Yes level 1, and if you are referring to those from Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica then yes.

Anyone know where I can find a complete list of the archetypes for a Fighter? I'm looking for one that would fit a Goliath?

I'm using a mix of deities from 3.5, 4e, as well as some of my own. The gods/goddesses, their domains, and their original source are the following:
Aengrist, God of law and order - Order, Law - 3.5 (Frostburn)
Bahamut, God of civilization - Life, War - 3.5
Corellon, God of art - Light - 3.5
Crolazar, God of death and lust - Death, Grave - me
Erebos, God of darkness and magic - Arcana, Knowledge - me
Garl Glittergold, God of jokes and mischief - Trickery - 3.5
Gruumsh, God of storms and wrath - Tempest, War - 3.5
Lolth, Goddess of fate and motherhood - Trickery - 3.5
Melora, Goddess of nature - Grave, Nature - 4e
Moradin, God of creation and smithing - Forge, Knowledge - 3.5
Pelor, the Sun - Life, Light - 3.5
Sekolah, God of the hunt - Nature, Tempest - 3.5
Tiamat, Goddess of ambition - Trickery, War - 3.5

I'm thinking a female dragonborn (Blue) tempest cleric of Gruumsh (Sekolah for tempest is really for water)

I was looking at making a high elf divination wizard. Nothing fancy like a centaur revised ranger, haha.
I am very curious to see these Homebrew races!

Just saw the rantar race and they look amazingly fun for this campaign. Raccoons were my favorite animals growing up, even!
I am definitely interested in a rantar divination wizard.

Since Goliath live for the fight and are always looking for that next challenge, I've got a question. What Fighter archetypes would make sense to go for? I'm thinking of going with Soldier or something like it for the background.
Oct 10, 2019 9:47 pm
Dragonborn Cleric of Gruumsh
Centaur Ranger
Goliath Fighter
Rantar Wizard
Fairly well rounded group, I've a number of ideas that could be fun to play, a Shadow Sorcerer, a Twilight domain Cleric (if the DM was keen to use Unearthed Arcana and figure out which deities it fit), but something more rogueish seems a bit more appropriate. Would an Inquisitive be permitted?

[ +- ] Faerlin
Faerlin is a female Dragonborn (blue) Tempest Cleric of Gruumsh and is an ex-Vigilante. She was against the criminal elements of society. Appear she was done wrong and now takes it rather personally. She is not the person you want on her bad side. She was known not to be the kindest person when she was active. Let you live doesn't mean you have to be able to walk again.

That and an Inquisitive Rogue seems like a good fit. Means we have bases covered in dungeon/trap-filled environments, and I should be solid if we end up dealing with any intrigue surrounding the current tense political climate. Elocutionist or College of Whispers Bard could be a solid choice as well, but I'm kinda digging the Inquisitive.

I'm fine with the Inquisitive archetype, though remember that you guys are starting at level 1.
Oct 11, 2019 1:32 am
Question....Can we switch around the starting gear for our character? I see my Goliath Fighter as more of a two-handed fighter and not as a sword and shield guy.
Oct 11, 2019 1:48 am
Faerlin is completed now. You can look it over and see if there is anything that needs changing.
Oct 11, 2019 2:04 am
I am almost done with my character now, but I cannot find a good background that scratches the itch of both a family-oriented trickster who is also learned. Might just default to Sage, I'm sure there are well education people throughout the land?

Just looked over Arkron/Ranos, and aside from the name/label not matching the only thing I'd change is get your spells to be tied to Int instead of Strength.
For the rest of the group, I'd like to start discussing the why/how the group came together so as to avoid trying to come up spur of the moment why a given character would be with the group. It doesn't have to be something elaborate backstory, but I'd like a reason more binding than, "I'm getting paid to do this."

