Hi all, I'm thinking of spinning up a game of the above if there's any interest.

I'm not familiar with that one. What's it about?

It's a Cyberpunk setting (from the FFG site):

In the not so-distant future, humanity has spread out across the solar system, unlocked the frontiers of cyberspace, and created millions of intelligent androids in its own image. At the heart of this progress stands a ladder leading to the riches of the stars—the massive space elevator called the Beanstalk. And at its base sprawls the biggest, meanest, and most exciting city on Earth: New Angeles.

Fantasy Flight Games is proud to present Shadow of the Beanstalk, an Android Sourcebook for the Genesys Roleplaying System!

Take on the role of cops, con artists, roughnecks, and escaped androids trapped between greedy corporations, corrupt officials, and vicious street gangs. Outwit your foes, uncover their conspiracies, flee their retribution, and maybe you’ll survive. Who knows? Maybe you’ll even get rich...

Hmm, I do like FFG's narrative dice system, and I've been wanting to check out Genesys. What would the focus of the game be?

Nice, sounds interesting. Will you be accepting new players?

The setting definitely definitely sounds interesting! I have no idea about the system (except that it used the same dice as the FFG Star Wars games, I think) and I don't have the books, though

It's a Cyberpunk setting (near future Sci-Fi, similar to Shadowrun if you're familiar but without all the fantasy elements) and you'll be street level 'runners' trying to eke a living out whilst not pissing off the wrong people too much.

Yup, there are pre-gens available for this adventure so if there are a few new people wanting to play then I'll probably say for people to stick with those for ease of the adventure.

It's virtually identical to the Star Wars games from a mechanics perspective. Main differences are how you manage Talents (there aren't any talent trees in Genesys, you buy them in a more free-form way) and the vehicle combat rules have been streamlined a bit to make them closer to the way personal combat is handled. Again, there are pre-gens so you won't need any of the books for this.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll definitely toss my hat in. What ptegens are available?
Nov 1, 2019 2:48 pm
In that case, I'm definitely interested

I'm also willing to give it a try.

I responded on discord too, but I would love to get in on this, and am a new player!

Put me on your waitlist. I don't want to take a slot from a player who may be interested in getting into a Genesys game but isn't in one already. Better to get more folks into our little corner of GP. :)

Well with you SavageBob that takes it to 5 expressing an interest which I've found is a good number :)

I've dropped you all an invite to the game but the link to it is here if you've not received it. We'll discuss characters and the like in the in-game threads.

This will be a lot of fun, I enjoyed the initial adventure and the Happy Decade of drinking my PC had.

I like Cyberpunk, and I have Genesys core, but I do not know Android...
