"Got it." Max states and writes down the info in an inter office memo and puts it in a holy joe addressed to Mahoney before putting it in the out box on the desk. He messages the Captain about Mahoney's workload might be a bit high and to let her know he assisted before leaving since he was in the office with running the partials from the One-Two Gym incident and that he'll be back when his allotted down time is over. Writing the info on his pad he stands and stretches, "Well, I'm on leave and he'll get his info tomorrow. Lets grab a donut and head out." Max states and goes to leave.
OOC:
But Mahoney asked for help and he has a big case load... I was just trying to help... T_T

"Sounds like a good tip." Marv eyes the factory from the street where the stand, "No chance this friend of yours got a crooked nose, is there?" He's watching for people entering or leaving the factory as they loiter for a moment. "I'm guessin' there ain't exactly a classified ad. What say we try to take a peek so's we know what we're walking into?"
Mar 13, 2020 3:05 am
Lenny seems a bit unsure. "Uh... sure, but I need work." He lights a cigarette and stands against the wall of a shuttered photo-development studio. "But, yeah, let's see what we see."
OOC:
So, two ways you could get information by surveilling the place: An Easy Perception check, upgraded with a SP (R), because there's danger here, or an Average upgraded (RP) Streetwise check. Either check will get a boost from unskilled assistance. Main difference is that Perception will give you bare facts (who enters and when) while Streetwise will give you some context to those bare fact (why that may be so from a criminal POV).
Mar 13, 2020 12:19 pm
"You and me both, Lenny. But I wanna check out the competition first."
OOC:
I'm for the Perception route, myself. I'm only offering GG, so a bit risk-averse while we don't have the whole crew. If the coast looks clear, we could head in with Lenny and check it out. Or if Marv has Y to offer, we could try Streetwise.
Mar 13, 2020 1:46 pm
OOC:
Marv's your better bet on both skills, with YGG. Hank offers a B to that.
Mar 13, 2020 4:33 pm
"Shiiiieeet. Let's see what we see." Marv creeps forward like the pink panther.

Rolls

Streetwise

2 Success, 3 Advantage, 2 Failure, 1 Threat

Total: 2 Advantage

Mar 13, 2020 5:04 pm
OOC:
Remember to propose uses for advantages. I'll give you two observed facts for them, which may be useful intel.
Nothing happens. The building seems completely mundane and boring. "I dunno," Lenny says. "Maybe it's a bad time a' day?"

You do gather that this is a fairly quiet street traffic-wise, but a construction site about a block or two away fills the air with sounds of loud jackhammers and other machinery.

Lenny starts heading toward the building. "May as well knock, I guess. Yous comin'?"
Mar 13, 2020 5:12 pm
"Right behind ya, Lenny."
Mar 13, 2020 6:07 pm
The burly man crosses the street, flinging away a cigarette butt in the process. Outside the building, he stops to consider the windows briefly—all with blinds pulled down tight. Lenny finds a door with peeling green paint and pounds on it. "Hey! Anybody there!"

There's no answer for what feels like forever. Then, a low voice booms from inside, "No solicitations."
OOC:
If you're following Lenny, feel free to try an Average (PP) Knowledge (Society) check to get info on the voice.
Mar 13, 2020 10:28 pm
"Apparently those other mooks knew something we don't," Hank mutters to Marv as he looks up and down the building.
OOC:
Also offering GG for a Knowledge check, so I'll let Marv roll this one too. Do we get a boost for groupthinking it?
Mar 14, 2020 1:32 am
"Yeah, seems like a whole lotta folks know somethin' we don't, and it's really startin' to piss me off!"
OOC:
I'm gg as well and since I rolled the last one why don't you take this one either with or without the boost as Savage deems fit.
Mar 14, 2020 2:40 am
OOC:
In this case, the boost only makes sense if you're going to be talking to each other while this person is on the other side listening. That's worth a boost, but it also means they hear you talking about them. I'll let you decide whether to add it or not.
Mar 14, 2020 10:32 am
Where do I know that voice? Something about the way he says "solicitations"... Hank replays the voice in his head a couple times, then snaps his fingers as the name comes to mind.

Giving Hank info. Threat means it's a bit vaguer than otherwise would be.

Hank nods to Marv and mutters, "Got it. Sounds just like my old pal Marco, used to train with me years ago. Not him, but could be from the same town. Ukraine or some shit."

Louder, he says, "We ain't solicitatin', man, we're looking for work. We got strong backs and tight lips. Not gonna find a better crew this side of the Pickets." Then he mouths to Marv, Worth a shot.
OOC:
Also interpreting that threat as, Hank doesn't approach the mysterious fly-by-night warehouse run by organized out-of-towners with quite as much caution as he might. :)

OOC:
Y'all can try a Streetwise check. Let's say Hard upgraded with a SP (RPP). Boost since you look pretty capable. But two setbacks for stranger danger.
There's a brief silence as the unseen figure seems to contemplate Hank's offer...
Mar 15, 2020 2:46 am
"C'mon man, it smells like farts out here."
OOC:
dang I'm rolling so bad in this warehouse district!

Weird! The dice show no despair, but the total counter does!

OOC:
dice clips the pic I think. Also gotta get the popcorn for this

"Get lost!" says the voice in the same Borat-like accent. You then hear a click like a camera shutter going off. Looking up, you spot one of those small consumer-grade security cameras. "Now we have picture! Leave place!"
[ +- ] Smile!
OOC:
More coming...
