Prologue

While the production crew is researching topics for the next show, they come across two stories that look promising.

Story #1:
Quote:
This has been covered in the news largely due to it involving a missing child. The major news outlets stick to these core facts:
* George Lewiston, a retired ATF agent, and some accomplice conspired to kidnap Regina Balfour, a 5 year old girl.
* Regina and her parents were shopping in a Target store when George started a commotion. While her mother, Marissa Balfour, was distracted the accomplice grabbed Regina.
* George continued on a rampage through the store which kept store security and the police response from responding immediately to the missing child.
* George took his own life before he could be apprehended, his accomplice was seen on security cameras but has not been identified.

There are a number of less prominent media outlets reporting additional details which have been spread by social media.
* When police were closing in on George he began ranting about some reliious group, things like "Their church is a lie", "The Passover Angel isn't what it seems", "You have to let me stop the cult".
* The Balfour family are prominent members in an eccentric religious group, the Church of the Passover Angel.
Story #2:
Quote:
Another story that happened recently was an unexplained death in a rural house. Officer Arthur Donnelley was killed in the line of duty during an investigation. No details of the investigation are given however, only that his death was likely retaliation for prior arrests and seemed unrelated to his current work.

Again social media and the less mainstream media outlets carry on with additional details.
* Officer Donnelley's death is unrelated to his investigation because it was an unpredictable suicide.
* Police are investigating this as a murder since some of the evidence is inconsistent with the way he died.
* They carry on with stories that all the owners of the house, including the ones that built it, came to a similar end.
OOC:
This represents the initial findings that might attract you to these potential cases. I hoped they'd appeal to spooky or conspiratorial leanings of the story, either to debunk or bring facts to light. If neither appeal I can put up a few other options.

Joe arrives late at the garden shed which was improvised as a filming studio for their amateur youtube channel. As he comes rushing in he quickly starts talking "Hey! How are you? Did you hear the new rumours?"

I think that ATF agent story is really suspicious, with that Passover Angel and whatnot... but I found this story on the sidelines about this suicide on a hunted house that just seems off somehow...
