Session 1- Travel to Juniper

Cinead had hoped to rest but it looks like Tim needs to be taken care of first.

As you pass the threshold to "Tim's Place" you are immediately hit with the smell of refuse. Looking around, you see that there is partially eaten food around the room in small heaps. At the end of a long hall, you see the morose girl bowing before a makeshift throne, seemingly cobbled together by pieces of furniture that might have previously populated this home. On the throne sits a goblin dressed in a motley of oversized silk and linen robes and weighed down slightly by golden necklaces and bracelets. He carries a scepter that bears his own hideous likeness on the end. Even on the throne, his face is just level with hers. He knocks the tray from her hands as his screechy voice rings out SWISS! I hate swiss! I've told you people a thousand times! NEVER send me swiss! The girl looks off the side with her dead eyes as she rasps We have never heard the word "swiss" before you came here. We still don't know what it is. He clobbers her in the head with his staff and she winces in pain. Its not MY job to EXPLAIN to you how to do YOUR job! Now go get me cheeses and do it right this time!! He shoves her back and she starts to turn back toward the door. He seems to notice your party for the first time. Ah who is this? New recruits? Why don't you come in and I'll teach you about how great I am?

You must the great Tim we have heard so much about. I must say you are not at all what I expected. Cinead steps forward towards Tim. He keeps a focus on the scepter, assuming it is the source of control this goblin seems to be exerting. Perhaps you can tell us how one such as you became so elevated.

The goblin stares at all of you expectantly.

The goblin smiles pleasantly at your group. Ah let met tell you my friends. I used to be a regular goblin, maybe even less than regular. I was the runt. Treated as worthless. One day, I had just had enough! I resolved to do something to change my situation. Thats when the spirit started speaking to me. It told me about the power I could wield, if only I let it join with me. He pauses a moment to clear some phlegm from his throat. Well, as soon as the spirit entered my body, I had all sorts of POWER! I didn't have to hang around the worthless rats that had abused me for so long. I taught them a lesson and came here. People seem to love me and I can't get enough of it!! He sighs dreamily and looks around at his collections. It's true what they say. Just wait around long enough doing nothing and suddenly everything will change for the better. He leans forward a bit and looks each of you closely in the eye. So! What presents did you bring me??

The goblin smiles gleefully Sure! A bit of power! He waves his hand a bit and a spectral hand appears and picks up the bracelet from Trissrie. Ooh shiny!! Or how about this one? he clears his throat a bit, waves one hand around with a pastry he seemed to produce from thin air as he turns to Laura How much room does a mushroom need to grow? He pauses, but continues before you have enough time to answer It needs as mushroom as possible!! Haha! Get it??? Mushroom!?

Laura- You didn't think the joke was remotely funny, but something comes over you and you find yourself unable to restrain the stream of laughter that bursts forth from you. You find that you can't stop laughing and it almost hurts as your body convulses. You fall the floor, still giggling uncontrollably. The goblin smiles appreciatively. I love a good audience! You guys are great! Just like that, you feel the effect fade and you regain your composure. He turns his attention to Barrot and Cinaed How about you folks? What have you brought for me? Better be good.
Barrot seems uninterested in responding and just grunts as he inspects the room. This seems to bother the goblin, who seems to not have noticed Zila yet.

Cinead shuffles through his pack looking for something before pulling out a folded piece of paper. He smiles ar he holds it before Tim. I am afraid I fo not have a gift for you but I do have a question. I have a letter from one of mt teachers, in it he gave me the beginnings of a spell he came across in his travels but it is missing elements. Perhaps in your great wisdom you could tell me what I have not learned.

The goblin turns to you and looks you slowly in the eyes Wow. I have gotten a lot of stupid gifts, but this one absolutely is the attempt I have EVER seen. You must be a new kind of stupid I've never heard of. It's truly an honor to have experienced this level of idiocy in my life. I just hope its not contagious.

While you've been insulted before in your life, these harsh words feel like they actually cause mental pain, in a way you recognize must carry some arcane force to them.

Laura- Thinking through some of the epics you are familiar with, the goblin's story is only slightly different. It would be more consistent to say he is possessed by some spirit rather than any form of partnership. Supposedly the entire costume is just for show. You also recall these spirits being more mischievous rather than dangerous.

Cinaed- You are self-confident enough that this little goblin's jibes don't really cut into you at all. You resist all effects from his spell.

The goblin scowls at Cinaed a bit, disappointed he didn't get a stronger reaction. You losers should move along. Go out and bring me something of great value. I grow bored of you.
