With winter in the wane, the rabble rousers of Kalbacken wandered to the shrine of Frostbite. The great ice spider, reduced by the warming sun, traded words with the party. While their shaky alliance will continue, there is no love lost between the parties.
Shadow and Taft interrogated the spirit, checking it had upheld its side of the bargain.
Vasil meanwhile told the great arachnid of its personal shortcomings, criticising its interpersonal skills.
Leaving Frostbite to thaw in the sun, the group - taking with them Ragna - headed North to find the Moeve. Vasil tried communicating with the tree spirits along the way, melting snow onto their roots.
With the tracking prowess of Shadow and Taft, the group soon found their way to a woodland clearing. A gathering of Moeve. Ragna was dismayed at the sight, terror replacing her usual stoicism.
Shadow, greeting the tiny behoov'ed beings made some unknown faux pas, announcing the group's arrival. The Moeve reacted with shock and aggression, tearing a small hole in reality, in order to summon an avatar of their collective willpower.
The apparition; otherworldly and glowing, advanced with menace. Ragna and Shadow fled in its wake, with Vasil standing in stunned silence.
In the face of such a presence, only Taft stood tall. Taft the unblinking stepped toward the source of power, and communicated his intent.
The Moeve called back their champion, and communicated with the travellers. Visions of death and destruction. Rumbling earth, falling houses, the death of Kalbacken. Sadness accompanied this projection, sympathy. Images of the Tower, hate, fear.
The Moeve leave, and our party rests. They must decipher this alien interaction.

Vasil and Shadow continue their riding practice.
Upon emerging from the cave, Shadow offers Taft a way back to the land of flesh. Part of him lingers in the world of spirit.
Shadow greets an "acquaintance" (like we're believing that) who warns that its dominant intends to hunt Vasil in return for its lost eye. With the shadow of the Tower looming on the horizon, this heralds a dangerous new enemy at a time when Kallbacken needs more friends.
As they reunited, Shadow smelled its beloved nearby. It ran and greeted it, and learned that the Dominant of the Ghost Pack, Spring's First Fang, is out for revenge against Vasil, who allegedly blinded it in one eye seven years prior. After telling its beloved a little about the tower and recommending that it eat as many Tower followers as possible, Shadow returned to its friends and told them what it learned.
