Interest Check: Dark Sun D&D 5e

Hi everyone, in the last couple of months I've seen two attempts to start up a Dark Sun game, so I know there are some rabid fans out there. I'd like to run one with a 5e conversion. I've been reviewing the available conversion resources out there and I believe I've found one that works sensibly. I will also incorporate the UA Mystic rules with a few tweaks so that we can get psionics!

So, interest check. I'll leave this up for a week, which will give me time to set things up. I'll need you to be comfortable with 5e, and actually like the Athas setting.

If you're interested, I'd also like to know if you'd object to, or have played some of the old modules?

Which conversion are you using ? (Not that it maters, I want to play anyway.)
Darksun has and always will be my favorite setting.

I'll jump in. I'm not sure I'm extremely familiar with 5e, but I love Dark Sun.

"Dress light" is right! Based on the artwork from the modules and the books, everyone in Athas must die of skin cancer by the time they're in their 20s!

Definite interest from me. I've run and played tons of 5e here, and have never played any Dark Sun games, so no spoilers known. It has been on my wishlist for 25 years to dig into this setting.

if Jabes is calling dibs on the Thri-kreen, I'm going for half-giant (or maybe mul...) barbarian !!

It's Athas. No one lives into their 20s. :P

The way to fight that barbarian is to yank on those nipple chains.
