OOC:
Ah I'll keep it in mind. Rolled above 7 damage.

Cecily is rather surprised to see Ataan physically strike at what is a gaseous entity, and for his attack to have connected in some way. Reaching into her bag she pulls out an acorn, and eats it. Her body goes rigid as she gasps for air, her body turning pale. The branches on the nearby tree begin to extend around the mist, boxing it in.
OOC:
Okay I cast ensnare (with a raise I think?) on the mist.

I really hope I'm doing this right.

Nothing seems to be working so Gerald decides to scoop up some dirt from the ground and throw it at the mist. If nothing else, maybe it will be confused.

Eat that!

Ataan attacks the mist, and as it attacked Dawlish, it solidified a bit, allowing it to be struck. His main gauche beats up the mist a bit, but doesn't cause any wounds.
OOC:
Damage is less than the creature's Toughness.
Gerald gives up his idea to Taunt, and stead uses a dirty trick (see what I did there?). The mist goes for it, somehow.
OOC:
Rolled a 6 and an 11 (6,5), so success with 1 raise. The mist is -2 Parry, and Shaken.
Cecily's spell, Entangle, does manage to briefly enwrap the mist with vines and roots that burst from the ground, but being incorporeal, it simply passes through it on its turn.
The Red Mist attempts to overcome being Shaken....
OOC:
The Red Mist is a Wild Card character, like a PC, and so benefits from a Wild Die.
It recovers from the off-putting dirt trick, and envelopes Praise God and Dawlish, and attacks. It's attack hits automatically everyone in its area. Dawlish passes out, and Praise God takes 1 wound and is Shaken.
OOC:
Praise God's Toughness is 5, so the damage beats it (Shaken) with one raise (1 wound).

Round 2

Initiative: Gerald (Joker), Cecily (Ace), Mist (10), Praise God (7), Ataan (5)

The Joker allows Gerald to choose to act whenever.

Please add a Spirit roll to any attack you make on the creature.

Rolls

Mist Spirit - (1d8, 1d6, RA)

1d8 : (7) = 7

1d6 : (1) = 1

Red Mist damage - (2d4, RA)

(342) = 9

Deck Draws

Initiative: Ataan, Cecily, Gerard, Praise, Mist
5 of Clubs
Ace of Diamonds
Black Joker

OOC:
Gerard gets +2 to his action and damage if he attacks btw. XD
Nov 27, 2019 5:12 pm
OOC:
Ohhh he's attacking alright...
The dirt worked! Gerald scoops up another big handful and flings it into the mist.
You're going down!

Rolls

Dirty trick 1d8 +2 because joker - (1d8+2)

(5) + 2 = 7

Wild d6+2 - (1d6+2)

(4) + 2 = 6

OOC:
Can I maintain concentration to keep this thing partially restrained or no?
Nov 28, 2019 3:57 am
The midst tries to dodge... But is distracted by the dirt. It is holy ground...

Cecily can't maintain concentration as the Red Mist already broke free (by playing the insubstantial card).

Rolls

Agility to dodge - (1d6, 1d6, RA)

1d6 : (5) = 5

1d6 : (2) = 2

Nov 29, 2019 10:39 pm
Damn. "Ataan!"

Cecily runs up to Ataan, grabs his blade-wielding hand, and swiftly runs her other hand along the blade, a small amount of blood now covering it. Cecily notes that hurt much more then she originally thought it would.
OOC:
Rolling, not using a component.

Damn, and a miss!

Rolls

Smite - (1d10-2, 1d6, RA)

1d10-2 : (3) - 2 = 1

1d6 : (2) = 2

Dec 1, 2019 7:25 pm
The Red Mist moves to envelope Gerald and attacks, opening shallow cuts on his skin.
OOC:
No effect as the attack damage didn't exceed Gerald's Toughness.

Praise God and Ataan are up.

Rolls

Automatic Damage - (2d4)

(31) = 4

OOC:
I'm assuming loading a wheelock pistol is something that takes at least one turn, hence the swordplay
Invigorated by the sight of earthly weapons inflicting damage on this incorporeal thing, Praise God draws his rapier from its scabard and lunges for the foul creature.

Rolls

Fighting Roll (inc. Edge Florentine) - (1d8+1)

(3) + 1 = 4

Wildcard - (1d6)

(4) = 4

Dec 2, 2019 4:23 am
PG hits, so roll Str+1d4 damage.

FYI: It takes 2 actions to reload a wheellock pistol.
Dec 2, 2019 2:47 pm
Ataan raises an eyebrow but doesn't say anything before swinging his bloodied weapon.

Rolls

Fight with Gangup - (1d4+1, RA)

(3) + 1 = 4

Wild with Gangup - (1d6+1, RA)

(5) + 1 = 6

Dec 2, 2019 3:50 pm
Ataan also hits with one raise, roll damage please.
Dec 2, 2019 7:03 pm
OOC:
Damage should be 10 total.

The Red Midst is Shaken by Ataan's attack.

New round: Drawing initiative

Ataan and Praise God are up again, then the Red Mist.
OOC:
Technically I should have shuffled the deck after a joker, but I don't know how, haha. Well go with this for now.

Deck Draws

Ataan, Cecily, Gerard, Praise, Mist
Ace of Clubs
3 of Clubs
3 of Hearts
Ace of Spades
6 of Diamonds
Dec 3, 2019 2:49 pm
OOC:
I think it's under Game Details, 12 total I think.
Ataan takes advantage of the Mists pause in onslaught. "Pull the man out while it's distracted." he yells before attacking and moving away from the mist.

Qralloq working through the rules: Parry is 2, so successful hit with a raise. Damage is 12 which exceeds Toughness of 8 with a raise. As it was Shaken already, this causes two wounds. A third wound will incapacitate it.
