Starting Out a Character Guidelines!

Aug 29, 2019 1:02 am
Hey everybody!

For starting a character in this campaign, we'll be first starting everybody with FULL hit dice for their class level up to level 4. This means that if you're a rogue, you're getting max health of 1d8(8) until level four, then you start rolling. Point buy for every character is 27 points, and here is a handy calculator for it if you don't already have it. As far as silver, this is going to be depending on your background, and we're forgoing the starting equipment. Instead, you will use this to outfit yourself before game start. When done, please reply here with your character sheet or in a PM. Thanks!

Hey Cyngi is there a way that I can share the gamersplane character sheet in a thread? Do I just copy/paste the link or should I free-hand all the info into a reply? Thanks!

Do also have a link to your homebrew race? I am mostly curious

Make your character with the GP DND 5th character sheet and add that to this game

Are we sharing our character sheets with the party? I have no problem doing so. Also, has everyone picked a class yet?

Oh I see it you click submit character, thanks!
I haven't put items or anything yet since I'm not sure how much I get based on my background but I'll add that once we go over it.

I created my Halfling Blood Hunter, with standard rules using DnDBeyond https://ddb.ac/characters/15814785/KEFPXN, You can check him out if you want, but there will be changes made to him.

You don't necessarily need to if you'd rather not. I at least need to see it through the character maker on the site.

Oh, actually no, I did not. I'm basing it on situation. With your character, you've been working. While they do tithe your earnings, you would have about 5d4x10 silver for outfitting. As far as where, just use the standard 5e tools, substituting the gold for silver.

Correct. Though, I will tell you that the flintlock pistol I was speaking of will not count against that silver. If you need stats for the flintlock, I can provide. It will come with 20 standard rounds, and 10 silver.

Yes! That worked.

Hi everyone! Thanks for having me in the game! I'll be playing a squishy human wizard, for sure.

Rolls

Starting Silver - (4d4, 2d4, 2d4, 2d4)

4d4 : (3233) = 11

2d4 : (42) = 6

2d4 : (12) = 3

2d4 : (21) = 3

To make a character sheet public, click on the book icon in that character's row on your Characters page (where the gear, pencil, and X icons are). If it's gray, it's private and nobody can view it. If the book icon is red, it's public.

My character sheet is here. Everyone should be able to view it; otherwise you'd see "No character found" or a similar error message.

How did you hyperlink your sheet? Is it as simple as copy/pasting the url?
Aug 29, 2019 10:50 pm
Yes. In the text field, look for the "link" icon (mousing over should display a "Link" tooltip). Clicking the icon will generate a pop-up window to enter in the URL.

If you click on the icon without highlighting text, you'll get a generic "Your text to link here..." which you can either replace with a convenient word, or paste the URL itself again. Otherwise, highlighting a word before you click on the icon (such as what I did with the word "here") will conveniently make that word or phrase a hyperlink after you enter in the URL.

Code-wise, it will look like this (I've added spaces next to the square brackets so that the forum doesn't try to parse them):
[ url=https://example.com ] https://example.com [ /url ]
[ url=https://example.com ] Link to example.com [ /url ]
load next
