OOC:
I'm 11/10 fatigue so calming breath will put me back on (but maybe I should sit down for a full 5 turn meditation stance to heal)

OOC:
It's Kashita's turn, right?

OOC:
Yes currently, if Qrallroq doesn't post an action for Kashita today then we'll move onto Aki
Dec 9, 2019 2:22 pm
Kashita takes a calming breath as they back up. This drops her out of incapacitated.
Dec 9, 2019 2:29 pm
OOC:
Aki is still fine so she'll be a bit suicidal.
I'm changing into Fire stance at the beginning of my turn.
Inspired by Yuikimi's sudden arrival, Aki steps forward, toward Sugai, and tries to hit him with an unarmed attack.
OOC:
Taking the 4 and 6 as well as both explosions.
That leaves me with a total of 3 Successes, 3 Strife and 1 Opportunity
If 3 successes are a successful attack, the 3 strife count as bonus successes due to my fire stance. I also use my Opportunity to remove one strife from myself.

Rolls

(146) = 11

Yoshi takes a step back to breath and re-evaluate the situation.

Sugai's attention is focused almost entirely on the Unicorn samurai and he seems quite surprised and barely avoids the surprisingly energetic punch thrown by Aki. From his breathing he seems to be quite taxed by the combat so far.

Seeing the tide turn now they are outnumbered the two surviving Ronin turn and start to flee. Seeing it Sugai yells in anger "COWARDS!" before taking a step back and delivering a vicious blow towards Aki's neck…

Yukimi quickly pads forwards aiming to cut off any avenue for Sugai to flee.
OOC:
Ok, this is a big one I'm afraid, result is here but it works out as 14 points of damage on the attack. As Aki hasn't taken any hits yet that will place her on 14 Fatigue and grant her the Incapacitated condition, based on my reading though that's the limit of it for that attack.

All PC's are back up...

OOC:
I deserved that xD
That's what happens when you punch someone who's armed with a sword

Are we doing turn order or just all PCs acting together?

OOC:
Can just act in any order as we're rapidly approaching the end of the fight

Badly wounded from Sugai's attack, Aki takes a step backward and takes moment to breathe. Her idea of attacking Sugai head-on had proven to not be the best, especially since she is unarmed.
Maybe Yuikimi should handle him.
OOC:
If I switch into water stance, can I move one step away and take two calming breaths to recover two fatigue? If not, I'll just take one calming breath after moving away

OOC:
Afraid not, you can't take the same action twice. You can however use your free move and then use one of your actions to do a Manoeuvre to move again as well as taking a Calming Breath
Dec 12, 2019 3:06 pm
OOC:
Okay, in that case, I'll take two steps back so that I'm on the field right to the south of Yoshi

Kashita swears and steps forward, moving fluidly toward Sugai, and drives her yari at him.
OOC:
Water stance, free move one diagonal square, yari has reach of 2, water stance non-check action: Warrior's Resolve.
[ +- ] Warrior's Resolve
[ +- ] Heroic Charge
Result: blank, 2 success, 2 strife.
OOC:
Success, so Heroic Charge adds 1 success for the 1 range band moved: 3 successes. If I needed to move two range bands, then no Warrior's Resolve and 2 bonus successes: 4 successes.

Yari: base damage 5

Yoshi maintains his unbreakable meditative state, as the battle continues, slowly reexamining the recent events and learning from his defeat. "Defeat is like the wind that blows the sands of honor burning the fires of glory. But what is we are water..."
OOC:
I missed the monk crap :D

As Sugai half turns towards the threat of Kitsuki Yuikimi's advance Kashita seizes her opportunity and drives her Yari forwards into the Scorpions thigh. With a cry of pain he collapses to the floor, before he can regain his composure Yuikimi's sword is at his neck. "If you wish to keep your miserable head attached to your body I would advise remaining still" she says in a quiet tone that brooks no arguments.

As you all catch your breaths several towns guard come running over. Yuikimi quickly takes charge and sends some after the fleeing ronin whilst the rest take Sugai into custody. Once that is dealt with Yuikimi turns to you all "Quickly, we should return to the tournament and report to Toshimoko-sama".
OOC:
Ok, combat is over. I'm going to judge this as the end of the scene so if your Fatigue or Strife are over half your Endurance or Composure ratings respectively then reduce them to half (round up if needed) now.

Is there anything else you want to do here or are you all following Yuikimi's advice and heading straight back to the tournament?
Dec 13, 2019 12:04 pm
After taking a couple of seconds to breathe, Aki nods. They were lucky that Yuikimi had shown up when she did - and Aki was lucky the others decided to follow her in the first place. If she had faced Sugai and his accomplices by herself, she would most certainly be dead by now.
"You're right, we should return to the tournament at once!", she says.
OOC:
I don't have anything left to do here so we can move on back
Dec 13, 2019 1:36 pm
Yoshi breaths out a long, long yogic breath as he finds internal peace ;)
he wakes up, basically "We must check on Hitoshi! That's what Doji Satsume-sama would want" he speaks as if his meditation took him to the spirit world and beyond
OOC:
Did my honor/glory change? I mean... that duel went pretty bad :(

Kashita recovers the switched out practice sword from Sugai before they can chuck it into a fire. She stuffs it in her belt then helps Yuikimi herd the miscreant to justice, blood tinged yari at the ready.

OOC:
No you did fine, this wasn't a duel per-see but a challenge and you both mutually withdrew so no harm no foul
Yuikimi glances at Kashita and nods in approval. You return to the tournament grounds with a bloody and defeated Bayushi Sugai in tow, only to find Riku grimly preparing to commit ritual suicide for accidentally injuring Hitoshi. The Mantis stands to the side of Toshimoko, pale from his injury but otherwise seeming to be fine. Toshimoko's face looking as if it was carved from stone.
When he sees you, his expression changes to surprise. "Hold!" he commands to Riku "Clearly there is more going on here than first appears!". All eyes in the tournament grounds turn to you, the silence whilst everyone waits for you to speak is almost deafening....

Kashita puts the spear in a rack and advances toward Toshimoko holding the practice sword in both hands in offering to him while bowing deeply.
