Still hope'ing to hear what would be a good character class that the party is lacking.

Why not just make what you want? As per the limitations of the rules, of course.

I'm with CancerMan. Make what you want and I will adapt the adventure to fit the party.

I am assuming same guidelines as other game for this part -- hope I am correct

Oh well maybe not -- I might be confusing things -- I thought we were 5th level with 10,000 gold but maybe that his WhtKnt's other game only.

But yes I was about to ask for clarification on that as looking to validate that and could not find it anywhere. So are we starting at 1st level and adhering to all the normal 5e 1st level rules?

Note clarification on this and acquiring equipment are all I have left to do before posting my character as when building higher level characters I always plot out their advancement so all I have to do is dial things back 4 levels if we are starting at first level.
