A note on Casting Spells at a Higher Level --- I determined a long while back that when you increased a spells level (not Cantrips) that it basically increased all aspects of the spell by about 50% per level thus basically doubling the spells effect for every 2 levels of increase. However, I also discovered that more than 4 levels of increase broke this concept as well. So this still seems to hold true for all spells that I have seen thus far as such I will be a implementing this within the spells as we move forward and capping the casting of Spells at a Higher Level to an increase of 4 levels. So you can cast a 1st level spell at 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th but you cannot cast it using a 6th level spell slot or higher... okay well you can try but what happens if you do might not be fully beneficial its like overloading a cannon eventually the cannon just might explode as it was never designed to control that much power.
Now if I have not done this to a spell you are using and you cast it at a higher level at least you will have a better idea of what its actually increased effect might end up being.
So far the adjustments are not exactly a 50% increase but they very close and some of the adjustments required tweaking the spell slightly to accommodate a much easier progression.
Bloop. :P
(But on the topic, DeJoker posted recently in absence thread; I think we can consider the game to be on hiatus for now?)

Okay I am sure my players and perhaps some of my GMs has noticed my more sporadic and delayed posting so just posting a note to let you all know I am all still here just -- yes having issues with free conscious time -- and by that mean free time where I awake enough to think -- been working harder than usual and trying to help with organizing a few things at home -- so my mind has been very tired in the evening making posting difficult at best and many times I just go to bed early -- sadly not that spry chicken anymore but I do not give up either -- so if you stick with me I will be back to something I am more used to aka more regular posting --- but this will greatly depend on those things I have no control over -- aka real life situationals

Thanks all working on it bit by bit every day you all are always in my mind when its conscious that is ;) -- hoping to update a few things today -- but need to also figure out where I was -- which I usually do not need to take extensive notes on but will be doing so going forward so as to speed this process up since it seems to be an annoying aspect of my current life for a bit.
Its going and that is about all I can say about it and yet I am not complaining either as it is what it is and that is just fine.
But yeah I had to do a bit of cataloging of what went done thus far so that I could ascertain where we were -- and a good thing I did as I was off in my recollectin' Still this helps me understand how best to do this going forward from now on as well so the time spent fixing my notes was worth it.
It also brought up a few more game adjustments which I am hoping will be well received --- as always trying to make things balanced and yet more playable -- for some cases I do not think designers really took into account how next to useless they made some things and/or how the paradigm shift they implemented just does not jive within the overall context of things.
Okay as denoted and Cure Wounds was current (aka I did not need to update it) -- when you use a Curative Agent be it a Cure Wounds spell or a Healing Potion these do not do some random number of healing when utilized fully.
I full round action Cure Wounds does maximum healing -- a fully consumed Healing Potion does its full amount of healing
A fast cast Cure Wounds has a variable effect -- and you do not have to consume the entire potion but you do have to randomly roll to see how much you do consume if you are trying to only consume part of it.
This is just a heads up note so that you all understand how these things work going forward
My apologies was going to update this last night but passed out almost immediately after getting home from worked will try to get an update today and hopefully Arina is still with us but I will ghost their actions for the update unless they sneak in before I get the update up
Also I have updated the Far Reach map and its details but nothing that effects you all beyond a bit more clarity on some of the landscape that is in place but that I had forgot to mention -- such as the 800 long Boareskyr Bridge that drops some 400 feet from Southbridge Village to the opposite shore a fairly gentle slope but something you all would have definitely noticed -- since it is the only easy accessible point from the lower plateau to the lower regions of Far Reach
Along with a few other things that were in place that have not come up such as the two forests located upon the lower plateau
Now the road you all came in on -- being fairly insignificant -- is not displayed on the map and while not denoted the southern edge of the map is literally the Cliffs of Insanity that go straight up to the Sky Plateau and stretch along the entire southern edge of Far Reach -- I will be adding another map soon that shows what can be seen from the lower plateau both to the west and the east but those are still in the works
Okay I checked and Arina has not been on for over 17 days which is about the last time they checked in here so I hope they are okay and I will move forward today with things
So FlyingSucculent or rpgventurer would either of you like to pick up the reigns of Lex since that character is part of your triumvirate with its shared back story? And hopefully Arina will return to us soon. Otherwise if neither of you are comfortable with that I can ghost them for a while.
I don't think I can handle playing two spellcasters yet. :D
(And Lex isn't in the Library, so we can't see his sheet. It probably will be more convenient for you to do it?)
I can run Lex temporarily (unless GeneCortess wants to). DeJoker, can you save Lex's character sheet as a PDF? Then you can save it on a Google drive or similar location. Otherwise, you could email it to me directly.
Okay rpgventurer I asked you or FlyingSucculent because as I said you two have a vested interest in that character
Still to make things easier I will just post it within the game for easier reference -- would anyone have issues if I did this for all the character sheets -- just make things equal for all --- besides I allow player kibitzing as I feel that helps reflect characters being more savvy about what they should and should not be able to do than perhaps the player might be and that would just aid that
My sheet is in the library and available for everyone, but feel free to post it on the forum too! (But probably exclude notes, I just use them for reference to mechanics and they are clunky. XD)