Just got finished looking over Jahred, I am very intrigued at seeing how this group interacts. What feat did you take for the variant human? Also the various personality traits?
Oct 13, 2019 2:22 am
Not unusual for Faerlin to travel. She usually isn't too home at most places too long. He he he. Best to spread the word.
Oct 13, 2019 2:38 am
Jeebus, I forgot about the feat. I was torn between a couple, I'll have to take a look when I get home. Also trying to figure out if I want him neutral, or chaotic good.
Despite the sour taste the case that caused Jahred to leave his home town left in his mouth, he's not an edgy rogue. He should be fairly friendly and easy going sort, and while he never cared for his father's lessons, he still can't help but try and look for leverage, and deception comes fairly easy to him. He's inquisitive by nature, and loves a good mystery or puzzle, which should make him pretty easy to snag with those adventure hooks, and his bond is with those he calls his friends. While he lacks any direct enemies (yet), sins of the father may come back to haunt him.

Travel with Fearlin, she can fix that problem and you can have enemies. She is a traveling bad guy that is a good guy.
Her and Jahred would make fine traveling partners.

Torn between Observant and Keen Mind. Probably going to run with Observant though. I'll think about it on my way home.
Oct 13, 2019 7:09 am
Well, Faerlin and I are talking about basically having a Gotrek and Felix meets Sherlock and Watson thing. She was a vigilante, he likes solving mysteries, and is a bit more socially capable. Anything in your background that might mix well with that?

Hi guys!
I’m thinking of a playing a CG paladin (high elf, Oath of Ancients). How do you guys feel this would fit in (or not) with the current party? I understand the cleric might have conflicts with this character. Would this lead to good role playing or would it lead to too much conflict and derail the campaign?
I enjoy role playing off of other players so I think it could work. I guess it depends on how "evil" the cleric is. Murder Hobo psychopath or more like might makes right (I’m always right)?
Looking forward to your input!

Faerlin smiles. To each their own. She doesn't inter too much in others business as long as it doesn't cross her up. She is rather selfish that way.

I haven't played with an Oath of Ancients paladin ever, should definitely be interesting. Welcome aboard.
Nov 13, 2019 11:06 pm
Glad to hear it, I'll take a look after work. If you ended up going with the knight order background, I heartily encourage coming up with details about said order.
The only organizations in the setting this far don't fit an Oath of Ancients paladin, so you have free reign in coming up with details. On a separate note, do you want to have your character start out as part of the caravan or a prisoner of the goblins?

Just looked over Meneloss, and he is approved. Something I want to reiterate just in case I didn't mention it already, while the various races may worship certain gods in this setting to an overwhelming degree, none of the gods or goddesses are racial deities. So while orcs may make offerings to Gruumsh almost exclusively and the dwarves may pray to Moradin to an overwhelming degree, Gruumsh is not the God of Orcs nor is Moradin the God of Dwarves.

Caravaner!
Meneloss (men-el-oss) is a Knight of the Order of the Sacred Hart, a militant order of elven knights who are devotees to Corellon.
They have a network of hidden fortresses in the deep forests. The Knight commanders often send young knights-errant on quests, though sometimes they undertake such adventures on their own without orders if they are moved to. The Order of the Sacred Hart is dedicated to rooting out darkness and evil from the Sylvan Elves’ realm and beyond. They are sometimes used as emissaries from the Court of the King and Queen of the wood elves to conduct diplomacy in the human kingdoms.

So how do you want to bring Meneloss into the rest of the group? Part of the caravan, goblin prisoner, something else?

It would be good if he can be part of the caravan, that way he can join right in.

Oh! I must have come only slightly before the rest of the party.
A lone traveler allowing the fates to weave her path, until sensing the storm she sought shelter, instead she finds an ominous skull-shaped cave 'mouth'. She saw no other choice. As a devotee of the pure essence of nature and of life and change, she decided to investigate this foul place for signs of use. Alone, she was not feeling bold, so she'd go slowly and look for evidence recent use... not necessarily to smite monsters, just a peek... ...

Rethinking what the situation was, I'd rather have been trapped somehow. Maybe they just ambushed her as she entered or whatever?
