With that roll I hope Heyop goes to make the catch, but Csillag just lands on him, she is safe, he is not. Lol.Feb 14, 2016 4:09 pm
Csillag manages to catch herself and slowly eases the rest of the way down, while Heyop -- noticing her trouble a little late to the game quickly makes his way to the base of the wall just as Csillag touches down -- her heart racing a little thanks to a close call with a nasty fall. Heyop recovers his lost (1) strain, pleased that his colleague didn't need his help.
Dusting off your hands, your lekku or whatnot you look around at the canyon you've crawled down into. It's a good 15-20 meters wide with large boulders and other rocks strewn about as a result of recent seismic activity that may have exposed this canyon to access. Some of the larger ones look cracked. You have climbed down the northern wall of the canyon and are resting in the shade of the overhanging rock as some reprieve from the dry and oppressive heat. Along the south wall you can see three fairly large cave entrances -- each a good 4m across.

I'd like to see a perception check (average PP) for each of you. Kaveri - I'd also like to see a hard (PPP) Survival check since you have a hunter background.Feb 14, 2016 4:36 pm
Catching a bit of his breath Heyop looks towards the caves now in front of him.

Relieved to have made it down without any injury Csillag lets out a long sigh while giving Heyop a quick wink. "Glad to know I would have had something soft to land if I had come tumbling down."

Heyop, Urik and Dagger chat amongst themselves a bit, pointing at the large rocks and boulders dotted around the canyon. Collectively, they're fairly certain that some of the breakage isn't natural -- it appears to have been some sort of trauma visited upon the rocks. There are also the occasional markings -- nothing indicating sentience. Then, well, then there's the pile of bleached bones just off to the left about 30 meters. And they're fairly certain there's another one to the right -- across the canyon about 75 meters away. Those don't seem like they naturally accumulated either. Each of Heyop, Dagger and Urk take 2 strain as they work out what they see before them and get a bit concerned at the implications.
Csillag mostly notices a lot of reddish dirt and earth, but is feeling better... having managed to get down the canyonside without hurting herself. She'll take a boost die on her next roll.

Kaveri also doesn't notice the piles of bones that are difficult to pick out against the terrain, but she does inspect a nearby boulder with concern.

Kaveri calls out softly to the others. "Let's proceed quietly - this looks like the kind of rock smashing done by a kind of big creature I've hunted before; the locals on Anoth call it a "Packy Headbanger." They sense vibrations and attack by smashing with a bone crest on their heads..."
She unships her heavy blaster rifle and looks around warily.

"Well Dagger did you want to scout ahead or should I?" Heyop whispered his hand going to his belt and adjusting it and looking around. "Kaveri is it to the right or the left?" Heyop asked pointing down the length of the canyon. It would probably help to not walk right into the beast when they're in it's feeding trough.

Dagger readies his blaster. I can take point. When has that ever gone badly?
He proceeds down the middle of the canyon keeping an eye on the walls of the cavern.

Kaveri follows, moving as quietly as she can, eyes flicking back and forth for any signs of movement. She's also aware that the probe droids may appear from above at any moment.

Crouching down Csillag reaches for her blaster and will take up a position behind the others as they move out.

Dagger tromps out into the canyon -- with the others cautiously following him -- and nothing appears to happen. Emboldened by the lack of danger. You are headed south -- towards the opposing canyon wall which has three fairly visible cave entrances in it. On your present course, you'll hit the wall -- and be between the western and central cave mouths. Dagger notices another pile of bleached bones almost directly ahead of him. He will have to lead you around the pile -- to the left or right.

Dagger leads the group left with an entirely undeserved sense of authority. He seems to have no doubt in his path, despite never having been on this planet before.
