OOC:
Average difficulty, upgraded (y'all need some Story Points!), with a setback, since the phone might spook 'em. Final roll will be vs. RP+setback.

OOC:
In my mind, Streetwise isn't a social skill check per se, so knowing his strength or flaw may not be all that helpful. Streetwise is knowing where to look, who to call, as well as what to say to make ne'er-do-wells keep calm. So it has a social element. But it's not a social skill check to the point where you could just call this guy up with Streetwise every time. I'll have him give a lead on a better place to poke, if that's OK.
"Aw, geez," the voice crackles over the phone. "You know I can't talk about that kinda stuff over the phone. Parole officer might be listening in. You tried the hair salon on 1st and Gallagher? Gotta go!"
Feb 5, 2020 3:05 am
Marv closes his trusty flip phone. "If we're not ready to hit B'town, I got a tip on a spot the Pantones might hang out." He tells them about the incomplete answer his CI gave, suggesting they might know what they're barrelling into if they go and scope the gang out a bit in advance.
Feb 5, 2020 2:11 pm
"That sounds good to me. They got the jump on us last time, so I'd rather not go into the viper's nest blind if we can avoid it." Hank tucks his mask into an inner jacket pocket, then unlocks the doors to the Cadillac.

"Don't park too close watch for cameras outside when we park."

[ +- ] Double Crown Salon
The salon indicated by Marv's CI isn't far, maybe a five-minute drive in the Caddie and still in the business district. For a place you suspect might be frequented by gangbangers, the place looks awfully—cute? Kind of posh and dainty? Bells on the door announce your arrival. Inside, a tall man with brightly dyed hair seems to be washing the hair of a middle-aged lady, whose Pomeranian cuddles in her lap.

"Welcome to Double Crown! You here for a cut or style?"
OOC:
So, up to you how to pursue this. You could try to use a social check on him at Average difficulty upgraded (RP) to get him to loosen up a bit before trying Streetwise (essentially using any advantages you net as boosts on the second check). Or you might try to roll an Average Streetwise check upgraded (RP) to get him to open up about what he knows about the Pantones, but this gets a setback for the fact that a client is present. Other PCs can chip in on either check (adding up to 2 boosts), but I'd like IC justification for it.
Feb 5, 2020 3:19 pm
"We can wait until you're done with the client Sir." Max states looking around and organizes any magazines he sees.
OOC:
For Streetwise I would roll GGY, if I had to do an approach for social it'll likely be untrained GGG.
Feb 5, 2020 3:42 pm
"Yeah, no hurry, friend. We're still deciding. Heard good things and decided we'd stop by. And ma'am, your dog is adorable. My family had a Pom growing up, and she was the best. Stuck by my mama like she was flesh and blood. Might as well a' been."
OOC:
Giving an assist to another character's social roll by breaking the ice and distracting the client with something that'll interest her. Could also use this as a charm roll if no one else has any ideas, but mostly trying to engage the lady.
Feb 5, 2020 5:06 pm
Marv walks down the walls, admiring the pictures, posters and portraits hung there. "I see you've got an eye for style in everything you do!" He swings around and takes a seat by the magazines that Max is fiddling with. He crosses his legs and lays his hands in his lap, "Really loving the decor."
OOC:
I'll assist on a social butter up. I've got a bit stronger streetwise with yyg when we get to that point.
Feb 5, 2020 5:31 pm
"Thanks!" the stylist says. "You guys are so nice. Have a seat, and I'll be with you in a few minutes."
OOC:
Sounds like a Charm attempt. If Red pitches in, that lets you all roll YG vs. RP. Your buttering up is worth 3 boosts on top of that. If Red doesn't make the roll, you don't get to use her rank in Charm, so you'd be at GG vs. RP with the 3 boosts. But a Story Point could be used.
Feb 6, 2020 3:27 am
Catching on to the game plan Red joins in. "Do you do your own hair? It's really vibrant. I saw at least 5 or 6 dudes with some crazy hair. I thought...some-" Red's eyes shift toward Henry for a second and back towards the stylist, barely noticeable she hopes. "-of us should check it out, thought it would be fun."
OOC:
This better still count as charm. Two advantage for him to gush a bit about the perps?

I think we can reflect that by giving two more boosts to the Streetwise check. He's unlikely to talk about the Pantones with a customer present.
You sit in the waiting area for about thirty minutes while the stylist finishes up with his client. She pays and gets her jacket, letting Hank pet her dog on the way out. Then the stylist looks you over. He smiles. "So, my name's Norbonne. Who's my next victim?"
OOC:
Average (RP) Streetwise check, upgraded with a SP, to get him to talk about the Pantones. 2 boosts from the previous check apply. I think Max is still wearing police armor, no? If so, that's worth two setbacks. I'm cool with saying he left it in the car, though.
Feb 6, 2020 1:59 pm
OOC:
I have the police and name tag on Velcro since it's probably not always good to run around in a police uni, see moustache mask buyer dude. Usually just combat padded gear in black.
Feb 6, 2020 3:42 pm
OOC:
OK, fair enough. Combat gear is worth a setback, though, since civilians will find it odd and potentially confrontational. (I forgot about it with the girl at the costume shop.) Tradeoff of going fully armed and/or armored in civilian circles. :)

OOC:
Works for me. I'm like Jr. on Reno 911.
Feb 6, 2020 5:04 pm
"Nice to meet you, Norbonne. That hair color..." He wags his finger as he cups his chin with his other hand and tries to look like he's trying to recall something. "It reminds me of something. I saw these guys... Turned out like peacocks. Colors everywhere. They were hollering something, like ... Panetene..? Nah that's shampoo... Bosstones..? No..." He feigns revalation and snaps his fingers... "Pantones. Thats what they were saying. We were lookin to get a dew like them. You know the kinda style I'm talking about?"

Norbonne's eyes widen at mention of the Pantones. He holds up a finger as if to shush you, then walks over, locks the door, and turns the OPEN sign around to say CLOSED. "I don't know who you are, but I get a good vibe from you. Look, I haven't seen any Pantones since Fatima went missing a few days ago. Her crew must be worried sick. Do you have any news about what happened to her?"
OOC:
So many blanks! 1 Success is enough to get you this information. Should we use 4 advantage for four clarification questions? (On the topic of Fatima, her going missing, or her relationship to this "crew.")
Feb 6, 2020 6:20 pm
OOC:
Nice! Those clarifications sound great to me... Maybe:
1. What can you tell us about Fatima's disappearance?
2. What can you tell us about her crew?
3. What did she have to do with the Pantones?
4. What do you know about the Pantones?

Anything I'm missing?
