immediately follows her and Alex. The man covering him tries to follow but gets stopped by a barrage of phaser fire that keeps him from going that way. He turns and instead follows Sandra in the other direction.
Cass, Alex and Chad run as fast as they can after Endra who let's them catch up a bit before picking up more speed. She throws her phaser at Alex. "Shoot at them, keep them away from us! I have to find the right way", she yells.
She leads you through the forest, mostly staying in the same direction but making adjustments and turns here and there. Behind you, you hear yelling, phaser shots. Some of the attackers run after you, some stay behind to take care of the others. You're not gaining much distance to the people chasing you but in the sprint, they at least don't get much of a chance to fire at you and if they do, it's not very accurate.
"Stay close together. Anyone who gets separated from the others is dead.", Endra yells over her shoulder.
Jun 24, 2019 5:18 pm
Alex reaches up to catch the phaser, fumbles and nearly drops it before pinning it against her chest in a panic. She looks down at it as she runs, curls her lip in a faintly disgusted sneer, and turns to hand it back to Cass. "Take this thing. You can use it better than I can."

She continues to follow Endra without argument.
Jun 24, 2019 5:25 pm
Without missing a beat, Cass takes the phaser and begins firing at their pursuers to give Endra cover to find whatever path she's seeking. Periodically, she ducks behind a good-sized tree to take more careful aim at whoever is in the lead.
