"Now fire, to force it out."
Oct 29, 2019 2:38 pm
Wei simply waits and watches. Knowing his skill set is for when it gets close and personal, he buses his time.

OOC:
Just to clarify, the creature has not entered its burrow. It's still out in the open. If you intend to get close and personal, you can do that now. But yeah, you can wait for it to make the first move.

OOC:
Oh, I though that it might be stunned by not doing anything for a round. But ok...
Oct 29, 2019 10:34 pm
Feng's hands burst into flame, the sleeves of her clothes becoming singed. She thrusts both fists forward, her back arcing at an unnatural angle as fire flies from her fist through the air.
OOC:
Burning Hands Tags: 2/3, fiery, thrown - near, dangerous

Going for that tail.

Kalam runs in behind the fireball, using it as cover to close the gap. His blades drawn and crossed before him in defensive positions. From what he had seen of this creatues victims, one sting could be fatal. He changes his angel of approach when Feng's fireball explodes, coming at the repulsive monster from the side.
He strikes, glowing blue sand trailing a translucent sigil behind him. Crackling electric energy flows down his arm, coalescing into his blade.
OOC:
Edit for successful strike, targeting the tail of course.

Battle Music!

The combination of fireball and electrified blade rid the monster of its deadly sting. The monster bellows in a painful rage, its tail flopping uselessly behind it. Thrashing about, it fails to find Kalam with its horns. It lowers its head and charges Wu Meng.
OOC:
Defy Danger, Wu Meng! What does everyone else do?

Wu Meng expected this, having presented himself as a target while the others could accomplish their attacks. He trusted that he could move out of harm's way faster than the beast could charge, and leapt backwards to find higher ground.
OOC:
Oof, bad roll

Mimi let loose another arrow at her target.

Turns out that Mimi had to use up a few arrows to hit the angry charging beast.

Hurt, the creature begins to burrow into the mud. It covers its retreat by spewing a sticky, web-like substance.

What do you do?

Wu Meng flung another rock its way, hoping to stop its retreat.
OOC:
Spending 1 ki. Forgot why I didn't spend some to prevent the earlier damage lol. Edit: reduce ammo by one. 2 ki left, 2 ammo left

Battle Music!

The flung rock thuds against the creature's thick hide. It bellows in pain again, and burrows deeper. You can barely see it now. The remaining scorplings squirm and mewl blindly.

What do you do?

"We haven't considered the troubling question: what if this beast turned aggressive and attacked people because it was merely trying to protect its own brood?" The monk's contemplative disposition gave him pause.

Iko stands nearby, watching the scene and clutching his mostly useless dagger. "It didn't seem terribly concerned with its youngs' safety."
Oct 30, 2019 1:48 pm
OOC:
If that is roleplay then I approve. But just in case you are forgetting, Mimi did tell everyone what she saw: that the creature was devouring its young. Not very motherly.
Oct 30, 2019 1:51 pm
OOC:
Yes it's roleplay! But it is possible some creatures devour their young because they are stressed or threatened. (My poor hamster mom once did that. :( )

OOC:
wow. Sads. Anyway..
Kalam looks at webbed up hole in the ground, then towards the younglings. "These will pose a future threat. They must be exterminated." Kalam turns his daggers into a reverse grip, going fully offensive. He moves quickly to take out as many of the young as possible.
OOC:
Implementing my Flowing technique. If read properly, i can one shot each then I can get them all, but I'll have to roll damage for each of course.
[ +- ] Flowing Technique

Rolls

Flowing Technique - (2d6+2, 1d8)

1d8 : (2) = 2

OOC:
No need. You effortlessly kill all the younglings. The mother has disappeared down the burrow. It's wide enough to crawl through on all fours or in a crouch. It's pitch dark. What now?
