"Chay, are you able to scan the terrain as well? Any idea if we're able to get all the way to our target without any major obstacles slowing us down?"
OOC:
As an aside, is the weather an environmental hazard? Is this real cold, or this a kind of "Fake" magic cold?
Jan 22, 2020 2:42 am
Its environmental. While the movement provides some resistance to the effects of cold, you know that you'll have difficulties after an hour or two.

OOC:
Remember you can seal up your EBAs to help with environmental hazards.

Chay calls up to Ben, Hey Ben, does that Demonic armor fit you? It might be good to have it on up there.
OOC:
Not sure what you mean by scanning. Chay has an optics package that gives him +2 to site based notice checks but I can't find what that means exactly.

"I'm fine for now, but thank you," Ben says. "I'll be good for an hour or so, and then I'll need someone to come up and relieve me. Let me know if anyone sees anything out there."
OOC:
Mostly I was wondering if you'd be able to determine something like the depth of the snow, for example to ascertain if we could carry on. I guess we'd better start looking for a good place to park the car? I can't imagine we'll be able to just roll right on up to our target so easily.

Chay can make a Notice check with that +2. Use the Echo tech to echo locate the Texaco. Or something.

"Ben tell Tipolei when change. Me take place outside.

Chay presses a glowing button on the dash. Echo starts a deep LADAR sweep of the terrain up ahead.

Let's see what we are dealing with Echo! Getting stuck is not an option I wish to entertain at the moment.

Chay looks at the feedback on Echo's LED screen, hoping the snow isn't too deep.

Rolls

Notice +2 - (1d8+2, RA)

(1) + 2 = 3

wild - (1d6+2, RA)

(4) + 2 = 6

Chay uses the equipment to chart a path. They're not sure that the snow gets really deep, other than collecting in lower depressions, which they can drive around. As such, you could drive fairly close to the structure.

Ana is learning a lot of things today. The most recent addition to that: what that button does. She presses the button in her suit and it seals up, providing a warmth caused by her own body heat. She leans back against the walls of the Echo while sitting inside.
Jan 24, 2020 10:20 pm
"Alright, looks like were close to the structure, how do we want to play this ?"
Jan 25, 2020 12:30 am
"Simple way is we go in, then we kill them.

You can feel it. Even the least sensitive among you, the ice castle is a deep festering pit of evil. It crawls under your skin, an itching madness, urging you to give up your hopes, your dreams, to succumb to the id, your inner self that only wants, takes.

This isn't a compulsion, only the shadow of an urge.

You see a way in, a hole in the wall, jagged. Here, the wind ceases like the eye of a storm. A cold, harsh sun shines down upon you, but the light only draws the warmth out of your flesh.

Lastly, Kyron knows the rift lies here, the ice castle sighting right on it, but within, it vibrates manicly, dangerously. He feels like the instability could rupture, and who would know then. Would it collapse? Explode? Expand? Moment by moment his guess changes.

"Yes Tip, busting in and killing everyone would be a reliable option, but perhaps not the one that would be safeest for us. Any way we can get an idea of what's inside? How many different beings might be in there, I wonder?" Ben says over over the com. He climbs back down into Echo to discuss face to face with the others. "I don't know that barging in there is the best available option. This place doesn't instill the sense of success in me, but we've got to find a way to get a better sense of what this all is, as well as putting a stop to it if needed. Thoughts?"

*Kyron gathers power from the nexus and repowers everyones weapons with smite. *Continuing the spell*

"I could sense like I did before in the snow, see what presences I sense out there. We also have the name of the Just, perhaps if we use that. Wait !!! The Just. You know how Justice Hammer lost all his courage ? I wonder if it was taken and turned into this lieutenant of the being trying to take over here."

OOC:
Before powering my weapon, I need to know if Tipolei can wield justice's hammer (two-handed, size 0, min str 10) one handed (Tipolei is size 2 and has a d12+1 str). If he can't, he'll ask Kiron to enchant his chainsword to use with the shield.
Jan 25, 2020 4:55 pm
OOC:
I'm fine with that, but in Savage Worlds it doesn't give you an extra attack unless you have the Two Fisted Edge.
[ +- ] Two Weapons
Jan 25, 2020 4:56 pm
OOC:
I think he means so he can use the Hammer and the shield
Jan 25, 2020 5:07 pm
OOC:
I cannot find any rules for that.

Two Hands (SWADE pg 67): A two-handed weapon can be used with one hand at a −4 penalty. He counts his full Strength for damage but loses all other advantages such as Reach or Parry bonuses.

Size (SWADE pg 106): size 2 is the size of a hippo or standard vehicle. Size difference is a penalty for attacking smaller things or a bonus for attacking larger things.

Unless there is a specific rule I missed, I'll apply the size modifier as a reduction to the penalty for using the weapon one-handed. So -2 to attacks with it that way.
Jan 25, 2020 6:38 pm
OOC:
I'm ok with that, thx. So Tipolei will be wielding the hammer with the shield!
